## What is Snorewave?

Snorewave is a private sleep-sound logging app for people who want a clearer view of overnight noise without storing recordings.

Start a listening session before bed. Snorewave uses on-device frequency analysis to detect snore-shaped sound events, then saves only timestamps and intensity numbers. No audio clips are recorded, saved, or uploaded by the app.

Version 2.1 adds Room Setup Coach, a practical readiness score that looks at room noise, phone distance, sensitivity, session length, and recent variability. It gives clear setup recommendations so your overnight logs are easier to compare from night to night.

Core features:

- on-device snore-shaped sound event detection
- no stored audio recordings
- timeline, intensity, and events-per-hour summary
- 7-night digest with quiet streak and trend context
- Room Setup Coach for cleaner logs
- Sleep Sound Lab with calibration, setup checklist, and recent summary
- CSV export for your own records
- session notes and tags for comparing habits or environment changes
- in-app Sources & References with public sleep-health citations
- local storage with no account and no developer cloud

Snorewave is for personal wellness reflection and sleep-sound logging. It does not diagnose, treat, monitor, or prevent any condition. The ranges and summaries are for general orientation only. If you have sleep concerns, talk with a qualified healthcare provider.

## Version history (last 5 releases)

### 2.1 — 2026-06-30

Version 2.1 adds Room Setup Coach in the Lab tab. It reviews room noise, phone distance, sensitivity, recent session length, and trend variability, then gives practical setup recommendations for cleaner overnight sound logs. This update also refreshes source-backed guidance, screenshots, metadata, and the public privacy/support pages.

### 2.0.1 — 2026-06-26

This update sharpens the interface: the iPad layout now uses a centered, comfortable reading width instead of stretching edge to edge, plus small display fixes. iPhone is unchanged.

### 2.0 — 2026-06-21

Snorewave 2.0 — a pro sleep upgrade, still 100% offline and no audio ever saved.

• Snore Score: a nightly 0–100 burden score and grade — not just a raw count.
• Remedy Lab: tag your nights and see what actually changes your snoring.
• Sound composition: a per-night frequency breakdown and a signal-quality read.
• Smart calm-wake alarm: wakes you at a quiet moment inside your chosen window.
• Schedule regularity: a score for how consistent your bed and wake times are.
• Quietest-window finder for each night.

No microphone audio is ever recorded or uploaded — only the timing and intensity of snores, computed on your device.

### 1.3 — 2026-06-20

Snorewave 1.3 adds a 7-Night Weekly Digest and remembers your Lab setup.

- Weekly Digest - the Lab tab now shows a 7-night calendar-day bar chart with color-coded bars (green/blue/yellow/red by snore rate), quietest and loudest night call-outs, and a shareable text summary. Multiple sessions on the same night are merged into one bar automatically.
- Quiet streak counter - track consecutive nights with fewer than 5 snore events/hr, plus your all-time best streak. A simple, honest way to see when environmental or lifestyle changes are working.
- Lab calibration is now remembered - the target recording length, room noise, and phone distance sliders in the Lab tab now save across app launches. Your quality score stays consistent without re-setting sliders every time you open the app.

### 1.2 — 2026-06-17

Snorewave 1.2 adds session export, notes, and a multi-night trend chart.

- Multi-night trend chart in the Lab tab: snores/hr across the last 14 sessions, oldest-to-newest, with a trend direction label (improving / stable / worsening).
- CSV export from any session: tap "Export CSV" to share a plain-text file of every event (time, intensity, band). No audio is ever stored — only timestamps and numbers.
- Session notes: add a short note to each session (side sleeping, nasal strip, no alcohol, etc.) saved locally in JSON.
- Rate context card in session detail: plain-language interpretation of your snores-per-hour with explicit non-medical framing.
- Timing insight card: first-half vs. second-half event split and peak activity hour.
- Personalized Lab checklist built from your actual session data and settings.
- Total hours tracked summary in the Lab tab.

Added an in-app Sources & References section with citations and links for the sleep information.
