Soft Pastel Color Studio brings together the color ranges of 23 of the best-known soft pastel brands — 7,826 colors in all — and allows you to compare them with one another. Show the app a color, and it names the pastel sticks that come closest, each with its maker's own name and number. Not a shade on a screen: a stick you can find in your own box or buy. WHAT YOU CAN DO • Find which pastels match a color in a photograph or a painting • Choose a color on the wheel and see which brands make something like it • Find alternatives for a particular stick in other brands — when it has run out, or when the brand is hard to buy where you live • Build a palette for a whole image and see the picture redrawn in those sticks • Enter the pastels you own and work only with your own collection • Explore color harmonies built from real pastels THE TOOLS Image — choose a photograph, a painting or a drawing, crop it, and tap any part of it. The app reads a small patch of color rather than a single pixel, then names the closest sticks in the brands you select. Color — choose a color on the wheel and adjust its hue, saturation and value. The color travels with you between the tools. Alternative — choose a brand and one of its colors, then see what other brands offer in its place. Where a range holds nothing close enough, the app says so instead of offering a poor match. Harmony — choose a color and a scheme: complementary, split complementary, analogous, triad, tetrad or square. Every point of the scheme is matched to real sticks in the range you choose, or in your own collection. YOUR OWN PASTELS Enter the sticks you own, brand by brand, and the whole app uses them. Any result you already have is marked "In your box", so you can see at once what you need not buy. RESULTS YOU CAN KEEP Recent colors keep your last eight selections at hand. Results can be printed, saved as a PDF or shared — a clean page with every stick, its number and how close it is. Projects can be saved to the Library with your image, your color and the pastels the app found. HOW THE MATCHING WORKS Colors are compared using CIEDE2000, an international standard for measuring color difference as the eye judges it. Results are rated Almost Identical, Very Close or Close; anything further apart is not offered as a match at all. The color data is compiled from manufacturers' published charts and from Paul Centore's survey of artists' pastels, in which real sticks were measured with a spectrophotometer. No two brands make exactly the same complex color, so a close match is a close match, not an identical one — which is exactly why it is worth seeing how the ranges compare. BRANDS INCLUDED Art Spectrum, Blockx, Blue Earth, Conté à Paris, Daler-Rowney, Diane Townsend, Faber-Castell, Girault, Great American, Holbein, Jackson's, La Maison du Pastel, Mount Vision, Mungyo Gallery Extra Fine, Mungyo Gallery Hand Made, PanPastel, Prismacolor NuPastel, Rembrandt, Richeson, Schmincke, Sennelier, Terry Ludwig, Unison Colour. Only colors currently in production are included. FREE AND OFFLINE No subscription, no purchases, no advertising. No account and no sign-in. The whole catalogue is stored in the app, so it works in the studio, on a train or out painting. Your pictures stay on your device. Keep your library organized: sort saved projects by newest, oldest, or name. The app remembers your preferred order. Simplified navigation with a focus on Image, Color, Alternative, and Harmony, plus updated introduction and help. ### 1.0.1 — 2026-09-25 PRINT, SAVE AS PDF OR SHARE Wherever a tool shows a list of matching pastels, the printer button beside the library prints it, saves it as a PDF or shares it. The page carries the color you searched for, then one section per brand, closest first: each stick with its color sample, name, number and how close it is. Send it to yourself and the whole list is ready for the shop. RECENT COLORS The last eight colors you chose wait in a row above the tool, shared by Image, Color, Alternative and Harmony. Tap one to come back to it — and a color sampled from a picture returns to the very spot it came from. PICTURES Choosing a picture is now one tap: the system picker opens and the crop window follows. While you frame a picture, the rest of the app steps out of the way and the screen stays put. ALSO IN THIS VERSION - A step-by-step guide to every tool, with worked examples, at lenarivo.com/pastel-studio-tutorial — linked from Help. - Help, About and the introduction rewritten. - A new app icon. ### 1.0 — 2026-09-22 No release notes. ## Apps similar to Soft Pastel Color Studio | App | Rating | Price | Category | | --- | --- | --- | --- | | [Color Wheel](https://appshunter.io/ios/app/color-wheel/id1449736609) | 4.8 (1,043) | $3.99 | Graphics & Design | | [Video Stabilizer.](https://appshunter.io/ios/app/video-stabilizer/id6479000660) | 4.2 (120) | $4.99 | Graphics & Design | | [Blur Photo.](https://appshunter.io/ios/app/blur-photo/id1624436697) | 4.7 (379) | Free | Graphics & Design | | [Resize Photos·](https://appshunter.io/ios/app/resize-photos/id1610518849) | 4.8 (489) | Free | Graphics & Design | | [Sketch & Trace Drawing Tool](https://appshunter.io/ios/app/sketch-and-trace-drawing-tool/id6478841427) | 4.0 (29) | Free | Graphics & Design | | [Calca app](https://appshunter.io/ios/app/calca-app/id1567655347) | 4.0 (88) | Free | Graphics & Design | ## More apps by AROEIRA MB - [Sectora](https://appshunter.io/ios/app/sectora/id6740287651) All apps by AROEIRA MB: https://appshunter.io/developer/1789374254 --- *Data collected daily from the US App Store and indexed by [AppsHunter](https://appshunter.io/).
