## What is Soccer Fitness Tracker?

Train smarter for soccer—without spreadsheets.

Soccer Fitness Tracker turns your iPhone + Apple Watch into a match/training tracker built around how soccer is actually played: lots of stop–go running, sprints, and changing intensity.

WHAT YOU GET:

• One-tap session tracking
Record matches, training, and drills with live distance, time, pace/speed, heart rate, calories, and more.

• Import from Garmin & other devices
Import FIT, TCX, and GPX files from Garmin Connect, Strava, Polar, and more—with extended metrics like power, elevation, and training effect.

• Route maps + movement heatmaps (outdoor)
See your GPS route and movement patterns on the field. Replay your route animated on the map and save your home pitch for zone analysis.

• Soccer-focused intensity metrics
Track sprints, high-intensity running, speed zones, training load, and fatigue—all with soccer-specific context for your 90-minute game.

• Heart rate insights
View average/max HR, HR zones, TRIMP, recovery score, and VO2 max with context on how it impacts match endurance.

• Apple Watch companion
Start and control workouts from your wrist and see key stats during play.

• History + seasons
Review sessions, spot trends, compare performances side-by-side, and organize training blocks by season.

• Built-in help system
Tap the ? icon on any screen for guidance, browse the searchable Help Index, or check the Metrics Glossary for definitions.

• Share sessions with teammates
Export sessions to share with coaches or teammates, and import theirs to compare and analyze together.

PRIVACY FIRST:
No accounts. No ads. No tracking. Your data stays on your device and in Apple Health (if you choose to save workouts there).

## Version history (last 5 releases)

### 5.2.0 — 2026-07-16

What's New in 5.2.0

Running FIT File Imports
- A new opt-in setting lets you import Running activities from direct FIT files and folder imports while keeping soccer-only imports as the default.
- HealthKit imports remain restricted to soccer activities and workouts carrying an explicit soccer or football tag, so genuine runs stay out of your soccer history.

Activity File Import
- Fixed the single-file FIT, TCX, and GPX picker so Import Activity File opens reliably alongside folder and shared-session import options.
- Folder imports now report imported and unsupported activities with clearer source-neutral status messages.

### 5.1.0 — 2026-06-03

What's New in 5.1.0

Multiple Workouts per Day
- Day editor now lets you attach any number of HealthKit workouts to a single date so a morning run plus an evening lift both surface under that day.
- Auto-detected workouts arrive pre-checked and are remembered the next time you open the editor.

Source-Agnostic Workout Linking
- The Workouts section no longer assumes Apple Watch; any HealthKit source like Garmin, Wahoo, or a third-party app shows up the same way.
- Each workout row keeps its real source name so you can tell at a glance where the data came from.

Strict Same-Day Scope
- Workouts only appear on the calendar day they were logged on, so yesterday's run no longer drifts into today's editor.
- The same HealthKit workout can no longer be attached to two different days in the same report.

Respect for Manual Edits
- Auto-sync no longer overwrites or removes workouts you picked manually; refreshes only update activity, time, and distance for workouts you already selected.
- Clearing all workouts from a day is now persisted and they will not quietly come back on the next HealthKit sync.

Day Editor Cleanup
- Removed the empty Linked session picker that always showed No nearby logged sessions on most days.
- Renamed the Apple Watch workouts header to Workouts with a neutral icon to match the broader source support.

### 5.0.0 — 2026-05-27

What's New in 5.0.0

AI Insights, Reimagined
- Brand new home screen with Today, Last Game, Next Match, and a tap-to-expand week strip.
- Today card shows your recovery score, scheduled work, and the highest-priority insight in a single view.
- Last Game compares your most recent match against the previous match and your last 7-match average so changes have real context.
- Tap any week-strip day to see the prescription, log how it went, and re-pull HealthKit on demand.
- Recurring match scheduler so you can set a weekly fixture instead of adding matches one at a time.
- Schedule auto-embeds with new reports so home and the full report always agree.
- Insight cards collapse to the DO action and expand on tap.

Generation Flow, Rebuilt
- Generate Insights opens a single focused builder with prompt, scope, and provider in one place, replacing the Workshop and New Analysis entry points.
- A schedule planning wizard pops between the insights pass and the full report so the LLM-written schedule reflects what you asked for.
- Loading takeover shows Step 1 of 3 / Step 3 of 3 labels so the waits no longer feel like a black box.
- Wizard text fields gained a keyboard Done button and pull-to-dismiss.

Reimagined Full Report
- Performance Analysis hub redesign brings the most-asked numbers to the top with cleaner visual hierarchy.
- VO2 Max gets its own dedicated section with refreshed visuals and clearer pill counts.
- HR Zones switched to HRR/Karvonen so bands match what Apple Watch shows, and zones are recomputed when the report opens.
- Reports now include radar profiles, heatmaps, milestone timelines, distribution histograms, and correlation matrices when the data fits.
- Bookmarks replaced with a pinned Overview block at the top of every report.

Smarter, More Personal Recommendations
- AI prompts now use your real weight, height, resting heart rate, and observed max heart rate from HealthKit.
- Max HR derives from your highest observed reading when present, falling back to the Tanaka formula.
- Dropped lower-signal inputs like preferred foot and manual goals.

