I do have fast internet. That is the only page on the app going that. ### 2/5 — Needs improvement *2025-09-14, version 9.3.1* This app is about ten years behind standards. The slow loading is the worst. It takes far too long to get into the app. I can’t use it. It’s too slow and it’s not the internet speeds. Spinning circles, constant crashes… years go by and nothing improves. ### 2/5 — Awesome idea - execution of the app is horrible *2025-06-15, version 9.3.1* SocialFlight is a fantastic concept and I’m really pulling for long-term success as it will be a great asset to all aviators. The app is painful though. “Please wait” takes a long time. After that clears, there is an ad for an airplane that can’t be closed (with the ‘x’). Re-open the app…gets to the end of “Please wait”…crashes. ### 2/5 — Great concept - poor performance *2025-06-06, version 9.3.1* I want to LOVE this app. The problem is that, for me, the “please wait” issue is the same for me as it is countless others. WHEN I can actually download the advertised events, I LOVE it. But that rarely happens. Yesterday, the “please wait” was going on for nearly 30 minutes before I force-closed the app. I’ve tried to use the app on multiple devices: same result. If they don’t fix this, I’ll be deleting it because I can’t use it. The only reason for the 2-star rating is that I really WANT to love this…otherwise, I would’ve just given the 1-star. ### 2/5 — Good Idea, Horrible Implementation *2025-06-03, version 9.3.1* This app makes me long for the sweet release of death. I deleted it hoping the website version might work better, but the app is the only option. The problem? It’s the “please wait” spinning circle. It happens every time you try to do anything. What is this app doing all the time that requires being froze up with that spinning circle? I’m on a fast modern iPad, and have an iPhone 16. Then it crashes. Going to delete it. ### 2/5 — Doesn’t live up to its potential *2025-02-21* I’ve had the app for years. Biggest issue is it’s ALWAYS been slow to open or change pages. The “please wait” window is all I see sometimes and then the app crashes. When it works it’s helpful and you can filter the events you are interested in. ### 1/5 — Horrible *2025-02-04, version 9.3* I tried to use this app to take IAA refresher courses unfortunately it’s virtually worthless for that. If you touch your phone at all, it starts over at the beginning. There’s no way to skip forward and you could invest 59 minutes into an hour course just to have to start over. Whoever developed this app should be ashamed of himself. This is the most unprofessional waste of time you couldn’t pay me $100 to use. Fix your stupid app. ### 1/5 — Expect interminable “Please wait” msg. *2025-01-22* Takes forever for app to boot up. I like the services SF provides, the events, interviews, and I use the email notifications every time. The app however is annoying taking forever to boot up, and just now on my ipad it crashed. I so badly want this app to work, it’s exactly what GA needs. ### 3/5 — Slow “please wait” *2024-11-24, version 9.2* This app introduces a way to be involved or know about what aviation related events are happening near you. The WINGS credit corses is another way for pilots to complete some of their continual learning and be involved with the FAA WINGS program. I like these aspects of the app. The app is very slow to get to start page when opened. The app is slow to load any of the other category pages within the app. Being hit with a “please wait” window when trying to navigate the app is a little frustrating reduces my involvement with the app. Some review responses indicate SocialFlight has had some server problems. If they can get that ironed out and get the response time within the app down and continue with the app development to keep users involved and keep the ads down I think it will be a viable option to keep people involved with the aviation community. ### 3/5 — Unusable *2024-04-05, version 9.0* This app is aggravating buggy, and unusable. When going to/from full screen the video rewinds and you lose progress. Reinstalling might allow it to run for a minute. However, forcing Safari to use desktop mode in settings will allow you to use the web page, which still works. This used to be a popular favorite for finding fly-ins. Not sure how much longer people will continue posting here with the unusable App implementation getting in the way. I love the idea and would love to use it but you’re always waiting for things to load. It’s painfully slow. What’s worse? Love the map to see airport info and any active events at airports I may be flying too. The Social Flight Live shows are great. I don’t always get to see them live and I really appreciate being able to get to the archive of previous recorded shows. I have learned a lot from the various guest and topics. I’m a big fan of Treat Williams the actor and really enjoyed his stories and down to earth great sense of humor.
