First, I understand that every developer needs to support themselves. Yes, i get it, you need your money! The problem is that these developers decided to monetize their app *overnight*. They did it instantly, without notification. They just pushed an update to everybody one day which permanently locked features that everybody used to have access to. locked them behind an expensive paywall. The developers knew they messed up because they quickly went back and lowered the price of the annual subscription. But here's the thing: they NEVER told users in advance about their plan to monetize. they did not grandfather in any existing users, they did not offer existing users a discount, and they never once communicated to users what their plans were. They pushed all these changes on the user and basically told us to just deal with it. users had no warning of what was going on, and no communication from the developer. Furthermore, the developer reconfigured the app so that it literally refuses to launch unless you are connected to Internet. I assume they do this so the app can display ads. Look, each person can develop their app however they choose, but it's been a while since I have seen something so actively hostile. Forcing the user to be connected to the internet, and charging fifteen a month is a little disappointing. There should be tiers for the membership. And before you say developers deserve to be paid, I 100% agree! but this app had NO in app purchases until November 2025 so idk how they explain that. And why they would launch at such a high price instead of doing a one time fee or doing tiers. I would have paid a one time fee but not this insane subscription. You could have gotten revenue out of me for this if it were reasonable. No way to go back. The calendar is bugged right now. Dont get how an app that is essentially a calendar would have that issue but here we are. Daily motivational messages are good, but if you dont save them, there is not a database that u can look through to read some. Now it charges you to even add another one. So i deleted one of them so i could add another one and you want to charge me money? for tracking sobriety. i was already tracking two, deleted one to add a different substance and now you want to charge me? for something ive already used for half a year. you should be ashamed of yourself for trying to charge sober individuals money to track their progress. Clearly don’t care about helping anyone and jsut want money. what a joke. this app is trash now. and whoever made in app purchases is a horrible person. what a terrible thing to do. ### 1/5 — Blank screen *2025-10-27, version 10.32.0* This app was amazing until it stopped working. Whenever I login it's just a blank screen. I've deleted and downloaded many times. This happens on my iPhone 11 and now 16. Such a bummer. Otherwise, it's great. Really helped get me to 3 years of sobriety. ### 1/5 — Loved but now not *2025-01-30, version 10.14.0* I started using this app on Christmas Day and I thought it was the greatest thing but three times in just over 37 days I wake up in the morning in the app doesn’t load and I login with my email tells me there’s a problem. I meet smaller goals with no difficulty, but I need all the help I can get sticking to an auto immune diet when I’m emotionally depleted. I have just weathered a multi sided crisis that changed everything I had laid out. I need to reset my thinking in a positive way; not give in or give up. If I don’t control my sugar and fat intake, I’ll be tempted to drink to excess. Stress management is an important piece of this puzzle too. I’m facing bypass surgery and have to lose 30 pounds that won’t budge.
