There are regularly glitches - specifically when viewing someone’s story. Also the team isn’t consistent in updating with new perfumes that have released, updating the monthly raffle, or sharing new articles. It needs work, but is usable and can be useful. ### 3/5 — Search is problematic *2025-12-26, version 1.2.8* The search feature could be more elegant. Currently you have to toggle between brand and fragrance when searching. If you accidentally put a brand name in fragrance search nothing comes up and vice versa. A more elegant solution would be one global search and ditch the toggles. Looks like the inventory of perfumes and reviews is still growing. Sometimes I follow up with a separate google search outside the app for more fragrance reviews ### 2/5 — Needs improvements *2025-12-03, version 1.2.8* I like this app, but every time there’s a new giveaway, I can’t see it until a week after it’s up. I don’t understand why. It doesn’t matter much I exit and re-open the app. ### 3/5 — Logging in difficulty *2025-07-27, version 1.2.8* If you have a new phone or need to enter password, sniff doesn’t work. The password reset link doesn’t work! There is just no ease of use, and I therefore hardly ever use it. The current rating system is weighted 1/3 for scent, 1/3 for bottle, and 1/3 for performance. Such a great, innovative idea. I’m looking forward to seeing how the app progresses and new fragrances and brands/houses being added. I would like to see a way of adding/suggesting brands to be added. In addition, the Community tab does not work. I hope that they will eventually add to where you can create shelves for your collection since I like to divide mine up between full size and travel or what not. I do love that you can learn a lot about the fragrance world on the app though and can see this becoming a really amazing app. ### 2/5 — Too Limited & Frustrating *2025-01-04, version 1.2.8* I so wanted to like this but so many fragrances are missing that I’m unable to add which makes participation challenging if nearly impossible. ### 3/5 — Limited library *2024-12-28, version 1.2.8* As other reviewers have stated, the library on Sniff is a little bit limited. I am noticing quite a few of my collection nowhere to be found on sniff. They’re also seems to be a lack of discontinued fragrance, which I understand if they never add discontinued fragrances but it would be nice to be able to fill out my entire collection on this app. ### 2/5 — Love the idea Hate the layout *2024-12-14, version 1.2.7* The workings for the app are so nice and useful. I love how in depth it is and I will continue to use it but the white background with bright yellow font was not the best idea. I can’t read half the app, either give a dark mode option or change the font please!!!!!! ### 4/5 — Love but could use improvement *2024-12-13, version 1.2.6* I love Sniff, it is such a great app to document your fragrances, review them and connect with other fragrance lovers. It is however pretty slow at times and buggy. There is room for improvement. You can’t get creative with your stories, I wish there were more font options and better formatting of the text, and allowed you to add two text boxes without the glitch. I also would like it if there was an archive of our stories like on IG or highlights on our profile. I really enjoy uploading on my story but it’s upsetting that they get lost after 24h. Otherwise, amazing app ran by amazing people, I use it every day and will continue to do so! I appreciate the monthly raffles and the holiday giveaways. I know Sniff is still new and growing, so I hope it’ll improve! ### 3/5 — Has potential *2024-12-05, version 1.2.6* It’s a nice concept and has some good brand options. It is lacking a lot of brands, understandably since there are so many, I just wish we could suggest additions. Even if we could upload “unofficial” fragrances in our closet for those not listed yet. My main issue is that the app is very slow and glitchy. It seems like it needs an update and/or more time with developers. ### 2/5 — Very slow and glitchy *2024-12-05, version 1.2.6* I love the idea! But the app is slow and glitchy, it is impossible to search anything or add anything. I hope it will get fixed. ### 3/5 — Hoping it Expands *2024-11-21, version 1.2.6* Generally really like the app and that you can log on the go, etc… but the database is really lacking a lot of perfumes. Only about half of my collection is available on the app and unfortunately it doesn’t seem like there’s a big focus on expanding to houses that aren’t currently on the app. Really beautiful design although the screens are pretty clunky and glitchy when loading. Has the potential to be the Mecca for perfume but has a long way to go to compete with some of the other sites. ### 3/5 — Needs more fragrances added to data base + glitching issues *2024-11-04, version 1.2.6* I love the idea of using a forum other than Fragrantica to log my fragrances etc… however there are a few in my collection that are missing on their data base and whenever you update your collection you have to completely exit the app in order to view it on your profile once it’s been added. Lists sometimes jump as well, for example I was listing my favorite notes and then the page just kept jumping ### 4/5 — Great app, could have minor improvements *2024-10-18, version 1.2.6* I really like this app, it is great for fragrance lovers to keep track of their collection and look out for other scents they may like. It is like the Good reads app but for fragrance. My only feedback is I think the app is set to one time zone only which is really annoying for Australia/NZ users, basically when I put my fragrance of the day in, it is still there for half of the day the following day , I am assuming this is because Europe or wherever are still not on the next day. If this could be fixed the app would be great ### 4/5 — Before you download! *2024-09-20, version 1.2.6* Overall a decent selection including brands Ive never heard of. They haven’t added any super new brands like Orabella (Bella Hadids) but they have Nicki Minajs and Britney Spears so I’m sure they’ll add it. The app does an EXCELLENT job of providing a wide variety of notes. They can def provide more perfumes but this seems like an app in development so I’m not gonna be too harsh. I found most of the big name brands I wanted and they have a big selection of those. They break it down enough for perfume newbies to understand. You can see what’s popular as well as other peoples scents. You can also follow people! There’s a little test for finding scents and you can do it multiple times! That and as another person said - option to add fragrances to their database from Fragrantica would be great ### 1/5 — Glitchy and lacky *2024-06-24, version 1.2.3* I love the concept of this app,it’s just a shame it not functioning at all. Either it doesn’t load at all or it’s so slow it’s barely usable, fix the bugs in the app and your have a great app. ### 1/5 — App won’t load *2024-05-22, version 1.2.1* I’ve deleted app, redownloaded, let it it sit to load for almost 30 minutes, all the things, it will not load for the past 7 days. I love the concept, but the execution is really poor. It seems like after the giveaway. Pages are not loaded properly. Couldn't find a way to share it with fellow fragrance lovers. It’s impossible to comment on posts, as everything literally freezes and words don’t type out. It takes forever to load anything, the UI is very meh. It’s not trying to be everything to everyone. It just focuses on fragrance and that’s it. I also LOVE that there are no ads. It just makes everything seamless. ### 5/5 — Must have app for any enthusiast. *2025-10-25, version 1.2.8* I recently discovered this app as a collector of fragrances. Not only is the app excellent for monitoring your collection/wish lists and what you want to try. You can also message them with suggestions if you see something not in their database.
