The marketplace only option on Facebook, then no spotlight on Snapchat.. I even paid for a month of premium to try it out. But here I am three days later, canceling my subscription because though the idea is amazing.. The app is garbage. It’s glitchy and barely functions. Most YouTube videos will say unavailable or get stuck in a loading screen.. Snapchat is hard to use with tiny buttons, Reddit barely works at all, and on Facebook marketplace only half the photos load. This is invasive, time consuming and unnecessary, so ditched it after a few minutes of answering. Apparently developers do this so that you feel ‘invested’ and so are more likely to keep the app, but the questions should be optional with the possibility of answering later. Shame really, probably a good app. ### 3/5 — Does most things well *2026-09-03, version 3.1.0* I got it in order to rid myself of YouTube shorts, which it did perfectly, but the quality of the core YouTube videos that I wanted to keep was ruined. Poor resolution, strange sound bugs, inconsistent settings, and a less convenient video player/interface. Works as intended but with some minor drawbacks. Totally support the premise, hate the subscription model. Love the Fundamental idea tho *2026-09-03, version 3.1.0* I signed into my insta, had to “reset my password” and it logged me into someone else’s, I had access to their account. I deleted the app immediately but if I was that person who I was signed into I would not be happy whatsoever. The overall idea for the app is great tho. Keep it up. ### 1/5 — Locked me out of everything *2026-09-02, version 3.1.0* The app is just a mess, and it doesn't work. Upon first install it will lock all of your apps, after which it'll ask you to make an account and log into all of your apps. This is the step where it all breaks, as it will just not let you do so since it just restricted them, and it will leave you no way to even get into youtube on a basic level. Horrible experience, don't even bother with what is just a paywalled overlay for the browser version of an app you might actually want to use instead. ### 1/5 — Very Poor UI *2026-09-01, version 3.1.0* I use the app for Instagram and YouTube, and they both run so poorly. YouTube will soft lock by not being able to click on any videos, being unable to full screen, open comment sections. You can’t scroll back to the main menu without it reloading everytime and taking a significantly longer time to load than using the original app. The play while minimized feature will auto play and paused video when minimizing the app making you have to either close the app entirely or turn your phone back on to pause the video a second time. There are many more small problems with the app that make it feel so awful to switch to this just to get rid of reels. Instagram has many similar issues with bad load times, looking at reels that have been sent to you and it going back to the bottom of the messages every time you go back from a post. I would recommend any other app to remove reels or just go on a web browser and do it that way. ### 1/5 — hacked account *2026-09-01, version 3.1.0* not even 24 hours after downloading i had multiple “suspicious login attempts” on my account. luckily i had 2fa set up. ### 1/5 — Unreliable and buggy *2026-08-30, version 3.1.0* I’ve been using this app for over 3 weeks now. The concept is good but it is way too buggy. Initially it seemed fine - made Facebook a little less smooth and a little more clunky - just efficient enough that I tolerated it but annoying enough that I got bored, which I guess is the whole idea. But then it would go through whole days where it wouldn’t activate at all. That is happening more and more. And you also cannot message anyone to purchase something on Marketplace - you have to pause the block in order to do that which is a huge pain. Because it’s not actually blocking my usage anymore and doesn’t allow me to use marketplace, I’m deleting it. ### 1/5 — Great app, but Facebook needs stronger blocking *2026-08-29, version 3.1.0* I really love this app. It works very well for Instagram and TikTok. The Facebook feature is also a great idea, but there are some easy bypasses. You can open a Reel in Facebook and continue scrolling, and adult-content protection can also be bypassed too easily. Please add a stronger “No Bypass” mode that blocks adult content and prevents endless Reels scrolling, while still allowing a Reel that a friend sends through Messenger. If you fix this, this app will be amazing! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ ## Most praised reviews (10 highest-rated) ### 5/5 — A Fantastic Work In progress *2026-09-08, version 3.1.0* Sociallite is exactly what I wanted for instagram , just my friends posts and stories with no time hole of reels or suggested posts. While it’s perfect for that the smoothness is lost and it is a bit janky, which is a plus for instagram as it causes friction which is a good thing. However with YouTube it just makes regular videos frustrating to use. Looking forward to the team ironing out the kinks as time goes on. What I love about it is you can still use the app, it just blocks reels and search discovery so you dont get distracted.
