### 3/5 — Hasn’t worked in a long time

*2025-10-29, version 3.4.2*

Used to be great. I’d use it for bypassing newspapers demanding you to sign up for a subscription just to access a single article published 20 years ago. But that feature hasn’t worked in nearly two years, and I’m pretty much done waiting for it to ever be fixed.

### 3/5 — Naja

*2024-03-25, version 3.4*

### 3/5 — Needs work but it’s ok

*2024-02-03, version 3.4*

Pretty good, but needs work

### 5/5 — Best Secured Browser!

*2023-12-12, version 3.4*

Thank you!

### 5/5 — Excellent Privacy-based Browser

*2023-09-30, version 3.4*

Stable, easy to use, and genuinely privacy-focused. I wish there was a desktop version!

### 5/5 — Top!!!

*2023-09-07, version 3.4*

Bester Browser wenn es um Sicherheit geht; in Verbindung mit tulabyte firewall & system tor einfach super! Sehr empfehlenswert!!! TOP!!!

### 5/5 — This browser is a godsent

*2023-08-09, version 3.4*

Has ad block enabled by default which already makes browsing much snappier plus a lot of customisation options and then there are all the privacy features. 🥰

### 5/5 — This IS the best iOS privacy browser

*2023-08-07, version 3.4*

There is no hyperbole in my review. I've tried close to every browser that isn't just a Safari web shell and this is as close to almost perfect as browsers get. It's the only browser I've found in the app store that blocks WebRTC.

I say almost perfect because of superficial subjective gripes to do with superficial customisation. In regards to blocking customisation it's deep yet clearly communicated as to what each privacy setting will do.

The only feature that I would like to see added is the ability to add my own adblock filters.

### 5/5 — Fantastic

*2023-07-16, version 3.4*

Great browser for taking control of your internet experience. Love that I can default disable JavaScript and only enable if/when I want.

### 5/5 — Best Browser on iOS

*2023-06-28*

Just wish they were putting their best effort into it still. It’s not updated as much as it used to be.

### 5/5 — Excelent

*2023-06-24, version 3.4*

Best browser for privacy

### 3/5 — Security not as good as they purport; usability lacking

*2023-06-04*

Like Firefox and Safari, it is necessary to manually close tabs. This is not only not user friendly, which this company seems to not care about, it is insecure. DDG somehow accomplishes this and remains relatively secure, save its deal with Microsoft. Why must there be this either/or mentality with usability and security? If the scientists, engineers, and coders behind SnowHaze are so brilliant then I would recon they certainly could figure out how to make this a much more usable app. Their attitude is pure techno arrogance, all to common nowadays. Note every time I contact them about this their answer is that they ONLY focus on security. I can tell by their English, I’ve worked around Swiss and other German speaking peoples a lot, that they need some communicative advice. ALSO, it is entirely frustrating that bookmarks move around. This is very bad design. Why not allow user control of bookmarks? Or is this something that the developers can’t or won’t do because it’s too difficult for them to figure out? But I will assuredly still use SnowHaze because of its security. But I’m a person who can deal with extremely granular interfaces. But my mother can’t. My siblings have better things to do as do my friends. The developers are aiming at a narrow audience. Again, techno arrogance. I’m tired of their type of attitude. Secure, yes. Poor design, yes.

### 5/5 — New updated version

*2023-05-25, version 3.4*

I can not longer open this app after its update. I tap on it and it shuts down. Do fix this I implore you. This is my favorite browser! How can I utilize this fabulous browser when I haven't access any longer?
 Please fix!

### 3/5 — Bookmarks?

*2023-05-16, version 3.4*

## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated)

### 1/5 — NO UPDATES!!

*2025-06-11, version 3.4.1*

iPhone warned me today that I was running a version over 6 months old. Turns out the developers haven't updated this app for over a year. Sounds like a MAJOR SECURITY RISK to keep using this. It's a shame because it was my go-to app on iPhone & iPad. We'll see if the developers respond to my review. One star rating based solely on lack of updates. Otherwise I've been quite happy with the app.

### 1/5 — UI change

*2024-06-11, version 3.4.1*

This has been my main browser for the past 3 years but thr latest UI change has forced me to drop the app. Why change what's not broken?

### 1/5 — No access

*2024-04-20, version 3.4*

So this junk app doesn’t know how to connect to a website. Always network error when typing ANY WEBSITE into the app. What gives? Is this just a phony app that pretends like it’s supposed to do something… idk, like connect to the web??? Is this so hard for y’all to accomplish??? When will you start begging for money or how much of my data are you selling to be such as stellar app??

### 1/5 — It was so close to being good...

*2023-11-20, version 3.4*

As much as the general layout of the app and the blocking options it has is enjoyable, the settings are very difficult to understand for the most part. There are too many options NGOs to look over for people who don’t know much about coding and general internet related stuff. On top of this, and the majority of the reason as to why I’m giving it one star, I was on YouTube watching a video, and although my wifi is fine, it stopped playing the video 10 minutes in to me watching and simply refused to play the video. I want to like SnowHaze so bad, but that’s kind of difficult to do when it stops working on the one thing I (mainly) use it for.

