### 4/5 — It works surprisingly well

*2018-05-25, version 2.3*

Remote sends high freq audio beeps and so app needs permission to access the microphone to work. Works at range of at least 5m across room with TV on in background.

Cheaper than Bluetooth and no pairing needed. Rubber hook slides off remote to act as primitive phone stand/support.

Easy to use and works with my 5s and iOS 11.

Cheap & Cheerful and maybe all you need. Fun !

PS. 5* if it did video as well. Thanks to those who mentioned to pull the tab in box to find the instructions. Probably why I got mine for just a quid in a charity store 😋

### 2/5 — Hmm... why the beeping??

*2018-05-02*

It’s a simple app that works the Snap remote. Not yet updated to work with iPhone X so you will have dark banners at top and bottom. I guess you get what you pay for - mine was free. Simple to use but for the life of me I can’t figure out why the remote has to beep every time you take a picture?!?! Absolutely ridiculous beeping! Came with a tripod, phone holder, remote and carry bag. Throw out remote, delete the app and just use the free tripod.

### 3/5 — Doesn’t take panoramas on iOS 11

*2017-12-27, version 2.3*

The panoramic pod tripod and clockwork rotator that accompanies this app are cheap and cheerful but do the job on smaller phones. Remember to activate Bluetooth and take the battery isolating tab out to make it work. However the app doesn’t appear to support taking panoramas which defeats the object of having a panoramic stand. I’m hoping the developers will fix this soon. I’ll just have to use it from the ordinary camera app.

### 4/5 — Works just fine

*2017-05-17, version 2.1*

Free app to accompany a Bluetooth remote I bought for £1. Works fine and simple to use. It would be better if you could also adjust the camera shutter speed, but can't really complain

### 4/5 — A few improvements...

*2017-04-23, version 2.1*

This app does the job of taking pictures but I would love it if it had a video feature (which is why I bought the remote) but all in all it works.

### 3/5 — Good! But....

*2017-03-25, version 2.1*

The product good app good but I wanted to use this for YouTube for when my phone on the tripod stand so then I click to record instead of walking up and taping it

### 4/5 — Does the job

*2017-03-20, version 2.1*

I bought the product about half an hour ago, downloaded the app in the car and tried it out. Works fine - I wonder if maybe those it didn't work for checked the remote was actually turned on?
Few things could be improved - being able to delete photos in the app rather than going into the photo app on my phone to do it. Some filters would be cool too. Overall though I think it's great. No more awkwardly trying to reach the shutter button with my thumb when taking a group selfie!

### 4/5 — Brilliant app but need improving

*2016-10-09, version 2.1*

This app is always a go to when travelling but it needs a few improvements so I can always use it on the go, if you added a video options, filters, slow motion, make the photo fit the who screen of my phone as it doesn't at the moment and different camera options, I would give this app 5 stars as I love it!

### 2/5 — Does what it says, but not a fan

*2016-08-05*

I got the coordinating product for free, so I guess I shouldn't have gotten my hopes up. The remote beeps every time a button is pressed, and the app won't function if it doesn't have microphone permissions. This is unnecessary and ridiculous. I'm giving the product to someone else and have already deleted the app. What a waste.

### 3/5 — Good

*2016-07-05, version 2.1*

This app is good if you have the controller but if you don't it's just a regular camera. They also need to add a video option instead of just the photo. This is also good if you have a selfie stick but no button to take photo. This is an app worth getting if you have the controller but if you don't there is no point of having this.

### 3/5 — Great! But...

*2016-05-10, version 2.0*

It's great but it has no video feature and I'd really enjoy taking videos with my selfie stick.

### 4/5 — Brilliant.....

*2016-03-11, version 2.0*

Brilliant app plus it's free and a brilliant little tool (button) to take full selfies, distant photos or full family photos with no running back and forth cause you didn't get there in time...haha...love it! No probs so far with this app or the button I purchased (which was well cheaper than most I have looked at). You can even switch from using front to back camera with flash an vice versa as well as use the timer function if needed! works well with iOS iPhone 6. Although I have no idea why you would need access to the microphone, as you can not use the button to take a video, which is a real shame, If you could that would be even better as i would never have to edit my vids again, which can be a right pain in the backside at times 😁 plus you'd receive five stars and I would of paid a bit extra for the button or even paid for the use of this free app 😊.....
But up to now no problems and like I said great little tool to have handy, almost better than the selfie stick, very pleased with it! 😊👍

### 1/5 — No Privacy! Perverts

*2023-10-28, version 2.3*

So… not only I paid to get this accessory, I then found out that it doesn’t work with Bluetooth but with an app that I had to download. I was suspicious and hesitant in the beginning. I thought I’ll give it a try. I downloaded the app, took the first pic, then I wondered how do I delete this from the app? THERE IS NO OPTION TO DELETE IT! What kind of doggy business is this that you’re running? Disgusting! Absolutely no care about privacy, rights, customers. Scammers!

