### 5/5 — Take all the help you can get

*2020-10-06, version 4.1.0*

App seems to have dealt with the issues of scammers who were all over the place when I first started my account. Simple counter, daily tools, and a running feed from other folks posting about where they are and what they are doing. It helped me get over the hump and stuck to it. Support when you need it and a way to give back encouragement to others when you’re able.

### 5/5 — Thank you sober grid

*2020-08-23, version 3.5.9*

The most difficult part of the recovery process is the beginning. All you really need is someone who has gone through the storm to guide you. You wouldn’t take driving lessons from someone who has never driven before, so why in trust your recovery to someone who has never recovered? Would you board a plane if the pilot has only read a manual? Same thing, right. There are people in this app who has been through what you are going through and wants nothing more than for you to succeed. Take my word for it THIS is the place if you are ready to see what life really has to offer.

### 5/5 — Helpful tool to connect and stay on track!

*2020-02-23, version 3.5.1*

I like that you can speak to other people who are sober or trying to stay sober. Seems to be a lot of support. Just wish more people in my area would connect as well! Have not yet tried the coaching part as I am more old school in the sense that I would like to speak with a person face to face. Overall though, easy to use and has daily check in’s which I like to use for just that.

### 5/5 — SG Community

*2019-10-16, version 3.4.18*

This community app helps me in so many ways that it’s difficult to list all the positive ways.
Since incorporating this app and all its features into my life and recovery/sobriety program I have found a great supportive network of people near and far that’s encouraging, supportive, inspirational, resourceful and I am also able to do the same for others seeking a connection with fellow seekers of a better lifestyle and journey. We are all working together daily in living, reaching out and sharing our strength, hope, struggles and what helps us maintain our abstinence either in programs or online. The app is either able to be used as guided or individually, groups and socializing with like minded people.
It’s the best recovery/sobriety social app I have come across and I am grateful for it. Love it🥰

### 5/5 — Saving my soul.

*2019-09-22, version 3.4.18*

I can’t rave about this app enough! Recently out of inpatient and working on my outpatient program, I found myself being okay and content not using a social media app while working on my recovery process. Sober Grid has provided me with an excellent social media alternative while helping me keep my focus and helping me track my progress. This tool has kept me very much balanced and has continued keeping me more aware and mindful which were all things I needed to stay on track with my recovery goals both mentally and physically. Thank you Sober Grid for the fantastic alternative and helpful resources. 10’s across the board! 😌☺️💛

### 5/5 — So glad I found this app

*2019-08-17, version 3.4.18*

I’m in recovery and lost my husband to addiction. I suffer from anxiety, depression and PTSD pretty bad so I wasn’t comfortable going to meetings with strangers even though even though I had family members willing to go with me. This app has helped me open up more and to meet others going through similar situations and they help open my shell so I can begin to heal. I’m very grateful for the friends I’ve made on Sobriety Grid!!! If you are going through it you are going through it you’re not alone. Join us we’re here for you. Disclaimer: im not a paid spokesperson I just really love the app and the community. Come give it try you have nothing to lose and everything thing to gain.

### 5/5 — Must have app for sobriety!

*2019-07-13, version 3.4.17*

This app helped me immensely during the beginning of my sobriety. There is always someone to talk to that is going through exactly what you’re going through. Or someone that has already gone through it and can give you advice. I have also gotten great book and podcast recommendations on here. I highly recommend this app if you are planning on quitting or just taking a break.

### 5/5 — Clean & Sober 100

*2019-02-12, version 3.4.12*

SoberGrid has been an outlet for me to express myself, as well as allow me to reach others. It has given those of us a voice, a voice in which to tell our story. This app is more than just another app- it brings hope to the hopeless. Those who have been lost in this world due to addiction. We now know that we have each other, that we are not alone in our struggle. Thank you SoberGrid!

### 5/5 — A Great Network and Tool!

*2019-01-27, version 3.4.12*

When you first stop drinking, one of the hardest things is adjusting the dynamics of your friendships, in particular if you have friends that drink with you when you hang out. Some friendships get over it, others find it hard, and sometimes the sober person can become or feel alienated.

