Someone throws out a date, half the people can't do it, the thread dies, and you never actually hang out. This app helps with that because you can just see when everyone's free instead of doing the whole back and forth thing. But honestly the best part is you can put something on your calendar and basically just let friends know they're welcome to come; less of a formal invite, more of a "hey I'm doing this if you want to swing by" kind of thing. Way more low key than creating an event and blasting it to everyone. I tried the app and then it just wants so much information from you. Just let me scratch the counties I’ve been to without telling when I went and adding my contacts and calendar. ### 5/5 — Solves the “let’s connect next time I’m in town” problem *2026-08-06* Everyone says it. Almost nobody follows through - not out of flakiness but because it’s a lot of effort to track people down and find out if / when they are available. SoKal solves that by taking the work out of following friends and determining availability. Just set it up and get alerts when you and your friends are in the same place and both available. I’m taking a big trip in a few months, so I’m excited to use it to organize the whole thing without the usual chaos. One of my friends is even thinking about using it to help plan her wedding. My only wish right now? I’d love a way to upvote or downvote trips recommendations and ideas.
