### 3/5 — Good

*2026-08-31, version 140.3.1*

Love the photo upload feature for my meals. Enjoying this app so far

### 4/5 — Recommended on fb group

*2026-08-31, version 140.3.1*

I got this app because of a calorie deficit group on Facebook recommending it and it does exactly what I need it to do. It doesn’t have ALL of my foods to scan but no app will. Those niche small store brands are going to get you. It does well and I like I can toggle between seeing calories with or without my workouts so I can choose to be even more in deficit. It has been very helpful! This review was made in response to a prompt on the app.

### 5/5 — So easy!

*2026-08-30, version 140.3.1*

I love SnapCalorie AI Calorie Counter! I no longer have to weigh or measure foods, I just take a picture of my meal before eating and I am told how many calories I am about to eat and am graded on the nutritional value. Then I know how many calories I have left for the day and which nutrients I need to include in my next meal to complete my balanced diet. I love that I can snap a barcode on packaging to get an exact analysis. Love it!

### 5/5 — So easy to use

*2026-08-30, version 140.3.1*

Great app that gives an assessment of nutrition within your meal just from a photo … works with even complex foods such as a bowl of Vietnamese Pho!

So easy to use

### 5/5 — Great, easy tracker

*2026-08-30, version 140.3.1*

I started using Snap Cal to help me change my diet to reduce my cholesterol. I LOVE that I can click on individual macros to see what foods had the most salt or saturated fat or any other macro.

### 5/5 — Easy as Cheese!

*2026-08-28, version 140.3.1*

The app is super helpful in helping me stay on track while I’m traveling for work, which is usually where all the hard work and discipline go out the window because other trackers are more cumbersome. Even using this data directionally has been a benefit. I do test it by putting measured ingredients onto a plate and it’s pretty close on its own but when adding in helpful details, it dials it in.

### 5/5 — Really helpful

*2026-08-28, version 140.3.1*

I love this app, it is so easy to use and a really good tool in helping me keep track of my daily calorie target

### 5/5 — Good

### 5/5 — Easy to use

Very simple and easy to track my calories

### 5/5 — Great context

*2026-08-28, version 140.3.1*

This app uses photos with text for context amazingly to quickly take down scale numbers, relative size, etc. really amazing app that is absolutely worth downloading

### 5/5 — Simple to use

*2026-08-27, version 140.3.1*

I love the simplicity of this app. I can either take a picture or describe my food and it documents it by breakfast, lunch and dinner.

### 5/5 — Best nutrition tracker!!!!

*2026-08-27, version 140.3.1*

Amazing app!! Helps me stick to the diet and keep on track, very accurate ,highly recommend!!

### 5/5 — Best app ever!

*2026-08-27, version 140.3.1*

I truly amazed by this app. Before I was always lazy to count calories, but now with advent of AI it is made easy. I tried about a dozen different AI calorie counting apps and this one wins by far. It has many great, free features and always accurate and easy in recording calories. It makes me ethusiaatic about the process itself, it also intergrates with Apple Health where I can add calories lost. It is the best by far, hands down. I am glad AI recommended it to me as the best, it is very true.

### 4/5 — Good app

*2026-08-27, version 140.3.1*

I have been using the app for a few weeks to check it out and I am enjoying it. The weight and foods are quite accurate and is easy to use. I would like to have a clearer information on my macros though, and the calorie intake. In all, a good app to keep track of your calories consumption

### 5/5 — Great, simple to use

*2026-08-27, version 140.3.1*

Great app, simple to use. Scans barcodes. Easy to edit portion sizes and food type if unsatisfied with the AI auto inputs. Recommend.

### 5/5 — Best app for recording and managing macros and calories

*2026-08-26, version 140.3.1*

The ability to snap a picture of a meal and get all the nutritional data from a meal makes this so easy to use. I also like the weekly snap shot I get where I can set up a goal based on the data for the following week.

### 5/5 — Parfaite

*2026-08-26, version 140.3.1*

SnapCalorie fait partie des très rares applications à proposer ses services utilisant de l’IA pour enregistrer efficacement ses repas sans contrepartie avec un pseudo essai gratuit. Je recommande très fortement !

### 5/5 — Amazing and simple tracker

*2026-08-25, version 140.3.1*

I have been using for months and never had any problems. Wonderful app!!!

### 5/5 — Best food tracking app!

*2026-08-25, version 140.3.1*

I’ve used this app consistently for a month. It is the easiest, most accurate app I’ve used (and I’ve tried many). It’s so simple to take a picture of my meals and upload. I like the micronutrient tracking and the meal ratings.

### 4/5 — Age requirement

*2026-08-25, version 140.3.1*

This seems like a good app overall but why put “13+” in the app description, but you only let 18+ year olds use the app? Fat teens exist too yk.

## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated)

### 1/5 — Terribly Inaccurate

*2026-07-29, version 140.1.4*

I paid $80 for the premium version and it was a waste of money. Cant tell the difference between grilled and fried. Cant tell the difference between chicken and pork. Etc etc. Final straw was trying to log a meal using an exact picture of the nutrition label (which it has the option to upload). It would think about it for awhile and eventually translate it into something totally different. Took less than 10 seconds to find the exact meal in MyFitnessPal. Guess I’m going back to that.

### 1/5 — Problème d’age

*2026-07-24, version 140.1.4*

Also totaler Schrott. Direkt löschen.

### 1/5 — Won’t let me register

*2026-07-05, version 140.1.1*

Tried making an account and it won’t let me. Keeps saying Error with Request

### 1/5 — Seven day free trial is not enough

*2026-06-12, version 139.2.3*

Downloaded the app because I was told there was a free version. Only seven day free version which doesn't give you enough time even to get used to using the app. That's impossible. So disappointing.

### 1/5 — Frustrating advertising

*2026-06-03, version 139.2.3*

I understand that app developers need to make money, but the fact that the free version prompts you at launch, when opening camera, after scanning, over and over and over is extremely frustrating. It also feels odd that the pop ups have cheaper pricing than when you hit upgrade in the settings menu, feels a bit bait and switch.

### 1/5 — Ruined by Recent User Interface Update

*2026-05-27*

I’ve been using this app for about 3 months. It previously had a simple interface that worked well. Unfortunately they recently pushed an update that turned out to be a big downgrade. One example: there’s now a calendar function on the home page that lets you review entries. It shows day/date but not month, so unless you’re scrolling back slowly and paying careful attention it’s easy to lose track of what month you’re looking at. Another example: there used to be a diary page that let you scroll through prior entries. They were in a chronological list, divided into breakfast/lunch/dinner/snack and each entry listed the food and number of calories. Now the diary just shows a big clump of gray rectangles, each representing a food entry. Each rectangle has a title like “chicken” but doesn’t show the calories for that entry. It’s amazingly useless. I think it was done because they want users to take a photo of every item eaten, and if that was done then the diary would show a big array of photos which would look cool (but still not be a useful way to review the information). Other issues: the AI function where you take a picture of your food and the app identifies the item and determines its weight is not reliable. Sometimes it’s amazingly accurate, but other times it gets the type of food wrong or it will misjudge the weight by a factor of two. Also, their food database contains a lot of errors. At least half the time that I scan a barcode I find that the information in SnapCalorie is different from that shown on the nutrition label. It’s often off just by 10 calories per serving, but you’d think that scanning a barcode should result in exact info with no discrepancy at all.

**Developer response:** Thanks for reaching out with your feedback.

I would love to provide some clarity here on some of your key points. First, we still offer the ability to sort meals by period. When you updated, we asked you how you wanted your SnapCalorie experience to be visually! You can check out the customizable settings under the App Preferences page in Settings. Second, our Diary page is strictly a way to see a beautiful collage of all the different foods you've logged via the Camera. You have chosen to enable Text based logs as well, which is fine, but please note the Home page is your primary page for logging functionality! Third, about barcode results, some products can have varied calories counts based on region that may slightly impact nutritional results. There's a whole lot of other information I would love to share with you if you're interested, so please reach out to help@snapcalorie.com if you have any other questions or feedback you'd like to share with us directly!

### 1/5 — Garbage

*2026-05-16, version 139.2.0*

They updated this app about a week ago and absolutely destroyed it. Interface is now garbage and the soul of the app (ai), doesn’t work. Salmon dinner at 0 calories? Slice of pizza is 89? Try anything else.

### 1/5 — Update

*2026-05-15, version 139.2.0*

The recent update you made is buggy, and the calorie counter with the photo is no longer accurate at all.
is really not working well. It used to work perfectly

### 1/5 — Scam

*2026-05-14, version 139.2.0*

Tries to charge my card constantly despite having cancelled the subscription

### 5/5 — Love it!

*2026-08-31, version 140.3.1*

I have used SnapCalorie since 2024, it has been one of the things that have helped me lose weight. I love how I am able to log the calories as well as the protein, saturated fat, etc. It also allows you to track your weight and it is one of the best feelings to watch that line move. It is truly a great app!

### 5/5 — Shockingly simple

*2026-08-31, version 140.3.1*

I’m so impressed with how easy this is. I think adding a few notes really helps when you use the photo, but it’s so much easier than other calorie trackers

### 5/5 — Best out there

*2026-08-31, version 140.3.1*

I checked quite a few apps before settling on snapcalorie. While it still under estimates the meals, it’s by far the closest calculator you can find to easily lose weight. I have successfully lost 8 pounds in one month using this app!

### 5/5 — The greatest calorie counter!

*2026-08-31, version 140.3.1*

Very powerful app with lots of features and good database of stored food. I’ve been using it for several months before writing this feedback!

### 5/5 — Very helpful

*2026-08-31, version 140.3.1*

Very helpful but wish the streak to start over had a frozen chance

### 5/5 — Impressed

*2026-08-30, version 140.3.1*

Using a few weeks consistently since it has been so easy. Shocking amount to do free. Linked with my Health app easily.
