### 5/5 — Excellent for technical writing and AI workflows

*2026-04-28, version 9.5.102*

Snippety has become a genuinely useful part of my daily workflow. I use it mostly for inserting reusable code blocks, Markdown structures, technical notes, prompts, and other snippets into chats, code, and documentation without having to rewrite or reformat them every time.
For my use case, it is especially helpful when working with AI tools. I can quickly reuse structured prompts, code fences, templates, and common instructions, which makes the whole process feel smoother and more consistent. It also reduces the friction of writing technical text in places that are not always optimized for it, like chat apps or quick notes.
The app feels lightweight, practical, and easy to fit into an existing workflow. It is not just a text-expander for me; it is more like a small personal snippet library for code, notes, and AI-assisted work.
Overall, Snippety is polished, useful, and exactly the kind of utility that quietly saves time every day.

### 5/5 — Bug with AI assistance and selected text

*2026-04-05, version 9.1.48*

Love the app. But in particular using one function which is buggy. If you select text (couple of sentences) and asks to modify it with AI. It drops some of the sentences from selected text. I’ve tested with webhook.site. If you need I will provide screenshots.

Example of selected Thank you, I confirm all is now acceptable. Nothing further is required from yourselves at this stage, we will now begin lease preparation and share a copy of the agreement in due course. Any queries in the meantime please do let me know.

### 5/5 — Best text expander ever.

*2026-02-04, version 9.1.47*

Don't even read this review. I've tried a couple text expanders and this is, by far, the best for Mac, iOS and iPadOS. Very clever way of inserting variables in text.

### 5/5 — Loving it so far

*2026-01-15, version 9.5.101*

I used to use Rocket Typist, and although good, prefer this. Just seems to be more seemless. And love the potential extra power behind it. A week in and very happy.

### 5/5 — This is great.

*2026-01-09, version 9.1.47*

This app is notably well executed.

### 5/5 — Great app

*2026-01-06, version 9.0.46*

Appreciate the constant stream of updates being built and coming in. Thanks for listening to your customers.

### 5/5 — The Best

*2025-12-28, version 9.5.101*

I had AI do some research for me on the best text expander option. I wanted pay once, not subscription. I wanted fast, Mac native and good reviews. I wanted keywords with triggers and/or hotkeys. I wanted clean, simple and without lots of bloat (like Alfred etc). AI recommended Snippety and it couldn’t be better.

Thank you Wojciech - you are doing God’s work.

### 5/5 — Best Snippet App

*2025-11-28*

I’ve tried all the clipboard and snippet apps. I even prefer Snippety on Mac as well and I feel that it’s better than Alfred.

Best part is this works on all my devices and everything syncs perfect without missing a beat.

My one complaint which is actually no fault of Developer or app… but on iPad when I’m using my magic keyboard, pushing the globe button on the keyboard does not switch the keyboard. I have to pull up the on screen keyboard in order to switch to the Snippety keyboard, which is an Apple issue

**Developer response:** Thank you very much for the feedback! Please also make sure to check out the latest AI features :)!

Regarding your feature request, please send me your use case: contact@snippety.app, I'll see what I can do about it.

### 5/5 — Used constantly

*2025-11-15, version 8.0.44*

Snippety is such a hidden gem. I’ve used it every day for the past 3 years. Calendar booking links, email snippets, chunks of code - all of it is instantly accessible. Love this app!

### 5/5 — Excellent Snippet App

*2025-10-26, version 9.4.93*

I had been using Alfred to store my ChatGPT prompts - but the snippets part of Alfred was all I used. I was looking for a more compact prompts solution and Snippety (recommended by ChatGPT) is perfect. The iCloud sync is excellent and much easier to set up than in Alfred - very happy.

