Sorry, but while the app worked pretty well I found this app is too expensive for its offering. Perhaps for a newbie it would have more value.

Gave 3 stars because I can’t really tell how good it is.  There’s no pricing listed on App Store which makes you think there’s a free version you can try that either is limited in function or simply becomes unusable after a trial period.  However, there is no function at all unless you give them a credit card.  I like to try things before I decide to expose my personal credit card information to yet another possible place where it could be hacked.

I used a number of photos that i had and it 100% accurate on stoneflies and mayflies.  I can’t wait to use it on the water.

For someone who doesn’t know insects this is very useful when fly fishing it helps be find the exact fly to use based off of what bugs are around

SnapHatch is one of the best ideas I have seen in a while!! It will tell you the perfect fly to tie on from a quick picture of some bugs. I have used it a handful of times and ever since I have caught more fish than ever before. The interface is seamless and easy to use. I have told everyone I know about this that’s how awesome it is!

Be sure to check out the Catch Log as well! This will allow you to keep track of details from each catch like weather, river flow and Temp, barometric pressure, insect hatch and imitation used.
