This product does not include any chemical substances. The product repels animals and insects through use of physics principles. This product is equipped with infrared sensor, with wide extended detection range. When animals appear, high-tech circuits can produce preset sonic or ultrasonic to repel the identified target. When activated, the product, other than producing sounds, will also produce strong flashes to enhance the repelling effects. This product uses solar power so batteries are not required. The built-in charging battery can store can store energy for night usage. This product can also be connected to smart phones, allowing users to monitor the current status and modify the output or frequency of the product. I just spent $100 (on sale) on this solar animal repeller four months ago and still can’t get it to work. It gets plenty of sun and I’ve switched out the batteries and made sure they are properly oriented. It just won’t pair with this app. Despite reaching out to the company by phone and email several times over the last few months, I never heard back from anyone. There is no customer service - just a voice recording.
