### 4/5 — Does the trick!

*2017-09-08, version 1.2*

Allows me to read at night without disturbing anyone.

## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated)

### 1/5 — Wish I could get my $1 back - worthless!

*2022-06-14, version 1.2*

Can’t believe I was stupid to pay $1 for this app. I thought it would be worth it but it is not as advertised - especially a light the will not bother your bed-partner.

### 1/5 — Doesn’t work

*2019-11-17, version 1.2*

Must not be compatible with latest os. Tapping to turn it on just crashes the app. The only way to activate the light is to use the timer

### 1/5 — Waste of a dollar

*2019-10-24, version 1.2*

It pretty much does nothing, there is no button on the bottom left, good thing it was only .99.

### 1/5 — Awful

*2019-08-13, version 1.2*

Who wants to hold their phone while they read???? Terrible. And not at all bright enough. Not worth even a dollar. I want a refund.

### 1/5 — Less light than just using your screen

*2019-03-04, version 1.2*

I was hoping this app would work but it literally does nothing. You would have to hold your phone over every word in order to see. Less light than your screen. Waste of money.

### 1/5 — Not enough lite. Too simplistic.

*2018-06-18, version 1.2*

Does not provide enough light for reading. And there is No way to adjust the brightness. Directions say to adjust brightness in your phone settings. I could do that without this dumb app. Complete waste of money.

**Developer response:** Hi Sofia! There are 2 ways to adjust the brightness levels though: You can change the brightness in the settings of your iPhone. Also you can fully adjust the tone of the light within our app (which is not connected to the brightness levels within the iPhone settings). The combination of the brightness of the iPhone and the brightness level within our app should give the brightest level of light. Hope this helped you out. -EDB Group

### 1/5 — Absolute Trash

*2018-05-28, version 1.2*

This is a joke save your 99 cents

**Developer response:** Hi GreenGirl005. We're sorry the app does not meet your expectations. Can you provide any feedback? We'd love to hear so we can improve the app -EDB Group

### 1/5 — Not a book light

*2016-12-29, version 1.2*

Review said it worked for reading, doesn't. Waste of 99 cents.

**Developer response:** We don't like faulty apps either DKG. Could you check whether the brightness levels are adjusted for optimal use? You can change the brightness in the settings of your iPhone. Also, you can fully adjust the tone of the light within our app (which is not connected to the brightness levels within the iPhone settings). The combination of the brightness of the iPhone and the brightness level within our app should give more than enough light to easiliy use for reading.-Vella Games

### 1/5 — Evidently it was dark when I bought this stupid app

*2016-04-05, version 1.0*

I just spent possibly the worst .99 cents of my life on your soft light app of which on the app details you completely mislead this cheese ball app! You should pay ppl to download this lame app. I wish there were negative stars because I would for sure give you -5
Thx love you, miss you bye

### 3/5 — Just okay

*2018-05-21, version 1.2*

Would be nice if you could further adjust the brightness within the app to make it even dimmer beyond the iphone’s settings.

Also, would be nice to have a wider color spectrum. Red light is best for not disturbing sleep patterns- could you consider adding red, rather than just yellow/orange?

In general, disappointed I spent money on this. I assumed there would be a wider color spectrum; that wasn’t well explained.

**Developer response:** Hi Saramariemara. Thanks for using our app and for your feedback.
It possible to adjust the tone of the light within our app (which is not connected to the brightness levels within the iPhone settings), simply by using the dimmer (accesible via the icon in the low right corner). The combination of the brightness of the iPhone and the brightness level within our app should give a lot more flexibility in the brightness levels (not a wider color spectrum yet). We will consider adding more options in regards to the color spectrum in future updates.-EDB Group

### 5/5 — Perfect book light!!!

*2018-10-30, version 1.2*

I was on my way to purchase a book light but decided to see if there was an app and to my surprise there was one. I was skeptical at first because I didn’t want to hold my phone while reading but I decided to go for it and that was the best decision. I just lay my phone on my chest, problem solved. I’m glad I purchased!!!

### 5/5 — 👍🏼

*2018-05-26, version 1.2*

Great book light!

### 5/5 — Nice light.

*2018-04-04, version 1.2*

This light is better for reading than using the flashlight app or the regular iPhone screen lighting. Easier on the eyes.

### 5/5 — Perfect book light for nighttime reading!

*2017-12-20, version 1.2*

My husband goes to bed earlier than I do and I love to read before I go to sleep. I’ve been putting off buying a book light for a while and tonight, I suddenly had the idea to see if there might be a book light app in the App Store! I’m so glad I did because this app is perfect. The only thing I don’t like is having to hold my phone the entire time I’m reading (haven’t figured out how best to prop it yet) but the app itself is perfect. You can set the brightness and the color tone so the light is bright enough to read by without being intrusive to someone sleeping next to you. I’m very pleased; well worth the dollar! ;)

### 5/5 — Exactly what I was looking for

*2017-12-13, version 1.2*

This does exactly what it says it does, and it does it perfectly. It lets me read in bed without keeping my husband awake. It’s so much better than using the flashlight on my phone since it doesn’t light up the whole room. The soft yellow glow is also way more comfortable to read by compared with the harsh, narrow beam of the flashlight.

### 5/5 — Does the trick

*2017-11-15, version 1.2*

Simplest app ever but very useful when my wife wants me to shut off the lamp and I want to keep reading.

### 5/5 — Best night light app

*2017-10-24, version 1.2*

Simple and effective.

### 5/5 — Super

*2017-07-26, version 1.2*

Needed the right light for nightime reading and this works great! Very satisfied!

### 5/5 — Not too bright

*2017-05-29, version 1.2*

I like this app because it's bright enough to read by but not too bright. Doesn't light up the whole room.

**Developer response:** Thanks Youngrobinson! Glad to hear you like it -Vella Games

### 5/5 — Perfect soft light

*2016-08-23, version 1.2*

Ad free!!!! Just enough light to read a book at night and not wake the person next to you. I like that it's adjustable and that the on/off noise really sounds like a light switch.