### 1/5 — Rubbish

*2019-07-27, version 2.3*

Don’t buy! You can’t use it with iPhone 8 plus.
Remote it rubbish 🤮

### 1/5 — Useless and has no support

*2017-04-02, version 2.1*

Doesn't work on my iPhone 7 and the website has absolutely no support available. Waste of time.

### 1/5 — Remote?!?!?

*2017-01-26, version 2.1*

How the heck do you sinc the remote with the app, doesn't work. Someone needs to explain this to me please. Clicked the button a bunch of times, nothing happened.

### 1/5 — Doesn't work

*2016-12-27, version 2.1*

Press the button and nothing happens

### 1/5 — Doesn't work!!!

*2016-09-08, version 2.1*

Bought as thought my daughter would love it and can only use as a normal camera. Remote doesn't work! Waste of time!

### 1/5 — Needs improvement

*2016-07-06*

I would love it if we could have filters to choose from.

### 1/5 — Garbage.

*2016-04-23, version 2.0*

The physical product this is designed for is garbage, stay away if you can.

### 1/5 — Doesn't work with iOS 9

*2015-12-13, version 1.9*

Got this yesterday but my phone updated the same day and it doesn't work. Waste of £7.99

## Most praised reviews (10 highest-rated)

### 5/5 — Accessibility and works great every time!

*2019-12-18*

Bought the remote a couple years ago for my son. Downloaded this app on his wheelchair mounted iPad. Using Velcro I secured the little remote to his wheelchair’s lap tray. The button wasn’t easy for him, however, with effort & desire he figured a way.
Battery life is excellent, the beep when he takes a photo isn’t a problem, it is an asset. Thank you.

### 5/5 — Works for iPhone X

*2019-04-30*

I’ve had this in the box for 3 years before I opened and tried to use it. I thought it was a dud because it wouldn’t turn on but I just had to pop the battery in and out several times then finally got a beep. The beeping is very loud and annoying though. You don’t get any options except for Flash, Grid, Tiger & Reverse camera mode. Not sure if it’s worth the retail $20 but it does what it says so far.

### 5/5 — good app works good with remote

*2018-08-07*

this app works with the vivitar selfie snap wireless remote. bought it today at micro center for 2 dollars and it works really well. stood about 20-30 feet away and my iphone 8 plus was able to pick up the beep from the remote to take the pic. haven’t tried it where there’s more noise but straight out the box and text d in a living room to the kitchen it works really good.

only if it could press record in videos now

### 5/5 — Great app and remote

*2018-03-16, version 2.3*

Wow I wasn’t expecting that this would be any good but what a surprise, as long as the remote is switched on and you start the app then you will have no problems and you can use the app even if you forgot your remote, it would be nice to have more stuff added to the app and maybe in the future it will have but all in all it’s still worth the five stars I gave it. :)

### 5/5 — Works fine

*2017-08-15, version 2.1*

Got the remote for a quid in poundworld, tested it, works fine. Remote doesn't need to sync, works with a burst of audio, pretty clever, was expecting to have to mess around with Bluetooth.
Make sure you give the app microphone access or it won't work.

### 5/5 — Great App

*2016-04-15, version 2.0*

Does what it says on the tin. The remote button this app supports is not a Bluetooth device, it emits sound chirps that the app recognises. That is why it requires access to your microphone, that said it works well thou I haven't tried if in a very noisy environment yet.

### 5/5 — Simply works..

*2016-04-12, version 2.0*

Easy to install app, and works right away..

### 5/5 — Does exactly what it advertises.

*2015-11-04*

I was hoping this would be some sort of Bluetooth device I could use to control the snap/record button for apps such as Snapchat, Musically, Vine, etc. without having to touch my phone. Unfortunately this isn't what that is... BUT, I CAN set my phone up where ever I want, and snap a photo whenever I'm ready. As opposed to making sure my pose is just right when a photo timer is about to go off.

Not what I wanted exactly, but not a bad product or app.

### 5/5 — Good app

*2015-04-08, version 1.7*

Works great 😀😀

### 5/5 — Works on iOS 8.1.3

*2015-02-22*

I have an iPhone 6 and this app works perfectly just like it's supposed to. I bought the remote on eBay and thought the remote was broken or defective until I took the time to read the instructions that said I have to download this app. Now all is well in the world and I'm able to take lots of pictures of myself. #selfie
