## What is Sneaker Tracker?

Sneaker Tracker is built to help you track the mileage of your sneakers!

In case you didn’t know, I sure didn’t not too long ago, you should replace your running shoes between 300 and 500 miles of use. Your shoes cushion your body from the impact of running, but eventually this cushion wears out and your body will bear the full impact of each run.

This app exists because I didn’t feel like handwriting every single workout I did and how many miles I ran. Instead, I wanted my Apple Watch and iPhone to help me out. And so here it is, Sneaker Tracker!

By default, this app will allow you to manually log workouts. And if you give it permission, Sneaker Tracker will watch for new workouts you log into the Health app. Whenever you log a workout, you should assign it to the shoe you used. From there the app will keep record of your milage and send you notifications when you reach your replacement range.

### 5/5 — Loving the Updates!

*2025-09-18*

The latest changes for iOS 26 add a whole new level of interface. It’s very colorful and I love how the menu options open up. I bought the subscription to get additional features and customizations and I’m glad I did!

**Developer response:** Awesome! Thames for the feedback, I’m glad you like the refreshed ui and all the other features to subscribe for more!

### 3/5 — Was Great but Slow After Upgrading to Premium Version

*2025-08-18*

The app had been my favorite tracker however I recently upgraded to the premium version about the time of the latest update and it’s very slow when you go to select your shoe after a run. It’s very frustrating waiting for the it to catch up with your movements. I hope the developer is able to address soon.

**Developer response:** Hello! Thanks for letting me know about this. I have a few ideas on what this could be and I’ll start looking into this now. If you are interested feel free to email me at skdfmanagement@icloud.com and I’d love to get more specifics from you to eliminate this bug.

### 5/5 — Highly recommended

*2024-03-24*

I decided it was time to get “real” shoes in my quest to lose weight through walking. As such I realized I needed to track the miles in those shoes to replace when completely broken down. Searching the App Store, I found Sneaker Tracker. This app has done all it vows to do allowing me to monitor my shoes as I walk off the weight. I am in my third pair of shoes and can track all my miles. About a month ago a little gremlin raised its ugly head and the app became unresponsive. I checked/did what I could with no luck. I reached out to the developer about my issue who was so responsive and diligently worked on my issue until corrected. The developer was able to track the issue and was in constant contact with me to resolve the problem. The app was quickly updated to negate the issue. I appreciate the developer’s assistance and responsiveness. The app issue was quickly resolved and I am back monitoring my shoe mileage on my walking journey.

**Developer response:** Thank you for sharing your bug report with me last month and I'm always happy to help! And congrats on all of the hard work you've put into yourself and it is an honor that my app has served a role in your hard work.

### 2/5 — I’m confused how this app works

*2024-01-07*

Im confused how this app works

**Developer response:** Thanks for the feedback! This is valid criticism and I will work on improving the introductory experience in the next few months.

### 5/5 — Easily the best shoe tracking app!

*2023-07-13*

I tried four different apps for tracking shoe usage and this one was by FAR the best! Some apps only let you enter workouts manually, and some only let you select running workouts from Apple Health, but this app lets you enter workouts manually or by selecting a running, walking, or hiking workout from Apple Health. Plus, if you have some old shoes that you tracked manually or with a different app, this app lets you set the “initial miles” when adding a shoe. It also has an intuitive and nice looking UI, and is very usable even without in-app purchases, although I was happy to pay the small in-app purchase price to remove ads and reward the developer for making a great app.

### 5/5 — Great app with mindful updates!

*2023-06-04*

Tracks my sneakers without any fuss and syncs perfectly with my workouts. The latest 2.0 release is a nice update with some good sorting and UX updates. I'm glad to pay the yearly sub to support the dev.

**Developer response:** This is awesome, I'm glad you are enjoying Sneaker Tracker and the polishing up in 2.0 was appreciated! Feel free to reach out whenever if you have any suggestions for new features.

### 2/5 — Worked fine the last week

*2023-02-26*

Now crashes on syncing workouts even after reinstalling app. Crashes on opening.

**Developer response:** I'm sorry this is occurring! I am working with a few users who are experience sporadic crashes and I'm hoping to find whatever is causing this. If you are interested in sharing your use case, you can reach out to me at skdfmanagement@icloud.com. I'd love to figure this out with you.

