Snapimals is straight up GREAT GAME!!! It’s the perfect game for people like me, who love playing digital games that are for non competitive people. The moment I got it I was addicted , spending diamonds everywhere and snapping photos of every thing ! It still needs some work . The Camera is very touch sensitive and when I try to take a quick picture the animal disappears and all I get is a picture of a tree . Over all this game is very fun! I enjoy it a lot ! It’s such a nice change from all the match 3 games floating around. I really enjoy the tours and trying to fill the museum with photos. I have noticed a couple of bugs though. First, I have upgraded my museum to level five now but the actual structure itself hasn’t changed. When I upgrade, it shows me a picture of what it will look like but then, when it’s finished, the building hasn’t changed at all. It still looks like a level one building. The other thing is that I’ve had a couple instances where my camera quits working during tours and it won’t allow me to take photos or move the camera (but I can still zoom and throw balls). None of this is going to make me quit playing, these are just a couple things I’d like to see fixed. Great game overall! ### 5/5 — Requires dedication & love for all things cute! *2019-01-20, version 1.2.0* Closest thing to Pokemon Snap with what we wanted all along with that N64 release: Snapanimals is an involved, long lasting game! There are so, so many reasons why I love this game so I’ll try to sum it up: - The game requires regular visitation and commitment in game play, it takes time to unlock things and the guidance on what to do next is really stellar. - There’s humor! Take the time to read the visitors, guests, and yes, pirates that are visiting your islands: hilarious while still being kid-appropriate. I still love hearing the Captain’s “whoaa!” every time. - You can save your snapshots! Another part that makes the game long is only being able to sell three photos at a time, having to run multiple tours means you will indeed achieve the side missions overtime (which are conveniently tracked for you). - Low bandwidth and low memory space absorption. It does take time to get used to navigating between docks, booths, and islands when clicking around; but for all it’s worth this is without a doubt a five-star game! ### 5/5 — I absolutely love it! *2019-01-05, version 1.2.0* I am a HUGE animal lover! (And love this app as well!) I love animals so much that when I was little I even tried to convince my mom that mosquitos where helpful and wonderful creatures... she did NOT agree. This app has wonderful animations; the animals are absolutely adorable! The special animal behaviors discovered by using the goofball (as well as the normal behaviors) are also absolutely heart warming! I believe that the creators of this app did a great job in all respects! (Although I wish we could take more pictures, and choose more of them.) I definitely agree that this app is a fabulous app for both kids and adults, and of course is extremely fun to play! Maybe interactions with people who visit the museums. It needs something else I can’t put my finger on. Maybe if we could go inside and upkeep the museum? Or visit the animals? Be able to take pictures in different ways besides just on the quick moving trolly type thing you are on. Add different modes so you can visit the animals to take pics, go trough the jungles and stuff to take pics, maybe talk o museum visitors, then a mode to upkeep and look inside your museum. ## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated) ### 2/5 — Can’t use with WiFi! *2019-08-24, version 1.2.0* I played this game all the times a while ago, and I recently decided to redownload it. I was super excited, but the app kept saying there were connection errors. It turns out that I couldn’t use the app on Wifi, but only on my paid data. I really want to play this game but I can’t use it! I tried going on the help and support website, but it seems that the site has been closed down. I probably won’t hear from the developers considering the website is down and the app has been updated in over a year, but I hope it does. ### 3/5 — Just a few changes. *2020-10-30, version 1.2.0* So this game is great but I feel like there should be a mini game. I just feel like creative games like this need mini games. Second I don’t like how you have limited rolls. There should at least be more then five. And of course on top of that it’s so hard to get a perfect shot and with five rolls and how fast the movement is it’s even harder to get the perfect shot. I’d also like to know why it takes so long to watch award winning ads. But despite these couple issues this game is fun! Every thing from the art to the music to the sound effects it’s just so detailed! The characters to! I like how there's garbage you can pick up to collect money and how you can unlock new lenses and it’s a game that’s relaxing and something I play a lot! ### 3/5 — Needs work, but fun for a bit *2019-05-27, version 1.2.0* All those comparisons to Pokémon Snap may give you higher expectations than what this game can deliver so do take those comments with a grain of salt. I’ve played for about 2 hours and have a few issues to note. There are times when the camera freezes and you can’t take photos, leaving you stuck on a boring tour. You can only take 5 photos per tour, which can be done (often too) quickly and you can miss opportunities when the camera doesn’t snap right away. The camera can be hard to angle exactly as you’d like, sometimes leading to weird scores and your best photos aren’t always the ones that will score well. The scoring can take longer than taking photos did. I wish you could create an album of your own favorite photos. I still enjoyed most of the time I played, but it will be a casual game that I probably won’t check on often unless it’s improved. ### 3/5 — Pretty Good *2018-11-16, version 1.2.0* The daily snap spin wheel says I win coins every time but I never receive the coins.. and when it gives me camera rolls idk how to access or what to do with those. Also it’s annoying that the goals take so long to attain. Like the goal to reach museum level 7 should appear at museum level 6 instead of at level 2, or the goal to reach the frost island should occur relatively close to when you’ll reach the frost island. Also the time it takes for things to happen is kind of absurd. I’m only a couple days into the game and already it’s taking 24 hours to upgrade a camera ### 4/5 — Huge Problem *2022-08-13, version 1.2.0* This Game Is Amazingly Creative and has a great story and a great way of the game processing. But, for my device at least, all there is are question