### 5/5 — Ускоряет работу

*2025-10-20, version 8.0.43*

Долго искал приложение для сниппетов, в это месть абсолютно все. И шорткаты удобные, и удобное меню вызова, и очень полезная и нужная интеграция с ai.
Очень классно что разработчик обновил приложение для ios 26 🔥 Просто лучшее

### 5/5 — I Love It!!!

*2025-10-11, version 9.4.92*

I love this app. I use it for prompt building with ChatGPT, Claude, and my own locally run chatbots. I also use it for building prompts with StableDiffusion. Based on what model I use can change the way the prompt is built and Snippety is such a huge help.

### 5/5 — By far the best text expander I’ve used

*2025-09-05, version 9.3.91*

I used to use another text expander but Snippety is way ahead. To me, the biggest differentiator is the number of options and the virtual key strokes that you can integrate into your snippets. Highly highly recommended!

### 5/5 — Finally, perfect snippet app

*2025-08-27, version 7.2.40*

This app has amazing sync between mac and iPhone

### 5/5 — Best Snippet Organization.

*2025-08-27, version 9.3.91*

I love this app, coming from Rocket Typist.

### 5/5 — Feature request

*2025-08-25, version 7.2.40*

I was previously using raycast snippets which is obviously not powerful enough for me as I have too many snippets. I love how configurable and extensible snippety is. I use it in every aspect of my coding work. One thing it’s missing and i really want is to auto prioritize the most used snippets on the top snippets list. E.g. if i use a snippets to do renaming, it very likely i will use it again. Putting it on top can get rid of the need to search again.

### 5/5 — The One that Stands Out!

*2025-08-19, version 9.3.91*

The App Store can feel like a jungle — dozens of snippet managers and AI assistants compete for attention. Snippety stands out because it combines a snippets manager with an AI assistant, wrapped in a clever workflow and a simple, pleasant interface. You can tell the developer spent time thinking about real user needs. Having tried many different snippet managers, I find this one both extensive and easy to use. Where other apps sometimes fail to copy the clipboard or transfer selected text, Snippety works smoothly and consistently. As a nice extra, the developer replies to questions quickly and helpfully. A reliable, well-crafted tool — keep it up!

### 5/5 — Very good, nice clean interface

*2025-08-18, version 9.3.91*

I rarely buy software, but I made an exception for this one and no regret. It save me so much time and it also helps to remember cmd that you don’t use often. I guess I will find more and more usage over time.

## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated)

### 1/5 — Doesn’t work

*2025-03-13, version 7.1.39*

The most basic feature of text expansion just doesn’t work on iPad, which is why I bought this for $30! The documentation doesn’t exist for iOS/iPadOS. The keyboard feature isn’t relevant for those using an external keyboard.

### 1/5 — Usefull app, but difficult to learn for the visually impaired.

*2024-09-02, version 5.4.32*

Snippety has the potential to improve every workflow if one succeeds in mastering it's possibilities. The instruction screens and videos are only in night mode and difficult to read for visually impaired users. A pity.

### 1/5 — Review Gating

*2024-07-22*

I'm enjoying the app, but I hate review gating. That's a dark pattern where an app first asks if you're satisfied, and only if you say yes will they solicit a review in the app store. It results in highly inflated scores, and potential users don't get the perspective of dissatisfied users.

That said, this app works well for my needs. I would have rated it 5 stars if the developers hadn't engaged in this practice.

UPDATE: The US Federal Trade Commission states, "don’t ask for reviews only from people you think will leave positive ones." Google Play Store policies do not allow merchants to "discourage or prohibit negative reviews, or selectively solicit positive reviews from customers". They classify it as "fake engagement" and "deceptive content and behavior". It's a shame Apple doesn't take a stronger stance.

I encourage everyone to go read about the practice and decide for themselves if it's ethical. I will always leave a 1-star review for apps with review gating because I've been sold a product under false pretenses.

**Developer response:** The purpose of the feedback question is to gather constructive criticism or to encourage users who fully enjoy the app to leave a review in the App Store. If there are any issues, it's always better to contact us via email to collect all details and continue the conversation if needed. That's why if you answer "No," the app asks if you want to contact us. Many issues can be easily addressed either by using the available functionality or by implementing the requested feature.

