I can’t get off that page at all. Closing and reopening the alp, swiping every which way. Nothing works. ### 1/5 — Can’t upload a photo you’ve already taken *2019-11-16* This app is useless because you can’t upload a photo that’s already in your photo gallery. You have to take the photo with the app, but most of the time when you’re out in the woods there is no connection. All other apps I use allow for a photo you’ve already taken, so I’ll stick with those. ### 2/5 — Student project *2020-06-24* Some screens don’t have any way out so you have to force quit the app and start again. The field guide is only browsable alphabetically, scrolling the list, one item filling the whole screen so it’s pretty much unusable. I have a relatively new phone and the latest OS (which has been out for a while) as of this post. I hope they fix it. ### 2/5 — Good with common mushrooms disappointing with exotic mushrooms *2019-09-22* Picked up this app because of its good rating on mushroom identification. There are several mushrooms that I have identified which are not in the data base. Or that the app can not recognized. If your looking for an app to identify common looking mushrooms this one rocks but when you get to the more interesting ones it doesn’t even recognize them as a mushroom. Still a good way to learn because it helps you to find a starting point on your identification searches. ### 3/5 — Good start! *2019-10-28, version 1.1.0* Nice design, however room for improvement. Identify with camera - would be better if you also had the option to load a picture from your camera roll. Really the only feature that’s missing for me ### 4/5 — Love the concept! *2019-11-26* This app is a great concept and easy to navigate and use. I love the design of it. Currently I’ve noticed some bugs (for example, clicking on a mushroom to read more about it often doesn’t have a button to exit out or return to the previous screen), which make the app a little frustrating to use. I’d love to see more information presented about the mushrooms, or at least links to further reading. Great app so far, minus the minor bugs, keep it up developers! ### 4/5 — Great start, keep going! *2019-08-05* Snout is a really cool idea. There is a lot of great content and it can already identify many mushrooms, but there are still a few minor bugs, as well as some genera that are not yet covered. To the developers: great work, and keep it coming! It has a mushroom ID feature that allows you to take a picture of a mushroom you see to help identify it. I’ve had a fun time looking at the different mushrooms and their descriptions, and can’t wait to find more mushrooms in the wild. ### 5/5 — Great approach to mushroom ID *2019-08-01* I really like the approach that this app takes to mushroom identification. It doesn’t claim that it identifies mushrooms correctly every time, and it includes you in the identification process. Mushroom identification is hard, and no AI is good enough to do it without the insight a person brings to the process. The app is simple and well designed. I wish I could save my notes and location so I can come back and find the same mushrooms again. I hope they keep developing the app. ### 5/5 — Super Helpful! *2019-08-01* This app has a nice design and is easy to navigate. It’s super informative and promotes learning about mushrooms. I’m glad they set the right expectation that the app is not to be explicitly followed for eating mushrooms found in the wild. That’s important.