marks instead of the normal photos of the museum upgrades, people objectives, etc. That’s a huge problem for me. And also, I never saw ANY animals in all ten of my tours. It makes me frustrated. The only time I saw an animal was on my very first tour, and it showed a chimp with crossed out eyes. The one move, Charlie. Also, there’s another problem. I would capture a photo, when it was locked. But then when it was unlocked, it didn’t show the picture I took. >:(. Please Fix All Of The Problems. I used to get this game & loved it! None of the following problems happened. When I looked at the version history, I saw that the last time this game got updated was four years ago. I highly recommend updating it. Please. I love the music and the way the animals look but there should be a couple more updates and more diversity when you are exploring taking pictures! For example, in the first destination (The Jungle) you see about 3-6 different types of animals but they are very close together because the jungle is tiny! It’s a bit boring when taking pictures and exploring. Also the price on rushing the building time when leveling up the museum seems quite random. But over all it’s a nice game I just wish it was offline as well. 👍🏼 ### 4/5 — I’m only writing this because I get gems for it *2020-07-11, version 1.2.0* So the game is fun I like all the different animals and the different pictures of them you can discover but things take forever to upgrade and it takes forever to get the last photo on the daily mission. Other than that there are no flaws except for the fact that some animals glitch when you throw the goofball at them. But other than that it’s enjoyable except for when you take a picture of the lovebirds on top of the hill and it still says legendary tiger even though it’s not there. But other than that it’s great except for sometimes you take a photo of an animal but it registers as that one animal that took up two centimeters of the photo. But other than that it’s visually stunning and I love the overall designs of each animal. Would recommended to anyone who likes photography and collecting things. ### 4/5 — Best safari-picture taking based game, but.... *2020-01-27, version 1.2.0* So I have been playing this game for quite some time, and had stopped for a bit, then started playing again recently. I have unlocked “Frost” island with “Dino” being unlocked soon. (Well once my museum is at the correct level needed) But, and there is a huge but here, every time I share a picture with facebook or messenger, the game freezes and stays locked on that screen for sharing, I’ve never had this issue before, and am having it happen every time I go to share an image. Must be some sort of bug or glitch in the game that is causing this issue. Other wise this is an amazing game and have not had any other issues with it! I highly recommend this game to anyone who enjoys safari style gaming. The animals are super cute, easy to get the hang of- with the exception of trying to get that perfect shot every time... I will update my star rating to a 5 star once this issue is taken care of, because it deserves 5 stars and then some. Just beautiful, music is good, and everything about this game I truly love! ### 4/5 — Please fix the videos!! *2020-01-13, version 1.2.0* I love this game!! Con: I’m now in a weird spot where I’ve almost completed all the photos on the first island and would like to expand to see new animals in order to earn money. However, I’m struggling with keeping up on coins and feel like I’m just seeing the same scenes over and over. I wanted to watch some of the videos because that’s an option on upgrades but every time I click them it says that they are not available. At first, I thought it was a glitch but it’s been happening for at least three weeks. I’ve also tried using both data and WiFi. I don’t plan on using this feature overly, just enough to get some variety because I would like this game to last as I love it! If the video option is no longer going to be an option and that was a game choice, then I recommend removing it from the game altogether. Only because it adds another layer of frustration because it feels like there is something that could help but just isn’t working. Pro: I would like to end with the good though. I have this game four stars because it deserves it. I struggle to find games that keep my attention for a long time. I’ll play for a while and then delete. I do not have that instinct with this game. There is variety with the animals and it feels different from other games because of the main goal. I’m always excited to see the different animals and actually care about expansions on my islands. I love the visitors comments as well. ### 4/5 — Pretty good game, but. *2019-10-03, version 1.2.0* I really like this game. Music is pretty good, although it might start to get annoying if you play along time. Graphics are really great. The animals can really be humorous at times. Kinda of alit going on at the beginning with all the rewards and Captains pics and so on. That probably slows down a little as you play. The only complaint I have, and it’s small, is in movement. I have never really liked “on rails” games. It does kinda work. I wish you had control of how fast you walk through each area. Also I think it might be better if you could control direction. It might not be possible because of how the game is made, but at the very least you might show which direction you will be going. Sometimes when you turn unexpectedly it throws you off. Maybe put a pause button that you can use once per area where you could stop for 5 seconds or so. Anyway I really do like the game and considering how many games I have downloaded and played over the years, I have only left a couple of reviews. So good job and keep up the good work. I never gave up and would look it up on the App Store from time to time until I found out it was up and running again! I was so excited 😊 I’m 24 and this game never gets old. And, if you don’t give it enough goofballs to play with while the adventures, it will not be your pet anymore! So you have to give them the goofballs again, and watch an add. So please add pets! I wouldn’t change anything but one thing... that’s the time it takes for the museum to upgrade. At level 3 (museum) I have to wait an hour and 30 minutes and I don’t want to do instant because it is very expensive. And also the time it takes to upgrade the bridges. The bridges also require the museum level and one of the first bridges you have to have a level five museum. Other than that I think it is a great game. Oh and also the time to take to upgrade the lenses. On the grasslands for the first upgrade it takes 2 full hours!!
