The idea of this app is fantastic, and the possibility to mix more than 4 tracks at the same time is unique for a DJ software. Still a lot of bugs and crash to be use in a professional environment bug but there is hope that one day it become more serious and stable. Also Christian, if you read me, I’m waiting for multi-output (not just for audiobus, but for a multi-out soundcard) to be implemented ;-)

Great to mix with but the app recently started to cut off recordings when you are recording a mix.  Fix this and it is better than any other DJ app in the App Store.

Pros: One off payment no subscribe (major plus), versatile, able to edit a setup you feel comfortable with unlike most other DJ app, pretty tight syncing, midi mapping easy, Audiobus compatible (but only Audiobus 2, freezes in AB3). 

Cons: Uses an excessive about of battery power (major negative) to the point you can feel your iPad heating up, not the most user friendly UI (but you can edit that), no genre selection in in library, time stretched tracks can sound a bit weird.

Conclusion: It's a good app with a lot of potential if they could do major update. Could be up there with djay, DJ Player Pro, better than Traktor app.

I would love and use this app if I could get iaa to work in AUM or similar...  it would trounce Traktor iOS if so.  Maybe fix?

I bought Soda because it has MIDI mapping included -- most iOS mixing software (all else?) don't have this feature.  The problem is, while it can learn what CC is with what control, editing the control properties ... leads the application to very reliably crash.

EG:  I created a 4-Deck view.  I then turned on MIDI map... and then selected a fader in the UI, and a fader on the controller.  Association?  Yup.  Behaviour?  Wrong; broken!   Instead of fading, the slider would just jump between 0 and 100 -- only.

I went through the range and other options, until I reached the "Control Type" (which defaults to continuous) -- selecting that is faster than the home button, to go back to the home screen.  

That's incredibly disappointing.  I bought this so I could have MIDI mapping, and this does not have working MIDI mapping.  I should've not bought this app, and instead put that money towards a Traktor Kontrol Z2, which works perfectly fine with Traktor on my iPad.

It crashes often. There's no way to rearrange song order in playlists. There's no way to manually set the correct key tag for songs. Timestretch quality is not very good. My playlists disappear randomly. There needs to be a way to preview songs directly from a playlist with one touch (seek bar). There needs to be a way to individually name and color hotcues. There needs to be a container window to contain playlists. There needs to be a temporary playlist area for set preparation. Would like to have smart playlist. Would like to make knobs and faders macro controls that control other knobs and faders.

Finde ich super - das Konzept sich sein Deck selber zusammenzubauen! Davon habe ich bei anderen apps schon geträumt. Was mir leider elementar fehlt, sind itunes playlisten und artists in der Auswahl. Verbesserungsfähig ist auch der tracksync. Man kann leider optisch nicht direkt erkennen ob die tracks im sync sind, die sync buttons sind einfach immer an. Midi Unterstützung ist gut, hab jedoch nicht geschafft die turntables von meinem iDJpro so einzustellen dass man auch scratchen kann. Ansonsten noch ein paar Fehler wie z.B. Problem mit dem Cue Ausgang bei Hardware Audio. Bin sehr gespannt auf die nächste Version! Könnte sehr cool werden!

It’s pretty difficult to navigate. Then it’s impossible to learn how to fix the beat grid if it’s off - how do you rename tracks - set to scratch and back spin (I know it’s stupid and pointless to scratch, but back spinning out of a track has its moments). Setting up more channels is like rocket science to me. But worst of all, there is a huge bug when I play this on my iPad Pro; the volume level keeps jumping up and down for no apparent reason. I have been a DJ since 2001. I love the idea of carrying nothing but head phones and an iPad. However, I can’t even seem to figure out how to delete cue points or set the master levels on isolated tracks. Updates sound GREAT! Thanks.

Settings don’t seem to save, playlists always hidden despite showing playlists enabled.... lots of crashes constantly making it unusable for performances. Sometimes need to analyze tracks twice. 

I like the interface and it’s designed really well but there’s some back end issues that need to be fixed. I would love to revisit this app in the future because it’s really cool despite the flaws.

L’appli a fonctionné deux minutes, puis impossible de lancer une lecture. Pas de solution dans le forum dédié, et pas de réponse des développeurs, malgré que je ne sois pas un cas isolé. Quelle honte de vendre une appli sans assurer le suivi. D’autant plus rageant que l’app en elle même est très prometteuse.

The app in its current state does not even open if you have larger amount of music and playlists on your device, it just stays on the loading screen permanently (iOS 14.1 - both on iPhone 11 Pro Max and 2020 iPad Pro).

When it does VERY occasionally open the screen is not optimised correctly and part of it gets obstructed by camera bezel on iPhone and has black borders on iPad. 

Please make it work on new devices as it seems like a good piece of software, would be a shame if it became abandoned.

Ständige Abstürze, beispielsweise wiederholbar beim öffnen und expandieren des Browsers mit Midi-Controller. Scratchfunktion habe ich nicht konfiguriert gekriegt... liegt aber vielleicht auch an den Einstellungen. Ich hatte dann recht schnell keine Lust mehr mich mit diesem Hobbyprojekt herum zu ärgern.

Die Idee ist leider das beste am ganzen Projekt.

The idea is good but still lots of bugs to fix and crashes to avoid :
- Audio connection from Akai Amx to iphone 6s does not work immediately, need to start a song then plug the device...
- Midi mapping, changing parameter control type crashes the app
- No prelisten of songs in browser
- Random crashes

Christian Blomert scheint mit Produktpflege nicht viel am Hut zu haben - Schade. So wie MODSTEP und die andere DJ-App wird wohl auch SODA auf‘s Abstellgleis geparkt worden sein?! 
SODA läuft auch nicht stabil. Schade ums Geld. 
 