Additionally, the app provides a button in the menu bar to rate the application (without any questions). Therefore, the app doesn’t block users from writing negative reviews, as you claim. Furthermore, you can go directly to the App Store at any time to write a review, as you did, which I believe most users are aware of.

Your feedback mentions a very irrelevant feature of the app that doesn't affect its usage. Moreover, your argument is not logical. You claim that the simple feedback question "highly inflates the rating." On the other hand, you state that you enjoy the app and would have given it 5 stars, which confirms that the app's rating is accurate.

Unfortunately, there are some users who are willing to give a 1-star review simply because they can’t find an option. This is why it's better to contact us via email first to see if it is possible to fix the issue. However, I'm glad that the app's community is very positive and provides a lot of feedback that has greatly helped improve the app over time. I wish your feedback had been more helpful.

### 1/5 — Wont sync

*2024-01-10, version 3.2.16*

Wont sync with Mac, and the devs wont awnser any emails. What a shame.
“ Could not synchronize with iCloud. Please check your internet connection and iCloud settings”

### 1/5 — Problems working with macOS Ventura?

*2022-12-24*

It doesn't copy to the clipboard, nor can I paste it in any app.

----
All the troubleshooting areas are green.
Also, I was using karabiner-elements and removed it, but no change.
I am not using any other apps related to keystrokes.

**Developer response:** Hello, there are no problems on Ventura. Please make sure that Snippety has accessibility permission. Also, check if everything is OK in Settings -> Snippet Expander -> Troubleshooting. Additionally, check if no other app is interfering with Snippety (like some clipboard manager).

Please contact by email: contact@snippety.app. Please send all details and preferably include a video recording and I will try to investigate the problem.

### 1/5 — Looses data

*2022-01-16, version 1.0.5*

First is was happy to find a simple snippet manager. However it is not usable. It’s losing constantly data i entered. I could not figure out when data was actually saved/synced. Despite showing snippets were synced, I lost all data of 1 hour work. Very frustrating!

### 1/5 — No iCloud sync

*2021-08-14, version 1.3.17*

I installed both MacOS and iOS apps but they don't sync with each other through iCloud.

### 2/5 — weird decissions

*2023-06-06, version 4.6.37*

-is needed a "copy to clipboard", the "paste" only can be veeery annoying, specially if you have more than one screen.

Developers are copying things all the time into the cipboard.

### 3/5 — An excellent replacement for subscription options

*2026-08-11*

I was a long-time fan of T.E., but after it went subscription and then took its app off the App Store (at least on mobile), I switched to Snippety. Thus far, Snippety is as good or better than its predecessor, and certainly it’s pleasant to not pay a subscription. Since recent security updates, Apple has effectively bricked the app for me. I have tried all the post-login steps recommended, but it will not work after any sort of login occurs. This isn’t Snippety’s fault. This is Apple killing a genre of app.

**Developer response:** Thank you for the feedback and for sharing your experience. The issue you describe is not a known issue with the app, and Snippety continues to work correctly after recent Apple security updates. We would have been happy to investigate this with you directly, as the problem may be specific to your device or setup.

Please contact our support so we can look into what’s happening and help get you back up and running.

## Most praised reviews (10 highest-rated)

### 5/5 — Very Responsive Developer

*2026-08-21*

I tested this as a replacement for an old editor I used to use that now requires an annual fee and cloud hosting. Snippety uses local hosting and no subscription! That alone was the initial hook, but the responsiveness of the developer in answering all my questions and helping me to get pricing for my company put this app well over the top. I don’t review a whole lot of apps and I give even less a full 5-stars, but Snippety gets the whole package right. Keep up the great work!

The one request I would make is to offer some easier way for potential customers to initially get in touch to begin with. When I started a purchase but didn’t complete it, he contacted me and that’s how we initially connected. Prior to that I had been trying to find a way to connect and had been unsuccessful.

All good now, though! Great app!!

