Having to go to settings to manually change to each individually is cumbersome ### 2/5 — Weather is inaccurate *2026-01-28, version 1.40* The weather is inaccurate. I use Willy Weather data in the app which is meant to pull from BOM and it is wrong by nine degrees. The app is telling me it be a high of 30 here in Melbourne, yet BOM is reporting on their site the temp will be a high of 26. ### 3/5 — Broken again *2025-12-01, version 1.40* This app was great for a long time but seems to have abandoned Canadian users within the last year - environment Canada weather sourcing is totally nonfunctional and requests to support have been ignored. However there has been no update in 3 years and things are beginning to break. For example the location search no longer works! ### 4/5 — Privacy and clear information *2025-02-02, version 1.40* Not sure why so many are complaining about widgets "not working" because I’m on 18.3 and stuff still works. As far as the watch is concerned, the lagginess is an Apple/watch problem/constraint. Faster access and/or visibility to locations would be appreciated, much like Pocket Weather’s summary list, which was great for quick overviews when planning travel or just weather nerd curiosity. Not sure why we’re so limited with locations or the clunky procedure for adding (and consequently losing) them. Nice to have an iPadish app, but the extra blank space on detailed info which is really hard to line up already on the phone is more challenging on the pad. IStat menus are fabulously detailed with a clean interface, but for some reason it doesn’t translate to iOS very well. Pocket Weather already solved the interface and I’d still be using it if I could. ### 2/5 — Disappointed *2024-11-17, version 1.40* Claimed it had very detailed weather, it’s just the basics. And you have the pay $5.99 a year for the customisation. And it doesn’t include last seven days. Like if I am feeling hot, I want to know what the weather was like today to figure out whether the apartment got heated up etc… Also the interface is ugly. Very little customisation, just lists what options you want to show. I liked that I could set humidity as a top option next to temperature. But that’s all I liked. So I wasted a heap of money o. This. ### 4/5 — Almost Great… *2024-10-23, version 1.40* …But absolutely needs lockscreen widgets. I currently have the stock apple small circular widget showing the low/high for the day, as well as the current temperature. However the current temperature is different to Snowflake, and really jarring seeing 19c on the lockscreen and 18 on the homescreen. Subscribed for a year, but not sure I’ll last that long if it’s not included in an update. ### 2/5 — Send help *2024-07-31, version 1.40* The app has not been updated in quite some time and things are breaking. Auf Nachfrage wegen der identischen Wetterdaten bei verschiedenen Providern wurde mir das vom Support mitgeteilt. Es gibt also keine Daten mehr von The Weather Company (TWC), und Dark Sky gibt es schon lange nicht mehr. Hier haben mehrere andere Nutzer nach Meteogroup gefragt. Damit wäre ich auch sehr zufrieden. Diese App wird leider nicht mehr vernünftig gepflegt, denn Stand Oktober 2023 ist das letzte Update schon ein Jahr her. Insgesamt ist es schon eine Frechheit, dafür noch ein Abo zu verlangen. ### 3/5 — crashes on startup maybe every 5th time *2023-07-29* mostly fine, works well, seems to have a different source for weather data than Apple’s weather app. accurate enough for my needs. my problem is that about every fourth or fifth launch/relaunch, the app will lock up for ~45 seconds or so and then drop me back at the springboard like nothing happened. if i launch it again, it opens quickly and correctly. been like this for a LONG time. ### 2/5 — No Updates for Over a Year! *2023-06-01* I’m a subscriber and have used this app since it’s initial release. The weather app market is very saturated. I used this weather app because I liked the simplicity of it, how I could keep my locations, etc. Anyway, this app is falling behind with no widgets, no updates, etc. I cannot recommend it anymore because it appears that the developer has stopped supporting it. MANY other options out there that are IOS 16 friendly and allow for widgets, etc. Come on man! What do lines and color represent. Nothing in help files to clarify main display. Each time I open app hoping to find ‘incredible detail’ I leave disappointed because now way to drill down to what is being displayed. Of course picking location is important but help me get a handle on it - provide axis labels, a key or help file. Perhaps show label with long press. Don’t leave me to guess and close the app again disappointed. 