### 5/5 — Unusable due to crashes

*2023-02-20*

App opened and worked correctly the first approx 3 times and now crashes after opening within 1 second. Completely unusable. I think the constant crashing is due to setting the workout option to 120 days.

EDIT: Others were having the same issue of you sync too many days. Keep the syncing time modest and the app works perfectly.

**Developer response:** Sorry this is occurring, I am working on the next release of Sneaker Tracker and I'll be working on speeding up and improving HealthKit integration. I am also very interested to learn more about how this is occurring for you, if you are interested in sharing please feel free to reach out to me at skdfmanagement@icloud.com.

### 1/5 — Crashes

*2023-02-08*

Was working fine for about a week… now it crashes all the time! I cant even use it

**Developer response:** Ah I’m sorry to hear this! I’m very interested to figure out why and prevent this from happening to you or others, please feel free to email me at skdfmanagement@icloud.com

### 5/5 — Best shoe mileage tracking app

*2023-02-06*

This is a brilliant shoe mileage tracking app that does exactly what you want it to do. Automatically picks up workouts from Apple health and can assign to a default shoe or be done or changed manually. It picks up loads of metrics as well. Really customisable and easily the best of all the apps of this nature I have tried. Fantastic support from the developer and is regularly updated. One I’ll be sharing with my running friends. Grab it.

## Version history (last 5 releases)

### 2.8 — 2026-08-28

See where every mile took you.

Workout Routes
Your outdoor workouts now show a route map right on the workout screen. The route is heat-mapped so you can see your pace and effort as you moved along it.
• There's nothing to turn on — whenever a workout has location data, the map appears automatically.
• If a workout doesn't have a route, the map simply stays hidden.

Filter & Sort Your Workouts
The workout list has been rebuilt so you can find what you're looking for faster.
• Filter your workouts down to exactly what you want to see.
• Sort the list the way that makes sense to you.

Redesigned Workout View
The workout detail screen has been refreshed to have a half-size view for quick access, a full-sized view to dig into the details, and includes the new route map if the workout was outside.

Redesigned Shoe View
The same philosophy behind the Workout view, the Shoe view has been refreshed to have a half-size view to quickly see the most important details about your shoe, and a full size view to dig in to everything else like charts and photos.

Miscellaneous updates and Bug Fixes
• Backups are more robust.
• Added new metrics to Apple Health to track workout routes and effort.
• Added location access to use the Workout Route feature.
• Added a new Photo Storage tool to reduce impact of photo storage within the app.
• Charts have been improved and load noticeably faster.
• Identified and resolved a number of bugs related to performance, consistency, and accessibility throughout the app.
• A lot of behind-the-scenes cleanup makes the app lighter and faster.

### 2.7.2 — 2026-03-31

Added a new chart for bonus users and revamped manual add workout screen.

### 2.7.1 — 2026-03-09

Subtle improvements and bug fixes.

### 2.7 — 2026-02-17

Apple Watch Workouts and Presets
You can now start and log a workout from within the Sneaker Tracker on Apple Watch.

To do this, open Sneaker Tracker on Apple Watch, navigate to the Start tab (left of the Shoe tab), and configure your workout.
• Choose the Workout Type
• Choose the Workout Environment
• Optionally, choose the Shoe you are using.

Once you have built your workout, you can save it as a preset to quick access to later. If you will use it very frequently, you can set it as a favorite and Sneaker Tracker will surface it to the top of the list the next time you want to start a workout.

Once you are in the workout, you can swipe left to pause or end the workout, and you can swipe right to interact with any active media.

I do want to stress. You do not have to use Sneaker Tracker to log workouts. Whatever method you have used to log workouts before will still work and I have zero plans to limit external workout logging.

This is a new, and hopefully pleasant way to log workouts, should you be interested.

For Bonus Users
An alternative tab bar experience is available. As a peek behind the curtain. The new tab button rolled out in September 2025 is nice, but I am experimenting with alternatives to it. If you too are curious, feel free to check it out.

Currently the alternative tab bar is a more familiar slider experience you may have seen other apps do. But it does take into account your accent color and has slight animations as you navigate around it. Importantly, you can still swipe from side to side and you don't *have* to use the tab bar to change tabs.

You can turn this new tab bar experience on the Settings tab, in Interface Customization at the bottom of the User Interface section.

Misc
• Subtle tweaks to a variety of screens

### 2.6.2 — 2025-11-04

Fixed a bug in how shoes and workouts are displayed on iPad.
