The concept is great but a number of improvements are required: 1. The app has not been updated since 2017. 2. The app is extremely slow and often, after submitting till slips correctly, there are errors with those submissions. 3. You don’t receive notifications when snapped slips have been approved/rejected. 4. The processing times for snapping till slips could be faster. 5. I’ve read a number of reviews of people complaining that after trying to receive their funds, they either haven’t received it or it’s taken months. Due to this, I have, to date, not cashed in my funds. One of the biggest concerns as well, is possible breach of security once I’ve given my account number, because of the lacks of updates and fixing issues that have continued for years. This is definitely something that requires urgent attention and improvements. 6. More healthier food options should be offered. ### 3/5 — Amazing concept and app, with a couple of tweaks required *2026-04-21, version 2.7.7* This is a fantastic concept and overall a very useful app for saving money on everyday purchases. The user experience is generally smooth, and the idea behind rewarding users for their shopping is great. However, there are a few areas that could be improved to make the app even better: The coupons are sometimes too brand-specific. While there are occasional generic offers (e.g. any potatoes, beef, chicken, or dog food), most coupons are limited to specific brands and quantities. It would be more practical to include broader, product-based coupons that reflect common household staples. The processing time for snapped slips could be faster. Waiting longer periods reduces the instant gratification and convenience of the app. There are occasional issues where snapped slips go missing or the app glitches, which can be frustrating and reduces trust in the system. EFT withdrawal processing times could also be improved to allow quicker access to earned funds. The snapper ranking system does not seem to update correctly. Despite submitting multiple slips, progress remains unchanged, which suggests a possible bug or tracking issue. Overall, the app has great potential and delivers real value, but refining these areas would significantly improve the user experience. ### 4/5 — Love the concept, but app needs improvement *2026-04-20, version 2.7.7* I’ve been using this app for quite a long time and have earned a fair amount of cash back in that time. The concept is simple and works well enough. Improvements are definitely needed for being able to load photos from photo library or pdfs for A4 invoices, I’ve had many rejected offer redemptions because of “unreadable slips”, finding that it can sometimes take three or more attempts at upload to get an acceptable slip to successful upload. ### 3/5 — App Crashing *2026-01-24, version 2.7.7* I have had the app for years now and only became fairly consistent using it recently o have noticed that the app continues to forcefully close as soon as I want to upload the slip it is the first time experiencing this, and it has now been fairly consistent I have deleted the app and downloaded it again but still the same issue. I even restarted my device thinking it’s probably a glitch but the same issue persists overall I have had no issues with the app and I’m fairly satisfied. Is anyone else having this experience and how did you manage to fix it. ### 4/5 — Snapnsave *2025-12-18, version 2.7.7* Snapnsave has been my breadwinner on twice, it has great rewards but I am rating 4 star because I feel the app itself requires maintenance as sometimes when you try to scan the app closes and you will keep on trying daily until the slip date is no longer redeemable for points ### 4/5 — Bonus petty cash for little effort *2025-12-01, version 2.7.7* Everything works smooth & efficient. For very little extra effort, it’s worth my while to get some cash in those months where a little extra goes a long way. I only had a glitch once with payout. The money was paid, just took a little longer than usual. But normally up to a week’s turnaround time at most. And I don’t even use it on a daily basis. Definitely worth it. ### 4/5 — Need my money *2025-08-31, version 2.7.7* Snap and save is a scam is been two months now l have not received my money now my password is no longer working. It seem like snap and save is a scan and is heartbreaking and they make empty promises you will send countless emails with automated responses. This people need to do better or stop this whole thing if they are struggling i am sooo annoyed ### 2/5 — No till slip *2025-04-05, version 2.7.7* I have been using this app for years now. I loved it however, my recent experience is disappointing to say the least. I have been uploading till slips and they keep getting rejected. The reason provided is that there are no till slips snapped, however when I use their website to review my uploads, all the till slips are there and clearly visible. It seems like I’m being prevented from earning any further rewards. ### 2/5 — Disappointing *2025-04-04, version 2.7.7* I have had this app for years and at first it was working really well. But it hasn’t been updated for the longest time and I have been struggling for months to just successfully upload my snaps. There’s always an issue. Either it says the picture is blurry or I uploaded no slips. I have also been waiting 5 months for my cash payout and have been repeatedly assured it will come but to no avail. ### 3/5 — Withdrawal issues *2025-01-15, version 2.7.7* I’ve had the app for a while and made a few withdrawals with no issue. However since