Cost and Model Transparency
- Every report ends with a Generated with AI footer listing the model used, number of LLM calls, total tokens, and total cost in USD.
- AI Settings has a new Usage History section that logs every LLM request with provider, model, tokens, cost, duration, and outcome.
- Cost figures travel with the saved report and survive global log eviction.

HealthKit Sync, Smarter
- Cold launches skip the full re-pull when your library is already populated, freeing the first frame from multi-second background work.
- Sessions sync-preload on cold launch so home never flashes an empty state.
- New workouts that land while the app is open are absorbed silently via HealthKit's observer API.
- The app stays interactive during full imports, with progress and backup health surfaced in Settings.
- Pull-to-refresh and Manage Data import still run the full fetch on demand.

Reliable IMU Motion Data
- Acceleration and deceleration counts from the Watch survive app deletion, reinstall, and HealthKit re-imports.
- New Verify HK Attachments diagnostic in AI Settings shows exactly which sessions have IMU data attached.

Reliability
- Schedule wizard no longer gets stuck after generation completes.
- Insights LLM failures fall back to on-device pattern detection without blocking the rest of the report.
- Raised LLM token limits so reasoning-token models like Gemini 3.x and GPT o-series no longer truncate the season narrative.
- Insights expand state and report-tile navigation no longer flicker on reopen.
- Legacy 4.1.0 schedules now surface on the home view instead of disappearing.

Polish
- Recovery ring redesigned as a self-contained badge with score and label inside the ring.
- Open Full Report lifted above From Your Data on the insights screen.
- Done button added to remaining text-input screens.
- Week strip exercise rows match the full report formatting.

### 4.1.0 — 2026-05-08

What's New in 4.1.0

Session Trim Controls
- Trim the start or end of a recorded session from the session detail menu.
- Route, heart-rate, motion, split, and summary stats update to match the trimmed window.
- Heart-rate recovery is cleared when the end of a session is trimmed because recovery samples after the original stop time no longer match the new workout end.
- HealthKit distance stays the source of truth for Apple-backed sessions, with GPS route data used to scale the trimmed window.
- Restore a trimmed session to its original time window, samples, and stats.

Session Ownership & Folders
- Choose Self or Player when importing sessions.
- Player imports are grouped into dedicated folders, and older owner-tagged shared sessions are organized automatically.
- Assign older imports to a player folder or move shared sessions back to Self.

Edit Session Type
- Update a session between Match and Training from the session detail flow.

Cloud Backup Sync
- Preferences, profile, seasons, and imported player folders can now sync through iCloud key-value storage.

### 2.0.0 — 2026-03-03

What’s New in 2.0.0

Major optimizations. You may not really care about it, but its like your mom feeding you vegetables, you may hate it but its necessary. lol

Estimated VO2 Max
• New soccer-specific VO2 Max estimation — works during matches and training, unlike Apple's which only measures during walks, runs, and hikes
• Heart rate lag compensation accounts for the delay between effort and cardiac response
• Separate tiles for Est. VO2 Max and Apple's VO2 Max so you can compare both side by side
• Confidence indicator reflects how much usable data backed the estimate

Metrics Accuracy
• Competition-level speed filtering — set your level (Recreational, Amateur, Semi-Pro, Professional) and GPS caps adjust accordingly
• Smarter GPS spike rejection with acceleration clamping and 3-second rolling peak speed windows
• Halftime-aware fatigue analysis — Speed Endurance Drop and HIR Density Drop now use your actual halftime marker
• Time-weighted metabolic power for more accurate energy output
• Removed unreliable kick detection

Field Marker & Zone Stats
• Drag crosshair lifts above your finger so you can see exactly where you're placing corners
• Per-match half directions (1H/2H) set in the analysis view — no stale defaults between games
• Zone stats (DEF/MID/ATT, Left/Right) flip correctly each half based on direction of play

Watch & Reliability
• Reduced sensor load during workouts — running-form metrics now fetched after the session instead of live
• All HealthKit queries have timeouts to prevent silent hangs
• Heart rate processing moved off the main thread
• Three-tier Watch connectivity for reliable large session transfers
• Workout crash recovery on Apple Watch
• Async session saves to avoid UI freezes

Activity File Import
• FIT files now validated for soccer sport type — non-soccer files are rejected
• Folder-based batch import with skip/fail reporting
• VO2 Max fetching works with imported activity files

Diagnostics & Developer
• GPS+IMU hybrid acceleration detection available in Speed Diagnostics for side-by-side comparison with GPS-only
• IMU motion samples now stored on sessions for post-hoc analysis
• Speed Diagnostics redesigned with old vs new pipeline comparison, spike timeline chart, and GPS spike table
• Structured os.Logger replaces debug prints across the app
• App version stamped on each session for troubleshooting

Other
• "Set Your Level" onboarding page explaining how competition level affects speed filtering
• Updated Metrics Glossary with Max Speed and Sprint definitions
• Unit-aware speed formatting (metric/imperial) across all Home views
• Fixed fatigue warning thresholds that compared decimals against percentages
