All of the values are shifted down one space starting with iodine. It looks like it has a 227 for lauric, which would be insane! Ruins all of the recipes that include this oil. Hopefully they will fix in an update soon! ### 2/5 — NOT thesame as soap calc *2020-03-02, version 1.5* I don't like it. It does not allow me to caculate Lye to water ratio.... hard to read too. I wish i did not made the purches. ### 3/5 — I can’t find a list of recipes I saved *2019-12-11* I just purchased the app, I love how it works and suggest the safer recipe however once I save recipe I can not go back unless I delete the data so I can add new one. You need to add a favorite list so we can save our own recipe and go back to it rather than screenshot each one. Otherwise, app does calculate fine, I just don’t see where I can add the fragrance oils. ### 3/5 — Lye calc not accurate! *2017-08-27, version 1.5* This app doesn't factor in the 90% purity of KOH. It will calculate less causing issues with dual lye soap recipes. Please fix this issue. ### 4/5 — Possible future updates? *2016-02-13* I purchased this program about a month ago and use it daily and find it very nice to work with. I think a couple user add ons would enhance the OS for better functionality, as there a few things that bugs me S follows; - Being able to print the recipe as per the final page and not as a html code. - being able to delete old recipes that don't work and able to edit a saved recipe; and - having a total oils use in kg/g/ounes/lbs T the beginning to give you %'s etc Failing that a good program....thanks ### 4/5 — Love it *2014-12-29, version 1.2* I love this app. It helps me out a lot. After I get the whole recipe in I can't calculate because it crashes! Constantly uninstalling and reinstalling! ### 4/5 — Really nice, but not able to add Lemon juice *2014-06-06, version 1.2* Really nice job, but when inputting my favorite recipe I can't input lemon juice, which is used to lower the Ph. Throws my calc off. Sure wish developer would add that and vinegar as options. Pretty pretty please.... ### 2/5 — Stopped Working *2014-03-31, version 1.2* This program was working fine for the first three times I used it, now it will not even start up, very upset about this, what is going on, I want my money back if it can't be fixed! ### 3/5 — App is hung *2014-03-11* This app worked like a charm for well over a year but all at once the app will not open for iPad or iPhone. All are stuck in the start up page. There are no updates for this app not does there appear to be a way to contact the developer to report bugs. Other users have similarly reported this problem in the reviews but there seems to be no way to resolve the problem. Update: Was able to use again by turning wifi OFF, then go to the app. It should work again then go back and turn the wifi on again. Can't explain why this works but it saved me. I didn't lose any recipes and have been able to create and save new ones! ### 3/5 — No Support! *2014-01-19, version 1.2* There is no support from the developer. The main reason I purchased this was for the resizer which does not work. The is a slide bar at the bottom next yo the oil weight. I would assume if you have 80 oz of oil should be able to slide the bar to adjust. Fix the bugs or return payment and I will delete the app and use another calculator...........4 days later it is working again. When I bring up the app on my phone or iPad...absolutely nothing happens! It doesn't open. Very disappointed. How can I get my money back, to spend on an app that actually works? ## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated) ### 1/5 — Just terrible *2018-08-18, version 1.5* I just got this and I can not recommend it. It only allows you to calculate water as % of oils (which isn’t a good idea to begin with) and other numbers it recommends are outright insane. One of the things I do when looking at a soap calculator is I run simple, tried and true recipes I’ve used through it to see what happens. On a 2 pound recipe it recommended 100 oz of fragrance oil and 2 + pounds of water! Tl;dr: use the soapcalc website or do your own math. This app is bad ### 1/5 — Don't waste your money *2017-06-29, version 1.5* This doesn't have any options for essential oils and the calculations are way off. ### 1/5 — Can't trust *2017-04-03* It's hard to trust a calculator that tells me I need 422g of fragrance for 650g of oils! ### 1/5 — Why has this app stopped working? *2014-03-31* This app no longer works on my ipad. I've tried deleting and reinstalling, but it still only show's the front screen. I wish the Water as Percent of Oil would go a little lower than 20% because I usually use 16.5%. Tap on a fat for all soap properties (great information). Calculates water and lye plus several qualities your recipe will have such as bubbles, hardness, creaminess, cleansing, etc. Looking at results allows you to modify your recipe Name and save your favorites. Adjust for superfats. More. Well done. ### 4/5 — Great program.. Needs some tweaks *2016-05-24, version 1.5* I've been making soap for a couple of years now and use this calculator a lot. I really like it! I think it needs some tweaks, though. First, it needs to separate my recipe from the auto balanced one by using different colors, or better yet by putting the auto balanced recipe on a separate page. I was in a hurry this morning and mistakenly used the auto balanced lye amount instead of the recipe amount (I haven't made soap in a while). I might not have made that error if the auto balanced recipe was separated from the actual recipe. Second, the auto balanced recipe should try to calculate using the same total amount of oils as is in the entered recipe. Auto balance is always low, so I have to adjust it up.