### 1/5 — BE VERY CAREFUL USING THIS APP

*2023-08-19, version 3.4*

Can someone associated with this app please explain how & why it is swallowing up loads of gigabytes of data within minutes from my internet account when only doing light surfing using this browser. I could Not understand why my data usage had skyrocketed with my internet provider until I looked up its cellular usage on iPhone & noticed it shot to no1 in app usage. I can’t afford to use this app until I get an answer & it feels unsafe.

### 1/5 — Not

*2022-05-14, version 3.2.1*

App Store version no longer works.

### 1/5 — Love the idea of security, but doesn’t work

*2022-04-16, version 3.2.1*

I love the idea of browsing with security, but this app just doesn’t work. Working slowly is one thing, but not opening pages at all is just not helpful.

### 1/5 — Zu teuer

*2021-03-27, version 3.1.1*

Direkt Geld verlangen für ein Jahresabonnement andere Browser sind kostenlos habe ihn direkt wieder gelöscht brauche ich nicht es müssten viel mehr Leute ihn nicht abonnieren

### 1/5 — False sense of privacy

*2018-07-07, version 2.5.2*

Apparently ineffective against browser “fingerprinting”. Search “Panopticlick” at EFF.

This is the second time I have submitted a review. The first never posted.

### 2/5 — Earth To Developer

*2025-08-09, version 3.4.2*

1. Fix the UI so that
     the lettering in
     menu options
     isn't overlapping
     (duh!).

2. Explain the geek
      terms, so that
      ordinary users
      can understand
      what the options
      mean.

## Most praised reviews (10 highest-rated)

### 5/5 — Still useful

*2026-03-10, version 3.4.2*

Still works very well.

### 5/5 — Stellar

*2025-12-28, version 3.4.2*

By far the most secure, private browser available. Light years better than any of the others. Just wish it could be available on other platforms.

Thanks SnowHaze for making a truly legit privacy & security focused browser that benefits the consumer. Period.

### 5/5 — Stellar

*2025-07-12, version 3.4.2*

Hands down the most potent privacy browser for iOS, but what I really appreciate is the protection it provides you with all the various settings. It will keep websites at arms length and only let in or out what you decide. I also use the extension for browsing on my laptop because the tab siloing works well.

Thanks!

### 5/5 — Alternate Firefox

*2025-02-28, version 3.4.1*

Alternative firefox, due to Firefox’s new TOS and then changing terms of use. Good browser and can change a bunch of settings.

### 5/5 — Fantastic, Privacy Respecting Browser

*2024-12-06, version 3.4.1*

In the age of users being product, it is really impressive to feel and experience what SnowHaze is doing! There is a bit of learning but that’s for greater good. Kudos!

### 5/5 — The most private & secure browser on iOS

*2024-09-10, version 3.4.1*

Built-in adblocker, built-in tracking prevention, tons of other privacy and security focused features, start page search engine by default AND I can lock the app behind a passcode that’s separate from biometrics? I don’t think it can get any better than this. Sure this ain’t the prettiest browser or the most user friendly, but it’s probably the most private and that’s a huge win in my book.

### 5/5 — SnowHaze

*2024-06-29, version 3.4.1*

If you love having a browser on your IOS device that has ‘The Total’ Privacy Package’, Then SNOWHAZE is for YOU….. It’s ‘THE BEST OF THE BEST’ ….PERIOD!!!

### 5/5 — Great app!

*2024-06-01, version 3.4.1*

Large control on privacy parameters.
Less functionalities than other browsers, functionalities that are not inherently needed on a browser (password manager, identities,…) and are not missed.
I don’t like the visualization of tabs, and it doesn’t seem possible to change that. Otherwise the design is great!

### 5/5 — The best privacy browser for iOS

*2024-05-10, version 3.4.1*

This is the best privacy browser I have found for iOS, and it is now my default browser. The granularity with which you can control the settings and throughtful additions like detection of potential tracking parameters on URLs, per-tab settings, changeable browser agents and "hints" at which settings are most secure by the shade of green displayed in the setup make it head and shoulders above the others. Some users may find the customizability a little daunting at first, but you can always start with the defaults and make incremental tweaks. Personally, I like to disable JavaScript, then only allow it on a one-time basis for most sites if required. That said, there are a few irritations, but these can be found on some other privacy browsers as well: - No way to see which bad elements/trackers are on what page. The total is tracked, but I'd like to see which sites are using which trackers. - Lack of a way to organize bookmarks - they end up in a big pile. - You have to wait untils crolling stops to long-press and go into tab actions. Short press on the icon doesn't have the same problem. This browser has a permanent place on my phone, hopefully it will continue to be maintained for a long time to come!

### 5/5 — Privacy claims appear accurate

*2024-04-16*

Websites seem to forget after switching VPNs and resetting, which is perfect. This cannot be said for any Firefox version, Brave, or Safari in the short term, particularly on sites owned by Google. I had no browser on my phone for a little under a week because they all track too aggressively. The VPN service is unnecessary for me, and isn’t pesky about me signing up. Great UI and settings organization also!
