### 3/5 — Doesn’t Autotrack Runs

*2024-02-04*

I've used this app for a few years now, and it's worked perfectly for its entirety up until I upgraded from an iPhone 11 to an iPhone 14 Pro. It now doesn't track my runs correctly, and after a day of skiing, it says I've only done a single run. Everything else works fine, though. Even when I go onto the satellite map, it shows gaps where I was skiing that it didn't pick up. I hope this gets fixed soon cause I loved this app when it worked. PLEASE FIX!! 🙏🙏🙏

### 3/5 — Love it, but hasn’t been working

*2023-01-27, version 3.0.3*

I’ve been using Snoww for the past 4 ski seasons and I love keeping track of my speed, ski days, distance, etc.
The app got very glitchy and logged me out and I can’t log back in or create a new account. Seems like no one is maintaining the app.
I’m very sad because I lost all my stats for the past seasons. 🥹

### 3/5 — Calories.

*2022-12-24, version 3.0.3*

Great application but needs fix calories counting. First day when I use it it worked OK. Every time after it recorded les and les amount of calories. For example first day around 1600 next day for the same activities 260 day after 180 and other day 106. Contacted customer service several times with no response. Will going back to Ski Tracks.

### 4/5 — I like app, be aware that Apple Watch version doesn’t record any dat

*2022-12-18, version 3.0.3*

I’ve used snoww for 3 years, always on my iPhone. This year, tried on consecutive days to record tracks, but snoww detected nothing. My other Apple Watch ski tracker worked fine.

Still like the iPhone app, just wish the watch app worked. Best!!

### 3/5 — I write this as an update drops

*2022-04-12, version 3.0*

The app was just updated moments ago, but my review will stand for a bit.

“It’s been one helluva ride, but the ride stops here. The snow app was great, better in some ways than slopes, but it’s now long neglected. I’ve exported my data and, unless I see some kind of update for this app, this is the end for me. I thank the developer for all the obvious hard work that went into creating this app. It helped me set goal, ride harder and have more fun than ever before. I’d love to see the snow accumulation stats and the temperature stats fixed. I’d love to see the leaderboard filters to allow saving of filter settings, and I like to see the end of “follow this pro rider who doesn’t even use the app” messages. Let’s get rid of that altogether. Following pros is lame. Riding is what drives us. Anyway. Thanks. The last three years have been insane”

### 2/5 — Nonexistent customer support

*2021-03-31, version 2.1.9*

I sent them an email in December and have yet to hear back (not that I’m expecting to though 😂😂). The only reason I gave 2 stars is because if you’re friends with someone you can see where they are on the mountain, granted the app is working at the time lol

### 4/5 — Awesome tracker, needs gps export capability

*2021-03-21, version 2.1.9*

Snoww is a great tracker with a clean interface and excellent trail map integration. The find friends feature alone makes the app worth downloading and forcing all your friends to use.

I wish the app had gps export or sync to strava capability though, for this reason I'll probably continue to use other apps.

### 4/5 — Nice app to track skiing

*2021-01-20, version 2.1.9*

Easy to use and nice sharing features. I would like a set of fields that track things like snow conditions, weather etc. Also, the gps find friend feature can have a wide range of direction to your friend. I’m not trusting the direction from the few times I’ve used it. But for the basics, nice app.

### 5/5 — I love this app!

*2021-01-16, version 2.1.9*

I’ve been using it for 3 ski seasons from the East Coast to the big mountains out West. It’s very accurate and loaded with great features like map, time on the slopes, altitude, number of runs and more. Also great info on runs from GPS, length of runs, max speed, average heart rate. I run it in tandem with my Apple Watch to get more than enough info. Also fun to upload photos as memories specific to the day and location. Highly recommend!

### 2/5 — Bug when upgrading phones (or iOS?)

*2020-12-14, version 2.1.9*

I went from a iPhone 6S to a iPhone 12 Pro, and skied a few times with the app since I upgraded. I noticed it never uploaded any of my runs because everything in the app stated “no internet connection found” despite having Wifi and 4G/5G. There was no help site, FAQs, bug submissions, or anything this company could do to help me out. The app also has not been updated for almost a year.

My only solution to fix this was to delete the app and redownload, but unfortunately this solution loses your offline data that has not been uploaded (so I lost a few runs from uploading). This would be the downfall of an app like Strava, so I’m surprised an issue like this appears in snoww.

I’ll probably keep using it because it’s a free option to tracking runs and it works pretty well, but the lack of support for critical bugs where I lose data I tracked deserves 2 stars. Otherwise it’d be a solid 4

### 3/5 — Great app, some bad info

*2020-02-17, version 2.1.9*

Good app, good stats on your runs and adding friends, comparing stats is fun! It takes a while for the app to update on from your watch, and it gives you trophy’s but doesn’t tell you what the trophy’s are for and what you did to accomplish them which is pretty lame.