5/16/20 I am at a loss interpreting many of the pages. They have unlabled lines running up and down and colored fields with neither label or value scale. Clearly there is a lot of data here, but I had hope by now they would clarify what the various lines and colored fields on the pages stand for. Humitity, rain probability, A lot of data appears to be her, but without labels and scales how is the user supposed to know what it represents? The only way I could find out how to search for weather in a remote location was to browse the reviews and find the developers response to a complaint by another reviewer. Settings/location is where the search field is located. For me that wasn’t intuitively obvious. I read all the online help and how to search for a remote location wasn’t discussed. I’m OK with the app cost so far. I did buy a one year pro subscription. As a long time user of iSTat I’m confident it will may become my go to weather app. Time spent with documentation is time away from development, but user support before people complain is probably more efficient than the time it takes to respond to individual queries. ### 3/5 — meh!! *2023-01-27, version 1.40* I will probably not subscribe again, despite the fact that it is not expensive. The app looks nice, and the charts are pretty. Problem is: everything is extremely difficult to read: better explanations on the charts would help. Each time I use this app I have no better idea what the weather is going to do. ### 4/5 — Best Australian Weather App *2022-09-16, version 1.40* Just missing iOS16 lockscreen widgets 🙏🏼 ### 3/5 — Lots of data, but no snowfall amounts? *2022-03-09* I realize this isn’t a big deal everywhere, but it really is here in the northeast. As far as I can see, there is no indication anywhere of expected snowfall amounts. There also doesn’t appear to be integration with National Weather Service alerts. In 2 days we’re expecting 8 inches of snow. Nothing in Snowflake warns me about that incoming storm. “Rain mixed with snow” is it’s report for that day. I found out about the storm from AccuWeather, which shows snowfall probabilities across the range of likely amounts and provides the NWS alerts. In places where “a dusting to an inch” can become 12”-16” of snow because of a last minute change of storm track 24 hours out, this is really important data. However, I waited until the iOS 16 release to give this a poor rating. The fact that it’s been broken since the beta dropped in June and there is no day one patch in September to fix it is ridiculous. Is this developer still alive? 9 months between updates doesn’t cut it in 2022. ### 1/5 — Beware of different versions! *2021-11-25, version 1.30* The rain, snow radars etc is only available via subscription on the plus version (which is noted in the fine print on the pic) but shown as a part of the offering on the regular version. These kind of games leave me feeling tricked. With this version you get a reinterpretation of the BOM site if you’re in Australia for your $1.49. Shame on Bjango. Don’t waste your time here. Go get Windy or Carrot Weather instead. Windy free beats the paid version of this hands down. Feeling buyer’s remorse with this app purchase. Bought the app based on my previous good experiences with Bjango products. While it delivers the basic weather info well, I don’t like the radar button being front and centre when it’s only purpose is to remind you are not a ‘Plus’ subscriber. Better it is hidden than act as a way to annoy and beg for the subscription. I love Bjango’s iStat Menus and it’s great weather info delivery but I don’t love this app. My old (free) iOS weather app provides BOM radar and other maps but with this app I have to pay $8+$6=$14 upfront for the same info and then $6 per year ongoing. Better value elsewhere. ## Most praised reviews (10 highest-rated) ### 5/5 — Most accurate weather app I’ve found *2023-11-05* I live in a rural area, and the major weather apps report the weather from the closest city, which isn’t very close. Snowflake is more hyper-local, I assume because it is based on DarkSky weather. Works well with Apple Watch as a complication, though it helps to have a more modern iPhone than my previous XR. ### 5/5 — Works again! *2023-04-15, version 1.40* Had a period of nonfunctionality but seems to be up again! Uses BOM data but also overseas data so when you travel you’re not left stuck. The only downside is that It may not get as many updates as some other apps eg. carrot. My only suggestions would be to have the radar automatically play when you go the maps tab, show wind gusts speed in the current details tab, and speed up the Watch app. Takes quite some time to load (but I am still using an old Series 3). All in all a fantastic weather app and a joy to use. ### 5/5 — My Weather App of Choice *2021-12-01, version 1.40* A great weather app that provides fast access to just the data I need, and in an easily understood format. The app appears to be polished, very mature and free of issues. One inconsistency does stand out. The wind direction arrows at the top of the daily forecast details page point in the direction that the wind is blowing to. However, the wind direction arrows on the wind speed graph at the bottom of the same page point in the direction that the wind is coming from. ### 5/5 — Glad to see this app get an update *2021-11-30, version 1.40* I really like this app. It’s hard to find a privacy focused weather app, and when I do they usually charge way too much for features I don’t care about. The detail that has gone into this app is truly impressive… the only reason I can see for negative reviews is the baffling greed and entitlement culture regarding mobile applications. People expect apps to just be free, and for app developers to just pay the bill for constant API calls to services that supply real-time data. Well let me tell you something, kids… it doesn’t work that way. Designing, building, testing, and maintaining a quality application takes painstaking hours, money, risk… and quality ones cost money. A SMALL AMOUNT when you think about it. Anyway, I won’t coBrunei to rant… I just felt like I needed to say something.
