### 3/5 — Amazing with one key lacking feature

*2026-08-30, version 4.1.21*

The main feature of marking highlights is excellent, great when paired with Obsidian too. UI is great, the paid features of uploading YouTube videos and audiobooks has been well worth it for me. The DJ features have been useful also.

The app just lacks one core addition, one that’s pretty much a foundation part of all podcast apps - Playlists. It is beyond reason that these have not been implemented yet despite being in the roadmap over 3 years ago. If you’re a paid user and decide to upload audiobooks, these will be split into many chapter. Once you have them all in the queue, the second you start listening to something else or add something in the queue for later, it becomes chaos and requires reorganising constantly. It might sound trivial but it’s deeply frustrating and has me considering alternative apps

### 3/5 — Bugs

*2026-08-13, version 4.1.19*

App is not bad but recently too many bugs when audio does not want to play (timer progresses but no sound). I don't have this issue with other apps

### 3/5 — Interesting but there are serious usability misses

*2026-06-19, version 4.1.14*

Stories have an arc, and summarizing podcasts into a list of bullet points doesn’t make an interesting story.

Summarizing a 30 minute podcast into a 4 minute podcast is something I might be interested in if I’m prepping for a test on the podcast, but I’m not. I’m listening to the podcast in the background while gardening, cooking, working, playing a video game… the idea that the DJ has saved me 26 minutes assumes my brain is capable of making sense of and retaining facts outside the context of their underlying story.

Not only does this approach make the podcast incomprehensible, it’s also just very boring.

Despite my negative review I do believe there is a general direction this app is headed in that is very interesting.

I imagine this being used to assemble views from multiple podcasts. I could see this being incredible for news, where info is already bite-sized. I could see this being my new way to consume podcasts with some improvements

Some things I’d like to see -
1. I immediately disabled the Snipd sound because it was very distracting. Instead, use the existing podcast’s jingle as the audible anchor between stories.
2. Give me a slider similar to playback speed to tune how deep I want the DJ to go so I can change the summary level minute by minute.
3. DJs are known for gracefully fading tracks from different albums. Use the DJ to crossfade similar topics from multiple podcasts
4. Discover mode - Add an option to Crossfade snips from podcasts I’m not subscribed to, with obvious options to subscribe/block podcasts in the feature

Thanks!!

### 2/5 — Lots of promise but super annoying

*2026-05-19, version 4.1.13*

Like why is it so difficult to copy from the transcript? The copy button always disappears. Super frustrating. Don’t know why something so simple is overlooked in an app we pay for.

### 3/5 — Great but buggy as heck

*2026-05-02, version 4.1.11*

Episodes frequently reset to the start and lose my place. Seems much worse recently.

Strange things happen on replay too. Like 30 seconds of the show will replay randomly throughout.

AI minutes are not enough

DJ feature is cool but also very repetitive.

### 5/5 — Great audio player

*2026-04-06, version 4.1.4*

I love the interface and they did a good job with the features . Has been my go to player for a while.

### 5/5 — The app sorts my thoughts

*2026-04-03, version 4.1.4*

This is amazing for understanding the conversation

### 5/5 — AI is awesome

*2026-03-27, version 4.1.3*

Very well done, team!

### 4/5 — Great App

*2026-03-26, version 4.1.3*

I really love this app. It’s definitely improved. My only disappointment with the new DJ feature is that I can’t hide the transcript. I’d like to see artwork when I’m not using the DJ. Otherwise it looks so busy I can’t keep the app open when playing

### 5/5 — Keep what you learn

*2026-03-24, version 4.1.3*

Such a fantastic app to make sure you retain knowledge from the podcasts and audiobooks you listen to. Pair with Notion/Obsidian and connect that to Claude or another LLM - and you have a way to recall key ideas you highlighted in the past. Plus love the feature that shows what books were discussed - amazing attention to detail by the developers.

### 5/5 — Best podcast app

*2026-03-14, version 3.6.100*

This is easily the #1 app I cant live without. Period.

