I just wish the developer would update it more often. It’s been more than two years since the last update. I wish we could at least get an update to incorporate the new iPhone Dynamic Island properly. The UI currently does not. I don’t want to switch podcasts because of this. :( Update (11/2024): I love this app so much. I would love to see this app get the love it deserves. The app just needs a bit fleshing out as it feels very bare bones. I get the app is supposed to be simple which is a good thing but a few more features would be nice to see. Also just a personal preference I would like to see the App logo change to something cleaner rather than the bright and colorful purple/pink one. Changeable app icons would be a nice touch. Otherwise if you want a simple, clutter free podcast app that is well designed, this is for you. And to the developers: Please don’t give up on the app and keep updating it. There’s lots of potential here and it would be a shame to let it go to waste. But unlike them 'Sodes provides essential elements of a decent podcast app. The only feature I wish to see in future updates is to see other related podcast stations to my library. But i can’t sync my podcasts across devices or even if I accidentally delete the app (it happens!). It’s the best looking one I’ve ever encounter and I truly appreciate the simplicity. However this app refuses to work whenever I’m on WiFi. However, now it gets 1 star unusable due to crashing when trying to stream The Economist Please fix these show stopping issues so I can give 5 stars again ### 1/5 — Was working great, now shuts off every minute or so *2019-06-03, version 1.2.1* This is my go-to podcast player. Now with the latest iOS version the player shuts off constantly while listening during my commute and it's never done that before. I have given up on using it; it repeatedly crashes after about playing 30 seconds of audio and/or takes at least 5 minutes to load and begin playing audio. This app is not worth the money. Despite its promising appearance, it functions poorly and listeners are much better off using just about any other platform. ### 1/5 — Great App, but major bugs *2018-05-09* There’s a bug, when you’ve been listening in the background and lost internet connection at any point. It first will proceed to play what has been downloaded already (as expected). The next time you open the app the episode will just keep buffering indefinitely. Tapping it again in the feed will start it immediately. The data was there the whole time. But it will start from the beginning and forget your progress. Insanely annoying. Edit: has now stopped working completely. Switch back to apples Podcast app ### 1/5 — Doesn’t work *2018-02-25* App looks nice but doesn’t play a lot of my podcasts. I get a nonsensical error. When I contacted the developer to get help he just replied ‘an error occurred’. I reinstalled the app, and it keeps nothing. No progress, no favourites. It’s so nice to just… Play a podcast. (I do miss sleep timers a bit though). I feel like it is one of those good iOS apps from the old days before the App Store got filled with the yearly subscription junk. Before even the in app purchase years.
