## What is SnapDecks?

SnapDeck turns scattered class material into a study deck you can actually use.

Import a batch of screenshots from Photos or bring in one or more PDFs from Files, then let SnapDeck extract the text and generate clear, grounded flashcards in a simple question-on-front and answer-on-back format.

Built for focused study:
- Batch-process screenshots or PDFs
- Use on-device Vision OCR to pull text from typed or handwritten material
- Generate clean flashcards from notes, textbook excerpts, worksheets, and review packets
- Study one card at a time with tap to reveal, next card, restart, and shuffle
- Keep decks saved locally for quick review later
- No account, no subscription, no clutter

SnapDeck is designed for students who want faster review, stronger retention, and a privacy-first utility they can buy once and keep using.

EXAM COUNTDOWN (NEW IN 2.2)
Put a date on the calendar and SnapDecks answers the only question that matters: will you be ready? A forward simulation of your deck's real FSRS memory model forecasts recall on exam day - if you keep up versus if you stop today - corrected by your own measured Exam Lab overconfidence. The cards that won't survive to exam day get flagged, and one tap rescues them while there's still time.

## Version history (last 5 releases)

### 2.2 — 2026-08-16

EXAM COUNTDOWN (NEW)
- Set your exam date on any deck and SnapDeck forecasts your recall on the day itself - simulated from your real FSRS memory model.
- Two curves: where you land if you keep up, and where you land if you stop today.
- Your own Exam Lab confidence history corrects the forecast for overconfidence.
- "Won't make it" flags the exact cards predicted to fade before the exam - one tap starts a Rescue session, and the recap shows how far you moved them.

Plus a countdown chip on every deck with a date, and small polish throughout.

### 2.1 — 2026-08-08

Version 2.1 adds Native deterministic Exam Lab with daily, weekly, and custom cross-deck exams; configurable timing and pass targets; confidence capture; Brier-derived calibration; weakest-deck analysis; complete answer review; and protected local history that never mutates the study schedule.

This release also refreshes the native iPhone and iPad experience, accessibility, privacy boundaries, and App Store screenshots. There are no accounts, subscriptions, advertising, tracking, or developer-operated services.

### 2.0.1 — 2026-06-26

This update sharpens the interface: the iPad layout now uses a centered, comfortable reading width instead of stretching edge to edge, plus small display fixes. iPhone is unchanged.

### 2.0 — 2026-06-21

SnapDecks 2.0 — a pro study upgrade, still 100% offline.

• Cloze deletion cards: write {{c1::hidden}} blanks and study them as fill-in cards.
• Custom Study: filtered sessions — hardest-first, by tag, forgotten today, or a quick cram.
• Leech detection: chronically-missed cards are flagged automatically.
• Card tags to organize and filter your decks.
• Read-aloud audio review with on-device text-to-speech.
• Daily goals with a new-card limit and a progress ring.
• Local study reminders so you keep your streak.

No account, no network — your decks and progress stay on your device.

### 1.2 — 2026-06-15

SnapDeck 1.1 — What's New

Deck Insights
Every deck now has a dedicated analytics panel. Tap Insights (or the … menu → Deck Insights) on any deck to see its retention rate, total reviews, lapse count, a 7-day review forecast bar chart, and a ranked list of the cards you have missed the most — all computed on-device from your existing review history, no network needed.

7-Day Review Forecast
The forecast chart inside Deck Insights shows exactly how many cards are already scheduled to become due each day over the next seven days, based on the FSRS due dates stored on your device. Overdue cards appear under today. Use it to plan study sessions before an exam or a busy week.

Hardest Cards list
Deck Insights also surfaces the cards with the most FSRS lapses in that deck, ranked from worst to best, each showing its lapse count and per-card retention rate. Know what to focus on before you open a session.

Duplicate Deck
Any deck — including bundled starter decks — can now be duplicated in one tap (… menu → Duplicate Deck). The copy is independent: all cards are reset to new and the original deck and its review progress are untouched. Useful for starting a fresh pass, creating a custom variant of a starter deck, or testing a new card set without disrupting your schedule.
