I wish I had this app growing up. Radar guns were way too expensive and pitching coaches rarely encouraged "throwing hard" over "accuracy". Well, now we have iPhones and iPads capable of filming slo-mo, 240 FPS video... and we have them readily available at every game. 

I made this app to give every softball player and parent the opportunity to not only measure pitch speed, but also to analyze pitching mechanics with a very simple tool.

This app does NOT rely on your reflex time to calculate pitch speed, like many 'stop watch radar gun' apps. Instead, you will use the iPhone's powerful camera technology (preferably 240 FPS slo-mo video) to accurately capture the pitcher's release point and plate crossing, resulting in extremely repeatable pitch speed calculations.

Not worth the effort!  It isn’t very accurate.

**Developer response:** Hi Zipo, did you use slo-motion video? Slo mo video allows you to select the exact frame when the ball is released, and when it is caught because you have 240 frames per second to choose from. This makes it extremely accurate, even if you are a few frames off. The easiest way to select the right frames is to use the << and >> buttons. These allow you to step frame by frame through the video to ensure you get the best one. Hope this helps. Feel free to contact me via email if you have questions.

Prolly as accurate as you can get without a radar gun.  Just takes a while to pinpoint release and when ball crosses the plate plugged in to get a speed.