**Developer response:** Thank you very much for your review and feedback! I really appreciate it. Enjoy the app!

### 5/5 — So Convenient

*2026-07-11*

This is the perfect text manager. I was looking for a tool that made it so easy and straightforward to save AI prompts and I also wanted that same tool to be convenient and easily accessible. Snippety is perfect for what I need. I also like the constant updates from the developers. It’s always awesome to see developers continue to improve their product. Well worth the price!

### 5/5 — A Utility I’d Install on Every Mac

*2026-07-05*

Snippety has become one of the most useful apps on my Mac.

I use it not only for HTML and CSS snippets, but also for email templates, frequently used text, URLs, and text expansion. It saves me time every single day.

The app is fast, reliable, and easy to organize. The developer also listens to user feedback and continues to improve it.

I highly recommend it to anyone who types the same text repeatedly.

**Developer response:** Thank you very much for your insightful review :)!

### 5/5 — Very Well Designed and Useful

*2026-06-30*

A beautifully designed app for managing a large number of snippets.

It would be extremely helpful if there were an option to adjust the text size of collection labels.

### 5/5 — Next Stop: Watch app Plz. Highly recommended!

*2026-06-08*

I came across this app on Reddit and initially gave it a try and realized the potential and the difference it was making to some of the most challenging admin work that I’ve been struggling with! Upgraded to the paid ver to support the dev and I’ve been on it ever since!

Plz tell me that you’re working on a Watch App for Snippety 🙏

Thank You!

### 5/5 — Great app

*2026-05-28, version 10.0.57*

Appreciate the constant stream of updates being built and coming in. Thanks for listening to your customers.

### 5/5 — Simple and powerful

*2026-05-24, version 10.0.120*

The app is powerhouse which has made repetitive writing faster and more accurate. The ability to create variables in the snippets is also a game changer and has opened up a world of possibilities.

If I have any criticism is some of the features are not immediately obvious, for example you can ‘pin’ the window on top by clicking on the right-hand side of the search bar or icons are not immediately obvious.

When I encountered a bug the creator was quick and resolved it much quicker than I would expect.

### 5/5 — Excellent TextExpander Alternative

*2026-05-19, version 9.2.52*

I don’t think this app gets the recognition it deserves. One time purchase for all devices. Does pretty much what TextExpander does. What’s not to love about it?

### 5/5 — If you need to manage snippets, stop looking, this is your app!

*2026-05-12*

Snippety was already the best snippet app in my opinion but now has shortcuts support on both iOS and macOS!

Dev did a fantastic job with this update. I think adding shortcuts on iOS brings it closer to the power it has on Mac because now when combined with a-shell/iSH it can do scripting in basically any language.

I’ve tested dozens of snippet apps and there aren’t many (if any) that fully match the wide range of features and stability of this app. As far as the competition goes most don’t offer cross platform support, then the ones that do are very bare - but shortcuts puts Snippety in an entirely new game. Only a very small number snippet apps offer shortcut support and they usually offer only very basic actions - such as copy snippet. Snippety just introduced almost two dozen actions to fully manage your library, find and retrieve anything, create and delete snippets, tags, or collections.

As far as automations go, this is going to be more than a 5-10x improvement in my workflow and will probably end up replacing several smaller apps I’ve been using so far.

### 5/5 — On the fence - Update May 2026

*2026-05-09, version 9.2.50*

I downloaded this recently, paid the $20 and played around with it for a bit. I recall the "keyword" working well with the ipad and iphone keyboard. Today (6/17/23) I can't seem to get that feature to work on either device. I could be wrong, and that is a Mac only feature. Unfortunately the developers website is extremely basic and doesn't even contain a basic user guide for any version of the app. Videos on YT channel only show the mac version. Maybe it needs an update? Maybe consider saving your money. I like the UI and concept of this app, but most of the features and functionality can be created in the Shortcuts app for free.

Update May 2026:

Changed rating from 3 to 5 stars. This app is insanely underrated. Though it took me a while to understand the intricacies of this app - I now appreciate both its simplicity and power depending on use case. HUGE PROPS TO THE DEV FOR TAKING THE TIME TO IMPLEMENT ALL OF MY SUGGESTIONS! THANKS!!