### 5/5 — Better than Slopes

*2020-02-15, version 2.1.9*

This app is a great snow tracking app with awesome apple watch companion. There’s also cool functions to track and broad cast live locations. Best of all, it does not cost anything to use!(I’m looking at you Slopes) thank you developer. Keep up the good work!

### 2/5 — Dead App Walking

*2020-01-30, version 2.1.7*

The support structure and online presence of this developer are nearly non existent. The app has gone for almost a year without an update. The few social media pages dedicated to the app haven’t been updated since 2018. I’ve emailed the feedback email address and never received a reply.

Nevertheless, I will say the app was designed beautifully and the various services still work. I really love the design and thought that went into it. However, the various stats, especially the speed tracker, are not as accurate as the competition. Also the weather system does not work at all. I have no faith that these issues will be fixed.

### 3/5 — App won’t track sometimes

*2020-01-12, version 2.1.5*

I’m having an issues where I start the app and it will only track my time and not any runs. It is extremely frustrating and has happened about three times.

## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated)

### 1/5 — Gets worse as time goes on

*2024-03-12*

I’ve had this app for about five years. It was great at first. Tracked all runs, distance, max speed, chairlifts ridden, etc. But the last couple years it started to fail. It will now only sync with my Fitness App if I start it on my Apple Watch. If I start it on my I-Phone it doesn’t sync with my fitness app. And now it appears to be tracking all of my data for the day, but as soon as I save at the end of the day, all of my data disappears. I’ve tried searching for fixes, but can’t find anything. It looks like the last update was more than a year ago. I will need to find a new app.

### 1/5 — Very poor tracking

*2024-01-29*

Maybe it is user error, though I can’t imagine what I did wrong, but on both days of skiing, tracking gave extremely inaccurate information on core details like number of runs, vertical drop, etc. For example, I probably did 8-10 runs and the app counted 2, despite showing on the map all the points I covered (roughly—it jumped around a fair bit). It also showed something like 64 vertical feet for the last run when it should have either been several hundred or ~0, depending on if my pause for lunch outside counted as a break in the run. Had very high hopes for this app, but at least from my experience, it seemed to be pretty worthless.

### 1/5 — Not accurate reporting, log in errors

*2023-01-27, version 3.0.3*

I got this app from a recommendation. From the start it wasn’t reporting my calories correctly. I would ski 18 miles and it would say 56 cal of energy spent. It did this on 3 different ski trips. I decided to uninstall it and download it again to see if it fixed it but now I can’t log in. Tried for 3 days and says log in error. At this point, I’m looking to try another ski app for better results.

### 1/5 — All My Data Deleted

*2021-01-13, version 2.1.9*

The app has a bug where your activity will be in a state “Pending upload - internet connection required.” Despite having cell service or wifi connection. I tried everything including logging out then back in which caused all my data since the bug started over a month ago to be deleted.

### 1/5 — It said I went too fast to be on the leaderboard😭

*2020-03-05, version 2.1.9*

So I went 81 MPH with a snowboard going downhill like a scared antelope running from a cheetah. Like a mouse running from an owl. Like a dog running to see it’s owner.. Such determination would have awarded me the Nobel Peace prize for going so fast and not killing anybody. Just an Oklahoman trying his best. The speed I accomplished would have put me in 1st place on the leaderboard and I would have beat the 2nd place contender by 2 MPH; not a massive margin. However, this app is claiming that 81 MPH is too fast and will not allow for my max speed to be counted on the leaderboard.. it would be naive of me to think that I am the only one to exceed 79 mph, however with the top 4-5 people clocking in at 79 I find it hard to believe they haven’t tried for at least 80. I mean what’s 1 MPH when you’re already going 79 lol. In conclusion, I would like to be included in the leaderboard and not excluded for going too fast. Sincerely, The Oklahoman trying his best.

### 1/5 — Stats Not Accurate

*2019-12-31, version 2.1.5*

Snoww is not consistently accurate with any of it’s metrics. I downloaded the watch app hoping it would be more accurate than the phone app, however, they seemed about the same. If you have it recording while on a chair lift or gondola, it will record that as a run occasionally, which is ridiculous because you are clearly going uphill. It also randomly doesn’t record and save runs to a session.

I love the idea of leaderboards and other fun features, however, they are filled with people getting to the top of the leaderboard with cheats like driving.

Overall, if you are at a mountain that has resort specific tracking capabilities like any Epic Mountain don’t waste your time with Snoww.