‘Nuff said.

### 5/5 — Great

*2026-03-14, version 3.6.100*

Application super bonne pour la prise de notes se souvenir du podcast, c’est réellement exceptionnel

### 5/5 — podcast app for serious listeners

*2026-03-11, version 3.6.100*

The ability to take notes, and have the AI generate notes for you, is what makes this app amazing. If you take podcast listening seriously (like I do) and want to really comprehend, reflect, and compile information, this is the app. The ability to “chat” with the episode, and save that as a note it’s probably the best feature so far.

For general use as a podcast app, it is as good or better than many others out there. I really like the way you can queue up episodes and sort them in your queue; something that was not very easy coming from Overcast.

The app is still young, and I see a handful ways to easily improve (1. ability to export audio files, 2. more sorting/filtering snips at a top level, 3. ability export (copy/paste) the transcript, 4. personal “wrapped” style stats, 5. allow mapping of 2 different custom snip prompts [forward/backward], 6. I have more ideas, but that’s enough for a review), but I do see the developers actively making improvements and changes, which is a good sign. There are a couple of bigger, harder, development improvements I wish could take place (web/desktop access), but I understand that’s probably out of scope for a podcast app, and they already have ways to integrate/sync through desktop apps like Obsidian.

However, if you are a heavy podcast listener, 900 minutes (15 hours) a month of AI processing credits is not enough, but you can request more in app (for free, for now). I re-up my AI minutes a few times a month. Would be willing to pay double, maybe triple, for unlimited minutes.

### 5/5 — Hands down the best podcast app

*2026-03-09, version 3.6.100*

My favorite podcast app of all time and I love the ability to save clips of podcasts that I listen to. Very easy to use and intuitive and great looking user interface.

### 5/5 — Perfect ai podcast app

*2026-03-09*

The only one podcast app with in-depth ai implementation and with reliable connectors to other apps that rock.

### 5/5 — The best podcast app

*2026-03-08, version 3.6.100*

Love this app. Easy to snip key points while driving, sync with obsidian, AI processing, ready to go social shares, etc. Good stuff.

### 5/5 — Take podcasts to the next level

*2026-03-07, version 3.6.100*

I’ve been listening to podcasts for about 15 years now. I’ve probably consumed thousands of hours of content. As life gets more busy, I find I have less and less time to be able to listen to everything I want. This app allows me to either summarize a podcast without listening to it or get a good main idea with topics beforehand to see if it’s worth a full listen. This is one of the only paid apps on my phone for a reason. I’m happy to pay $11 to save myself several hours of time each month.

## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated)

### 1/5 — Extrem instabil

*2026-06-07*

Du findest den Chat hier: You -> Settings Icon -> Feedback

### 1/5 — Stop w the trash features

*2026-04-03, version 4.1.4*

AI dj is like a zero value add utterly pointless “upgrade”… meanwhile basic functionality like “when I press play the podcast episode will start from where I lost stopped” only works like half the time now. I’m wasting so much time refinding where I’d previously stopped listening because more and more “pressing play” means the episode is starting over completely from the beginning. Sad when an excellent tool succumbs to such an easily avoidable failure

### 1/5 — App is fine once you make it through the onboarding

*2026-03-04, version 3.6.99*

I'm a subscriber, and had the misfortune of not remembering which authentication to use to log in. So I had to go through the onboarding each time I guessed wrong. It never ends. It has no off ramp. It would have been simpler to delete the app, but even that doesn't get you out of the epic maze. My flight to India took less time than this onboarding.

There are two certainties in life: death and Snipd's epic upsell ad masquerading as an onboarding loop. At least death has an ending.

### 1/5 — Still NO Chinese language support after a long time.

*2026-03-02, version 3.6.99*

They don’t respond to feature requests or feedback.