SoberGrid allows that alienated person to find connections with people that have similar goals or mindsets with regard to alcohol. Even if you might not have someone nearby that you can hang out with and do non-alcohol related things, you can post and have an audience of people that GET IT, or even chat with someone directly.

We live in an alcohol-centric society, and it’s just a friggin’ breath of fresh air having this app.

Beyond the social aspect there’s also the positivity of daily inspirational reading, a tracker that rewards you with trophies for quoting, and a personal profile where you can share things about yourself. Feeling a craving or broke down? There’s a check-in and burning desire share feature so others can come to your aid.

Everyone seems really awesome so far. It’s a very positive community and I’m happy to be part of it!! 😄

### 5/5 — Great sober resource!

*2018-12-29, version 3.4.8*

I have been it out patient and in patient treatment. Both were good. I love my AA meetings and they work for me. But Sober Grid adds so much to my sobriety. It keeps it real by giving me a social media platform where everyone has the common goal of sobriety. The daily check in is very helpful to me and I’ve made connections I never would have otherwise. If you are trying to stay sober and looking for a good resource, use Sober Grid.

### 5/5 — This app saved me

*2018-12-16, version 3.4.8*

Without going into the mess of it too deeply, I messed up pretty bad and lost my marriage and will to live to alcoholism. Meetings were great but there were times and days that I just couldn’t make it. This app allowed me to connect anytime anywhere to people near and far. I highly recommend this app to anyone who is struggling and needs a support system that is always there no matter what.

### 5/5 — Better than Facebook :-)

*2018-10-31, version 3.4.7*

This is nothing more than a social app someone like Facebook. That… The cool thing is everyone is working on recovery. It’s great because you can ask people questions who have been down roads that you might be about to pursue and find out just about anything you would like to know. Everyone I have met so far are really great people! All in all, I love the site… Much better than Facebook!

### 5/5 — I don't review apps like I should but

*2018-10-04, version 3.4.3*

This app though, y'all. I waited over a week to review it just to make sure I loved it as much as I thought. Absolutely. SO MUCH. I'm a girl scout at heart so I love earning the badges for my sobriety. I love connecting with people and receiving support and inspiration. Honestly this is like a pocket meeting without the steps - but with the fellowship, the motivation, and the back-patting. I love starting my day with a pledge and ending it by checking in! Give back to this app and it will reward you 10 fold. 10/10 highly recommend!

### 5/5 — Very motivating!

*2018-09-23, version 3.4.3*

As someone who has struggled to remain sober for long stretches of time, this has been a great help for me. The support system is amazing and keeps me motivated to stay clean.
I will say that it’s probably smart to not use your real name, a real picture of you, or give out any personal information, because there are some weirdos on there. But for the most part, it’s my new favorite app and I love keeping track of my progress on here.

## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated)

### 2/5 — Buyers beware

*2023-05-20*

This app has been defunct since the creators left it to the hands of other non certified developers. This app is a loose thread in recovery and may need to better function with newer ideas like calm app and other cbt free app features for those who can process therapy for free like Wysa app for cbt therapy and ai coach therapies. I feel this app is severely detrimental to new beginnings and newcomers in recovery and could be slated for a better social media platform at their targeted level in recovery members of this app. It just doesn’t fit the criteria of those who are willing to work a program of recovery rather than deceit towards using for many of the individuals on here. I noticed a few members wallowed on their losses and on the creators support which I can empathize but gee wiz there are a lot of people out there willing to get support in their recovery. Just icymi.