Bei ner nächsten App von hier bin ich vorsichtiger - versprochen ;)

I’ve tried with several of my tracks to use this app but it always crashes. Big culprits seem to be playing with the library while a track is playing. I’ll hit “Key” to organize them by key while a track is loaded in the first deck and the app just closes. Please fix, this app looks like it has so much potential!

### 1/5 — Idee zwar gut, aber mit erheblichen Mängeln

Negativ: 
- starke Lautstärkeschwankungen während des Abspielens (ganz schlimmer Fehler, wie ich finde. Geht gar nicht!) An den Songs selbst kann es nicht liegen, in anderen Apps werden sie normal abgespielt.
- Track-Editor völlig nutzlos ohne Metronom. Man kann auch keine Gridmarker setzen. Zudem wird im Track-Editor kein Ton zum Track abgespielt. Wie soll man einen Titel bearbeiten und Cue-Punkte setzen, wenn man den Titel nicht hört?
- Man kann leider kein Deck als Master fürs Tempo bestimmen. Es gibt lediglich eine Master-Clock, zu der man die Decks synchronisieren kann. Es gibt keine Funktion, mit der die Master-Clock einfach das Tempo des laufenden Tracks übernehmen könnte.
- Pitchfader zeigt nichts an, wenn durch Sync das Tempo verändert wurde. 
- Beim Kopieren in ein anderes Deck fehlt die Wellenformdarstellung. Und teilweise auch der Ton.
- Die Loops haben hörbare Fade-Ins am Anfang. Klingt einfach nicht gut. Loops lassen sich nicht verschieben und rasten immer auf der Taktlinie ein.
- die App beherrscht keine Umlaute. In Deutschland geschrieben, kann sie unsere Umlaute nicht darstellen. Fehlen natürlich auch in der Tastatur, wenn man einen Titel suchen möchte. 
- es gibt nirgendwo ein Manual, eine Einführung, eine Dokumentation oder sonstwas. 

Mit all diesen Fehlern ist diese App schlicht und einfach nicht zu gebrauchen.

Wenn die Fehler beseitigt sind, dann wird es bestimmt spannend, denn positiv ist:
- frei für individuelle Gestaltung
- beherrscht als einzige iOS-App Beatjump per Knopfdruck.
- Sync funktioniert. Auch mit Beatjumps und Hot-Cues.

Update 7/26/21:
The App Developer contacted me to help fix the issues that I was having. It took just under two months to get this app working on my iPhone 7 plus. This is a great app for DJ's. What truly stand out is that you can create your own DJ LAYOUTS. I've spent many hours creating my own U.I. Layouts. There's nothing else out there like it. There is a learning curve at first but luckily they have a YouTube tutorial. So don't rush it just watch the video, it helps a lot.  If you're searching for a good DJ APP, give this a try.

Still crashing every 20sec, unusable.

Update 2/9/21:
The app crashes every 20sec. I'm thinking it might have to do something with the music folder scanning the songs.  I'm using an IPhone 7plus iOS 10.3.1

This is a great Dj app! A few minor updates and it's back in business! You make some of the most innovative apps in ios music to date.

Only been messing around for a few days - but pretty blown away so far. I guess the real test will be the on-the-road tour test coming up this month. Question to the developer - Any chance for adding more than 16 cue points I wonder?

### 5/5 — Great Idea that Struggles with Execution

Started using it and seemed really intuitive and powerful, but there were a couple bugs that need to be ironed out. 

I really love how many tracks you can have going as well as the IAA/AUV3 integration! Building your own interfaces is remarkably user-friendly. But then I tried opening the presets and it shut down. I then tried to change the effects layout and the app shut down. I tried this several times, even closing all of my apps and still had this problem.  It would also be great to be able to edit track information from the load page, but it seemed like you had really in-depth track details that you could change, like bpm and start/cue points.

Love the video tutorials, keep it up!

Soda is easily the most flexible iOS DJ app. What it does well:
  * Cue, jump, loop, and auto loop points
  * Ableton link, Audiobus, IAA, and AU support
  * Customizable UI (stacked waveforms, multitrack layout)
  * Easy MIDI Learn for controllers

However it still needs polish:
  * Turntable MIDI mapping is broken w/ reloop beatpad 2 and mixon 4 — can’t scratch!
  * Mic feedback loop with external speakers (IAA bug?)
  * FX support is buggy (audio often dropped or misrouted, esp with AU plugins)
  * FX UI is clunky — can’t switch between >2 effects/AUs?
  * Multiple FX on/off and dry/wet controls that don’t agree?
  * Global BPM should sync to most recent synced track BPM, or have a sync-to-track control. (Like Ableton Link, most recent BPM sync should take over.)
  * Waveform zoom doesn’t sync to global bpm — can’t eye match multiple tracks
  * Pitch bend changes bpm/playback speed — it shouldn’t 

If these issues are fixed, we finally will have something that can beat djay pro! Multi app integration is key!

Eagerly awaiting more updates! Will update this review!

Support on the developer website is lacking and fixing bugs, does that still happen?  

The app does not play tracks in OS 16, so will this be fixed? Who knows. 

I sure hope the developers get back into this app because when it works it is the best DJ app out there.

I kinda downloaded this because I thought it was 

an auv3 plugin but it support auv3 plugin effects 

there’s no auv3 plugin effect that has dj interface 

soda dj would be a great candidate for an app like