updating my bank account details, i have tried withdrawing last year and the request was under audit for months. The withdrawal was cancelled, bank charges added back to my wallet with no explanation. I requested a withdrawal in Oct 2024 and to date its still under audit. I have queried the delay asking if its due to the banking details being changed but all I get is a generic reply with no answer to my question. ### 1/5 — Untrustworthy and Disappointing *2024-12-22, version 2.7.7* I have not received my payout, and it has been more than 6 months. After reading other reviews, it’s clear I’m not the only one experiencing this issue. Many users are complaining about delayed or missing payments. This app is a complete waste of time. They make it seem easy to earn rewards, but when it comes to actually paying out, they fail to deliver. Don’t waste your time with this untrustworthy app—it’s simply not worth the frustration. ### 1/5 — Annoyed *2024-12-10, version 2.7.7* The app is working perfectly well for a while until I started saying error 3 times or “upgrade” every time I try to login. That stopped and I tried to cash out now the money doesn’t even reflect in my bank. I’m so annoyed because all that consistent work added up to nothing. I feel like I’ve been scammed with the hopes that this app is true and works. Worst part is I’ve cashed out money and I was told to wait 14days , it’s been more than that still no money , doesn’t even reflect in my bank. Waste of my time ### 1/5 — Scam *2024-11-22, version 2.7.7* This app is a waste of our time. I’ve requested a cash back on 1st September till today haven’t received it. I’ve been enquiring and they keep sending those automated messages every time telling it will be processed in 5-7 days but never happens. I don’t cash out often cause I wait atleast until the money is a little bit more It’s the second time requesting cash back and even the first it took 2 months. Because they said the were auditing I mean, I know you helping us but we put effort and time into this as well so please respect us. ### 1/5 — Waste of time *2024-11-15, version 2.7.7* Don’t bother downloading this app. You will be wasting your time keeping receipts, going through to see what you can get cashback for etc. I cashed out over 2 months ago, still no payment. If you complain, you get some nonsense response about how they have been “paying people out since 2015….. bla bla bla” and how your cash out is taking longer than usual due to them upgrading their payout system. All means nothing if you don’t out your money where your mouth is. I honestly rather recommended sticking to tried and tested loyalty programs like Clicks Club Card etc. there you will at least be getting something back without having to so the work for them. ## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated) ### 1/5 — App error *2026-01-17, version 2.7.7* Update after 2 more years, the app still hasn’t been updated, it was working alright for a while now when you try and snap a slip it just kicks you out and closes the app. So a person can’t snap any slip at all doesn’t matter which store you pick. The app was working great until today, just says no Internet update the app… but the last update you can download was 5 years ago. I also cannot cash out for some reason anymore. Please update your app, there is competition out there and I would hate to see this app disappear, I’ve been snapping for over 3 years. ### 1/5 — Bad!!! *2025-09-22, version 2.7.7* 1. It takes 50 decades for you to receive the cashback. This year(2025) I requested it in Feb it’s September now and I haven’t gotten it. 2. Their scanner isn’t always able to read the slips…you’ll find something being rejected and the reason is the image is missing but you did submit an image 3. They take 100 decades to respond to emails and it seems like the employees are clueless because they never give you a proper solution to the problem, just a bunch of automated email🚮🚮🚮 ### 1/5 — Poor customer support *2025-08-20, version 2.7.7* I have been using this app for over 8 years now, with little to no problems until last year October when I decided to withdraw some of the money in my wallet. Until today I haven’t received the funds and it says “eft pending” as its status. I don’t know how many emails I have written in the past 10 months. I have never really gotten what the problem is or why they can’t solve it. The last person I spoke to said that the money was “stuck in our system” & that she will “ personally ensure that your cash-out is processed manually” that was in June and still nothing. Imagine my frustration as a user, I haven’t even been using this app as much as I used to because I don’t know why I should anymore since I can’t even withdraw from it. ### 1/5 — Disappointed by Poor Support and Accountability *2025-07-05, version 2.7.7* I’ve been a regular user of the SNAPnSAVE app and genuinely enjoy the cashback offers. It’s a great concept that has real potential. However, my recent experience has left me disappointed and frustrated. In mid-January 2025, I processed a cashout but never received the funds. I contacted the support team and was told there was an “auditing issue.” Since then, there’s been no resolution. The app went offline for some time, and by the time it was up again, my funds had “expired.” When I followed up again, hoping for some accountability or at least a more thoughtful response, I was met with a copied and pasted clause from the Terms & Conditions about account closures. This was completely irrelevant to my actual concern and felt dismissive and unhelpful. I’m