Try again later. Get this message about half the time when paying for parking. When this happens, no amount of trying works. ### 1/5 — What’s the purpose of this app *2024-11-09* Not many suppliers can actually be paid in this app. Try loading a card also a pain. Best just go to checkers and pay all your bills or use your bank app. They actually offer nothing unique that you don’t get while shopping at checkers or on your banks app. What’s the differentiation here between what’s on the app and on a banks app or in checkers just cannot see it. Apple Pay has you also covered or Apple wallet. What you trying to solve for here I have no idea. ### 2/5 — Decent *2024-10-11, version 3.7.9* It’s fine for paying for washing machines, electricity but don’t put a lot of money in here because good luck withdrawing it back into your account. It’s easy to add money in but taking it out requires ID document, selfie and once you do that pray that an unexplained error doesn’t occur. Make sure you don’t want to take money out because once it’s in there there’s no getting it out unless you’re buying something that supports its payment. ### 1/5 — Not focusing *2024-03-29, version 3.7.7* Focusing still broken in v3.7.7. With camera app, I can focus as close as couple of cm from my phone. With SnapScan focus is fixed at about 0.5 m. By the time it focused on barcoded ticket it no longer has resolution to read it. Makes it completely useless. SnapScan has known about the focus issue for almost 6 months now. Having advertisements at malls saying you can use SnapScan to pay for a parking ticket is false advertising if you know for this long that you have an issue. ### 1/5 — Scam *2024-03-27, version 3.7.7* Why I cant use the money that is in the wallet? The app opens, however the scan doesn’t work. ### 3/5 — SnapScan in general *2023-08-14, version 3.7.4* Hi there, I’ve been using SnapScan for some time now however what I find frustrating is that there aren’t many vendors, shops etc that allow SnapScan for example checkers. Pretty much all I’m able to use it for is when I go to the laundromat and even then I encounter a problem that if I pay multiple times because I use up to five washers and then five dryers I get the red alert saying I’ve paid too many times. I just wish that it was useable at more vendors then I would give 5 stars. For many years I save money to wallet on daily basis and pay to my standard bank bond when reaching a small goal. Without any notice, this function was removed! I’m not sitting with R5000 in my wallet and couldn’t do anything with it. I tried to withdraw, your stupid app said my bank account couldn’t be verified. I tried to pay takealot, your stupid app couldn’t give me “pay from wallet” option. I’m so disappointed. How can your app become so bad like this? I feel I’m scammed. ### 1/5 — My bank is not available for withdrawal! *2023-01-27, version 3.7.1* I bank with Old Mutual/ Bidvest, but when I try to add my account in order to withdraw, it’s not one of the choices. Sad that a good app becomes unusable after a big corporate takes it over!! ### 1/5 — Amasimba *2026-03-23, version 4.0.1* Bruh this stupid app keeps rejecting my card information even after loading it properly idk what’s up w that ### 1/5 — Only works in South Africa *2026-02-24, version 3.7.18* Despite adding the UK dialling code of +44 SnapScan adds the code of +27 and I have therefore been unable to receive a verification code and cannot make a payment. There is no option to ask for help. ### 1/5 — Verification Fail *2025-12-11, version 3.7.18* Not an ideal situation using a third party provider to verify your identity with the DHA. 8 attempts later and they still can’t seem to “verify my identity” and because of this any funds that will be in the wallet can’t be withdrawn. No point in using the app if that was the intended purpose. The fact that a manual verification process is not available is even worse. ### 1/5 — Cant add card *2025-11-16, version 3.7.16* Trash UX. just downloaded the app. Couldnt scan my card so i chose ‘enter manually’ but there is no button for me to actually submit the details? Deleted app. Reinstalled . Still CARD CHANGE LIMIT REACHED. ### 1/5 — Useless for some visitors to SA *2025-07-06* I don’t have an SA number and can’t get one. My US phone is carrier-locked, so I can’t add a SIM card or an eSIM to get an SA number. There are lots of QR codes all around to donate or pay but I can’t use them. It would be great if this app either allowed foreign phone numbers or interoperated with ePayment systems such as Venmo, PayPal, Cash App or Zelle. This is a major shortcoming. ### 1/5 — Behind the times *2025-06-02, version 3.7.14* The app still doesn’t support virtual cards with rotating CVV numbers. Basically lacking a security feature. It’s been years. In my opinion financial apps that lack basic security features are not really concerned with customer security. ### 1/5 — Users Beware *2025-05-02, version 3.7.12* There is hidden limits that are not explained when using this App. Namely one example is the wallet functionality has a set of hidden monthly limits attached to it. None of which is explained in their company online documentation and FaQ’s section, when talking to customer support they didn’t even know there was limits in place.
