## What is Sodium Counter and Tracker?

Restricting sodium and salt intake lowers blood pressure and risk of osteoporosis and stomach cancer.
Set your target maximum daily sodium intake based on guidance provided in the app (or as advised by your healthcare provider) and your preferences for weights of food (g or oz).
Record food and beverage consumption using the barcode scanner, dictation or search, or by favoriting foods and using the serving sizes provided (which can be changed at any time). Tap the notepad to add notes. Compare the sodium content of diffferent foods by tapping the Compare button on the "Foods" screen.
Monitor daily and long-term progress, export data to share with healthcare providers, synchronize data with other First Line Medical Communications Ltd nutrient counter apps, and share data with Apple's HealthKit.
Add your own foods (a sodium/salt conversion tool is provided), recipes and meals, and change serving sizes to personalize the app's 400-item database for you.
All food and beverage popups indicate whether the item is a plant, good prebiotic, probiotic or ultra-processed food (UPF) to inform a healthy diet and whether they are high or low FODMAP per serving where data are available to support people with irritable bowel syndrome (IBS).
Useful lists showing sodium content of foods per 1oz or 100g and serving can be toggled from high to low & low to high. Also useful UPF, unprocessed plant, prebiotic, probiotic, high & low FODMAP food lists.

### 1/5 — Mg count way out of whack

*2026-07-21*

Mg counter is way out of of whack. I’m talking about thousands of mgs. Where’s the help . There is no support here.

**Developer response:** There was a minor bug in the upgrade that affected the sodium values of foods added to the app by users of previous versions of the app. We identified it and fixed it immediately and the app now works perfectly but you need the update available on the App Store version 3.0.3, which you seem to have. So please check that it is now working.
If you're still having issues please contact us on "Email FLMC Support" on the "Settings" screen and toggle the "Add debug data" button to green.
Help files are available throughout the app — see top left-hand corner of each screen.

### 1/5 — Have to calculate to enter new foods

*2024-04-25*

Why can’t I enter nutritional info with serving size and sodium per serving. Seems as though I have to convert to mg/100g even when I thought I was selecting to view per serving. Slows down entering new foods and I switched to another app because the best tracking is the tracking I’ll actually do. I’ll give it another try if I have time this weekend, but most likely will be requesting a refund from Apple on this one.

**Developer response:** The app must know how much your different servings of food (eg slice, cup, portion) weigh to calculate your daily sodium intake in mg. So you need to provide the app with that information when requested. You will then be able to add and then see sodium content per serving (eg slice, cup, portion) rather than per ounce or 100g of your food. The app is consistent and the same process will apply to all foods the first time you add them to the app. Alternatively you can use the app's 400-item database and serving sizes provided, which is very straightforward.

### 2/5 — Limited data base

*2022-05-08*

Very limited data base for foods

**Developer response:** The app now includes a barcode scanner. In addition, the app is curated and preloaded with 325+ common (mainly healthy and unprocessed) foods and drinks and the user can add their own branded and other foods and recipes at any time. This means the app does not require access to the Internet (except on first use of the barcode scanner for a food), does not collect any personal data, does not carry advertising, and does not require additional payments.

### 1/5 — I want my money back.

*2019-02-28*

Useless. Foods only evaluated on weight. How much does a tablespoon of mayonnaise weigh? Who knows. Who cares. Do not try. Do not buy.

**Developer response:** The app has been redesigned using new Apple technologies. The foods and amounts you eat can be recorded easily and quickly using the barcode scanner, speech recognition (touch the microphone icon), or by favoriting foods and using the serving sizes provided. The serving sizes are mainly those suggested by USDA Food Data Central, but can be changed at any time via the "Add food" tab to your choice of measurement eg g, oz, cups, pieces.

### 1/5 — Don’t Purchase - Worthless!

*2018-06-30*

I purchased the DASH Diet bundle a couple of days ago, and I deeply regret spending $7.99 for this. There are no portion sizes listed with the corresponding mg of sodium so that I can track my partner’s sodium intake each day (he was recently diagnosed with CHF, and it’s critical that he restrict his daily sodium intake). The apps are horrible and there is no ease of use. I would like my money refunded!!!

**Developer response:** The app has been redesigned using new Apple technologies. The foods and amounts you eat can be recorded easily and quickly using the barcode scanner, speech recognition (touch the microphone icon), or by favoriting foods and using the serving sizes provided. Your progress towards your target daily intake will be visible immediately in real-time. You can also view your progress over time on the Month view dashboard, and export food diaries and fiber intake into a spreadsheet for your own information or to share with healthcare providers. Apple's HealthKit functionality is integrated in the app's user interface so you can share data with Apple's Health app. You can also synchronize the app with all your Apple devices and First Line Medical Communications Ltd apps. The serving sizes are mainly those suggested by USDA Food Data Central, but can be changed at any time via the "Add food" tab to your choice of measurement eg g, oz, cups, pieces. The app is preloaded with 325+ common (mainly healthy) foods and drinks and you can add your own branded and other foods and recipes at any time. This means the app does not require access to the Internet (except on first use of the barcode scanner for a food) or registration, does not collect your data or require additional payments, and there is no advertising.