### 2/5 — Sober Grid is becoming a trolling sight

*2018-11-09, version 3.4.7*

Both my partner and I have over only 100+ days and our experience is that Sober Grid is rapidly becoming a Social Grid with “whoopee posts, trolling comments, and many abusive posts to those there to get help trying to get and stay sober”! We have (and many others) tried to suggest they have either a group member and/or an assigned staff to police the daily posts as they are presented - possibly needing approval before appearing. Yesterday a guy posted a joke about peeing a circle around his wife and another guy posted and automatic weapon. My wife has quit and moved on looking for another group - I am still trying to hope Nick and Mike will wake up and realize the sensitive nature of their AP

### 3/5 — Helpful

*2022-03-20, version 5.1.3*

I’m all for anything that promotes the outreach of recovery to those that need. I may have certain personal principles that don’t parallel those that control this company, but I agree that every possible avenue needs to be pursued so that people can get the help they need. Being in recovery myself and being ex career peer recovery support, I know the epidemic from a multitude of viewpoints, I recommend this app even more so given the challenges of the pandemic, the limitations in local government and medical resources, as well as the stigma and general attitude of the public towards people who struggle with addiction and mental health problems. Thank you for this resource and those who participate for nothing more than to help the next addict in turmoil and bring them the chance of a better life!

### 3/5 — Keeps closing when trying to chat

*2020-09-03, version 4.0.0*

I have been on the app for some time now. I used it frequently and liked it very much. It was part of my day. I don't know what change, in an update or somewhere, has taken place but now the app closes repeatedly and it detracts the usage and fun of the app. If I attempt to respond or chat, it closes. If I scroll down reading other things people posted it closes. I am not the only one experiencing this. I posted the problem I am having and numerous others responded they are also seeing this. Note to Developer: please look into this issue. Thank you.

### 4/5 — Helpful Tool for Sobriety

*2021-11-21, version 5.1.1*

I’ve been using SG for three years, and I really like the check-in and daily task list. It helps me engage in my program, and allows me to provide help to others in an easy-to-access way. I would love a feature that would keep me accountable with my daily check-ins and offers praise/“reward” for a streak of consecutive check-ins, etc. Otherwise, it’s a great app that I routinely recommend to other people.

### 4/5 — Great

*2021-01-03, version 4.1.6*

This app is what I needed I deleted my FB and messenger because it was to distract and very triggering so somebody texted me literally the next day with a link to SG and I was amazed at what I saw it was JUST like FB in terms of look but the FEEL of going to a meeting everybody is so positive and supportive and it’s a great atmosphere only thing that stopped me from giving this app 5stars is because it can be slow sometimes or lags a bit but other than that I love it and I’m glad I was introduced to this app I needed it!

### 4/5 — Helpful. Anonymous. I like it.

*2017-09-16, version 3.3.16*

I wanted something to help me keep track of how many days I can go without a drink. It does this with encouraging daily tasks that get you engaged, keep you busy, and connect with other people that are trying to do the same thing. Plus you can be anonymous, so you can do it on your own without friends and family knowing your business, but still get encouragement from people who understand the struggle. I'm only a few days in, but I think I'll stick with this. Thumbs up.

### 5/5 — Number 1 National Telehealth App

*2022-12-10, version 5.1.5*

Sober Grid is the number one app of its kind nationally. This is the opinion of myself, one mental health telehealth treatment expert and over 300 current and past clients.I have used Sober Grid as my go-to sobriety resource with my clients for well over ten years. My clients have met with success in every single instance. My professional review, along with client reports indicate that this app addresses developing healthy lifestyles through lessening your dependence on alcohol. It is with no reservation whatsoever that I highly recommend your use of Sober Grid in your own personal struggles with sobriety.

### 5/5 — Really helps! Wish I would have signed up yeses ago.

*2022-04-29, version 5.1.4*

When I first found this app, I didn’t sign up because I was afraid that I would encounter people I knew. But, after signing up, I found that everyone is from all over the country and world. I feel kind of anonymous, yet I have made several personal connections and real friends. And everyone here is full of positivity and support! When I log on daily, I have so much more resolve, optimism and ease to handle cravings and related issues. This is the best place for anyone wanting to get sober and those who want to stay sober.