aware that technical issues can arise, and I understand that delays happen. But what’s missing here is any meaningful communication, transparency, or effort to assist users who lost out through no fault of their own. I know I’m not the only one who experienced this. Other users also had similar issues during that time. SNAPnSAVE, if you value your users, please improve your support and show some accountability. The cashback is great, but it means very little if users can’t actually access their money or trust that their queries will be treated seriously. ### 1/5 — App deteriorated *2025-06-12, version 2.7.7* I have had this app for ages event convinced my husband to download the app and used. Big mistake, he has tried to withdraw money from the app and it has been over 5 months already. The same answer sent every single time, just the wording changed a bit. I see on the app they answered people who also downloaded the app and have experienced the same problem with the same thing they have been telling me. I have also tried to withdraw the money still waiting it over 3 months already. They give the same answer over and over and over again. They have been doing this "update" since 2024 as I recall getting the same answer then as well. ### 1/5 — No worth the time and effort scanning slips - no cash back received *2025-06-02, version 2.7.7* If I could give zero I would. Spent a longtime gathering up cash back (that portion of app works well) when tried to cash out - it never happened. Account was frozen for not complying with rules (?) then unfrozen then EFT was being processed and eventually months later it “failed” but no notice sent. Until the cash back expired and balance now Xero. Never got the money despite emailing and asking for help etc. no worth the effort of scanning coupons. ### 1/5 — Scammers!! *2025-04-11, version 2.7.7* A few years back, as a student I started using this as a way to get a few bucks back, and I did, but fast-forward and they’ve turned into a business that just tells lies. Obviously collecting consumers data without upholding their end of the bargain… My payout request have been pending for the past 9months and these guys just respond to my email queries (several) saying they looked into it or something going on in the back end or most recently (Feb 2025) Aretha – Part of Tiffany’s Snappy team at The Cashback Club who said she’ll personally follow up, NEVER followed up or followed through. Seriously, I’ve been more than patient, and you guys owe me!!! ### 1/5 — The worst app *2025-02-06, version 2.7.7* I downloaded this app to assist with saving cash, but all it does is take the data you submit for your slips for their own purposes. I did my first cash out after being on the app for a year, when I decided fo cash out in early dec 2024, it said it would take 14 or something days. I have been waiting for my cashout since Dec 2024. I have emailed the team and constantly being told that the payments take longer because of new cash out method. If the method doesn’t work—- DONT USE IT. This is a scammer app, if I could give it 0 stars I would. ### 1/5 — Don’t bother with this app *2025-01-22, version 2.7.7* This is a very laborious process of selecting all your products and then taking pictures of your till slips - which may be fine if they actually paid out when you try and process a cash out. I have been waiting for 7weeks and get the same nonsense response that people have been getting since last September. It is actually pathetic. It is definitely more effort than it is worth!!! Update: it’s been 9months and I am still awaiting my cash out. Definitely don’t waste your time with this app. ### 1/5 — Scam of an app *2025-01-06, version 2.7.7* Believe the reviews about their unreliable payment practices. While they may pay you promptly the first time, every subsequent payment becomes a frustrating back-and-forth process. When you cash out, they won't process it until you send an inquiry email. Even then, they'll respond with a flimsy excuse about audits or delays, leaving you waiting for weeks. Oh and they’ll also deny your slips for reasons like, “it’s two different slips” when it’s clearly one. I got my whole family around it. Not only is it immaculate but very helpful in saving. I have saved R700+ in cash back so far and going for more. The app is easy to understand and the cashback offers are relevant to everyday items I actually buy. When it works properly it’s a great way to save money without changing shopping habits. However I’ve been having an ongoing problem where I can no longer capture my slips on the app. This issue has been persistent for quite some time now and makes the app unusable for me. I’ve tried multiple times and it still doesn’t work which is frustrating because capturing slips is the core function of the app. I hope the technical team can resolve this issue soon because SNAPnSAVE has a lot of potential and I’d really like to continue using it as intended. ### 5/5 — Proud Snapper *2025-11-14, version 2.7.7* I have been using Snap and Save for a while now and I have withdrawn a few times successfully but only once I could not receive cash into my bank account. At that time i kept on uninstalling and installing the app ,slowly losing the hope but the Snap and Save team noticed that the cash I withdrew was not deposited into my banking account, they then reached out to me and solved my problem. Within 3-5 days the cash was deposited into my bank account. Today I have so much confidence in Snap n Save and recommending it to anyone who wants some extra cash from their grocery purchases.