### 1/5 — Super buggy, rarely work

*2019-02-09, version 2.1*

It’s great when it works the first 2 times, but more 60% of time it simply doesn’t work. In the past 11 sessions, it has lost my session more than half of time. Either after session recorded won’t upload, or entire session just disappeared. Multiple times it just lost the session for no reason. Even after updated to latest version. And the app drains Apple Watch battery like crazy. Multiple time it only record part of the run. This for running on iPhone X and Apple Watch 4.

### 1/5 — Distance inaccurate, if phone or watch dies, all data lost

*2019-01-05, version 2.0.2*

This has happened multiple times. 1000+ vertical off between this and my epic. 1000+ off between me and my partners distance-and we did all the same slopes.

I have this app on my Iwatch3, and my iPhone 8+. Sometimes the app will just stop. If it stops, all data is lost. If the watch or the phone dies, all data is lost. This is a problem, as phones and watch batteries will run out on the slope. I understand it doesn’t record after the battery dies, but why isn’t the data stored or backed up so that once the power comes back on, it resumes.

Sometimes runs that were completed just disappear. I did well over 4 hours of skiing one day, and it shows 2 runs (instead of the 10 that I did) and a fraction of the vertical covered. I’m going to SkiTracks.

### 1/5 — Loses data and doesn’t sync data watch to phone

*2018-12-14, version 2.0*

After 2 full days testing the app via my Apple Watch 2, so far I’ve lost a full days boarding and after today my watch says I’ve got awards and shows the runs and times, but these aren’t being sync’d to the app on my iPhone XS now can I see any data about these runs in the Apple activity app. Wish I’d used Strava, at least I know it works!

### 2/5 — Medium at best

*2022-11-26, version 3.0.3*

If this thing asks you to login again when you’ve used ut many times, the you start a ski day, it goes through the annoying start process with its beeping and and the end of the day: nothing… i also used ski tracker (average features but at least it works) and now i’m downloading strava that seems way way better.

## Most praised reviews (10 highest-rated)

### 5/5 — Great app

*2023-12-03*

I love the app, I have used it for the past 3 seasons and It has worked fantastic. My one request to the developers would be to add a feature to see how many days I spent on each of my skis in a season. I know I can see by looking back at all my days individually but it would be very nice to have a way to just see the stats on that kind of stuff.

### 5/5 — GET THIS APP

*2023-04-02*

I was snowboarding with my friend and we both had this app downloaded. We got halfway down a run when my friend realized his phone had fallen out of his pocket at some point further up. We were able to use Snoww’s tracking feature from my phone to find its exact location on the mountain. 10/10 highly recommend you are your friends get it for the slopes.

### 5/5 — Amazing app

*2023-02-12, version 3.0.3*

When I ski I always wonder, how fast am I going? Or, how many calories have I burnt or how many runs I did. This app records every run you do on the map and you can see what route you took. Personally, this app helps me see my skiing stats and how I can improve everyday while skiing or snowboarding.

### 5/5 — Can’t change user puck colors?

*2023-02-11, version 3.0.3*

Seems like a simple addition. White pucks blend in with the default maps too much.
Otherwise, I’ve found no issues. Great app

### 5/5 — I love Skiing.

*2023-01-06, version 3.0.3*

This app is absolutely essential for skiers! It keeps track of my runs and allows me to keep track of my friends on the mountain. I think everyone should get it!

### 5/5 — Has never failed tracking

*2022-12-16, version 3.0.3*

Has never failed tracking

### 5/5 — Amazing

*2022-03-19, version 2.1.9*

I use this app every single time I ski… it’s super easy to use and I always really enjoy looking at all my stats after a long weekend of skiing.

### 5/5 — I guess it’s time to say goodbye

*2022-03-04, version 2.1.9*

I tried a few apps before settling on Snoww. Besides the clean design, I really liked the social aspect and it was a great way to communicate with the rest of my family - see where they were on the mountain, etc.

Unfortunately, it appears the developer has walked away from it as there has not been an update in two years. I understand the pandemic threw a wrench into things but I’ll sadly have to explore other options. I just wish I could export all my data from the last four seasons.

So long, Snoww! You were great fun while it lasted!

### 5/5 — How do I track my friends on mountain

*2022-01-31, version 2.1.9*

I lost my friends and did not find them for like an hour(they all have the app) other than that lots of fun

### 5/5 — Tried them all, this is my favorite

*2021-12-15, version 2.1.9*

Tried all the ski tracking apps. This is my favorite so far. But, no updates in a year? Come on devs, they won’t be #1 for long if they don’t keep updating.