### 1/5 — Great app - Extremely buggy

*2026-02-26, version 3.6.96*

Enjoyed using the app.
I have lost all my data, podcast queues and other info after the app decided to ask for my logins twice.
Second time without a way to re-connect

### 1/5 — Can't get rid of obsidian pop up two NOW IT'S MOST SNIPPED 2025 One that won't go away. Wth

*2025-12-10, version 3.6.78*

For two days now it's just stuck and you can't use the the app

### 1/5 — A failed concept due to AI

*2025-12-09, version 3.6.78*

The idea is great and I thought it'd be exactly what I needed. An app that transcribes my favorite podcasts and lets me save snippets and quotes. What I got instead is an app that tries to ram AI summaries down my throat at every turn. If I'm already highlighting a great quote from an interview, I want you to snip the quote verbatim, not give me an AI summary of that quote which is not only wordy but also slopifies the original sentence. Sentences like "it's not just x... but y" makes this user experience so terrible I wish all the AI elements never existed.

### 1/5 — Can't get rid of obsidian pop up two

*2025-12-03, version 3.6.75*

For two days now it's just stuck and you can't use the the app

### 1/5 — Promising but unusable

*2025-09-08, version 3.6.33*

I really like what they’re doing with this app in terms of innovating on what we can do as podcast listeners. Unfortunately, I cannot figure out how to get it to play podcast through my AirPods or phone speaker with the phone locked only with the phone unlocked and the display on. Needless to say that isn’t very helpful in a podcast app. Will update when and if this changes and I’m able to give a proper trial.

### 1/5 — Cannot Delete My Account and You Have No Direct Contact Line

*2025-06-12, version 3.6.13*

You allow users to sign up with any email but when I go to delete my account I can only authorize an Apple or Google account which I didn't sign up with so there is no way for me to delete my account and there is no way to get help.

## Most praised reviews (10 highest-rated)

### 5/5 — Best for Knowledge Retention

*2026-08-27, version 4.1.21*

For anyone who wants to retain what they’re listening to, this is hands down the best app. Snipd has carved out an interesting niche for itself. The only two things missing is full video podcast support and hands free communication with AI. Please give us the ability to switch between audio and video, similar to Spotify and YouTube Music, along with the ability to interact with AI using voice for a true hands free experience, ie ask the AI questions during an active podcast with one-touch, ideal for listening while driving and on the go. It would also be nice to have a more dynamic discovery section like Spotify’s, but everything else is perfect!

### 5/5 — Snipd features

*2026-08-23, version 4.1.20*

Overall hands down the best app for listening to lectures on the go! I would just ask for one additional feature. In lectures there are a lot of filler words and back and forth with thoughts and conversations, I understand the thought of the snipd function is to grab excerpts from the lecture, but if we could use the snipd feature to snipd an entire lecture for review that would make this already amazing app more insanely useful. Thank you to whoever thought of this app, well done!

### 5/5 — The best

*2026-08-13, version 4.1.19*

Best podcast app I’ve used

### 5/5 — Huge time saver!

*2026-07-28, version 4.1.17*

highly recommend if you’re impatient like me

### 5/5 — The AI functions are great!

*2026-07-13*

The app highlights key points in the episodes, so you can listen more podcasts, skipping boring parts

### 5/5 — That is what podcast player should be

*2026-06-06, version 4.1.14*

that’s how podcast application like Apple podcast should look like it’s my number one application on iPhone

### 5/5 — Voice booster

*2026-06-02, version 4.1.13*

I listen to podcast at work using my work approved headphones which suck, please bring a feature that boosts the volume or even better custom eq band controls. I love this app

### 5/5 — Amazing

*2026-05-04*

This app is simply amazing. Congrats to the developers!

**Developer response:** Thanks Nando :)

### 5/5 — Love it

*2026-04-20, version 4.1.7*

How did I ever listen to podcasts without the ability to snip and take notes before?? Won’t go back to any other apps — this is the best.

### 5/5 — I couldn’t live without this app

*2026-04-09*

If you’re obsessed w/ knowledge retention, try the free version. You’ll fall in love with the app and upgrade to premium. The free version is already incredibly good in terms of functionality (just limited in terms of # pods/week)