### 5/5 — Definitely helpful

*2022-03-16, version 5.1.3*

While I dont feel this is enough to build a firm foundation in recovery, i do find it an additional helpful tool. Im in long term recovery and this didn’t exist when i got clean but wish it did. What i really like is a) the anonymity if you choose, b) the fact that you can reach out to people with similar issues or interests such as ptsd, cbt, alternative pathways to recovery or narcotics anonymous as well as see who is nearby you, c) it’s wonderful for those 3:00 in the morning emergency situations when you don’t want to wake anyone but feel like you need to reach out for support to get through something (very helpful when you have a chronic illness thats flaring up and you are in agony and your disease is messing with you). I met some lovely people and as a result am part of a newish (developed at start of pandemic)recovery group that meets online and absolutely love this group!! So helpful.

### 5/5 — Best recovery app

*2021-10-05, version 5.0.1*

I love this app, because it has a counter that I can pull quickly, the posts are always positive. There are very friendly people that you can relate with who are also in recovery and you can share with them, also there are daily check ins, and milestones. Also recovery coach information is shared and through sober grid you can have your own recovery coach! I have four yrs clean and part of that is because when I could not reach someone to speak with I got on sober grid and scrolled through some positive posts from people going through the same thing I was going through!

### 5/5 — Great add to your sober arsenal!

*2021-05-29, version 5.0.0*

I have tried out most of sober social apps out there, for me Sober Grid is by far the best! Sure there are a few hiccups, but well on its way! No in-purchases,(except links to external counseling) has everything you need in one place, friendly supportive peeps, counter, daily inspirations, and the ability to “check in” as a journal, with or without posting to public! And by far the least amount of spam accounts. Thank you SG!

### 5/5 — We are not alone.

*2021-03-26, version 4.1.9*

If you feel that you’re out of place, a fool, a loser, or just not complete because you’re recovering from addiction you’re not. Not only are you not, you’re also not any of those things. None of us are. This is one of the chapters we had to go through in order to become who we are. This app reminds you of that by showing you other survivors progress, supporting and receiving support from other survivors, reflecting on their stories, and reflecting on your story. This app is an extremely accessible tool to help you to stay towards whatever your goal in recovery may be. One day at a time, friends.

### 5/5 — For us

*2021-03-06, version 4.1.9*

I was really skeptical at first about this app. But as time passes, I am getting more and more drawn to this it. Addiction is a very hard disease to fight, we need all the help we can get. This app will provide you with a wonderful group of individuals, who will not even think twice before putting their hand out to help. SG and the community here helped me understand that Im not alone in this fight and there were multiple occasions where my amazing friends here talked me out of using drugs again. Thanks SG.

### 5/5 — So helpful

*2021-03-04, version 4.1.9*

I love the app. This is my second time in recovery and I never thought in a million years I would relapse but here we are. So we grid helps you to write gratitude lists and remember the small things in life that we take for granted when we are using. I think this app helps people keep in touch with themselves and it’s super easy access. Instead of having to sit down and write a gratitude list it’s right here in front of you

### 5/5 — A Tool for Support

*2021-02-26, version 4.1.9*

I believe Sober Grid has greatly improved over the years and found its place, in the sobriety genre. Their willingness to improve their app is a great example, that we all can improve and progress.

If support is what you are seeking, support is what you can receive, both free and paid. Please understand that their will be people on any app, that can unintentionally trigger people, in early sobriety and the block button is a boundary button. I believe most people are genuine, kind and are really trying to help.

I would highly recommend Sober Grid as an extension to anyone’s already established support group.

### 5/5 — A Wonderful Sobriety Community

*2020-12-07, version 4.1.3*

This app and its sober community have been a cornerstone of my sobriety journey. I’ve met some of my best friends here and we all have the same goal in mind: sobriety. It welcomes people suffering and recovering from all forms of addiction and welcomes those who work recovery programs whether it be, AA, NA, Secular 12 step programs, Dharma Recovery, Refuge Recovery, SMART Recovery or even personalized approaches. They also host a wide variety of online meetings. I wouldn’t have made the progress I have without it. Check politics and back and forth banter at door. We’re all in this together and support one another.
