### 3/5 — Last update

*2026-08-28, version 7.7.0*

I’ve been happy with the app for a few years but the latest update has messed up my figures, the following day from install it shows I’ve imported 8,000 kWh in a day and exported 4,600 kWh when I’ve generated around 15kwh. Something is clearly broken…..

### 3/5 — A bit difficult to use

*2026-07-06, version 7.5.2*

The charging/discharging settings are clumsy and could have a much easier interface.
Settings things like minimum SOC is not obvious so you really need to read the manual to adjust basic settings.
The battery’s SOC is displayed down to one decimal point eg 79.0%
However it never reports the tenths of a percent - always .0%. Every time I use this app on iPhone it asks me if I want to paste data from my MacBook, which is super annoying. No other app does that.

### 3/5 — Automation based on export amount trigger

*2026-06-25, version 7.5.1*

Missing the ability to trigger automation based on greater than or less than an export value

### 4/5 — HS51 + X3 Hybrid

*2026-05-22*

TOU working under Globird, but app could be more shiny.

### 3/5 — A bit difficult to use

*2026-05-22*

The charging/discharging settings are clumsy and could have a much easier interface.
Settings things like minimum SOC is ready only if you know how to do it.
The battery’s SOC is displayed down to one decimal point eg 79.0%
However it never reports the tenths of a percent - always .0% - so it is weird that the display bothers to accommodate it.

### 5/5 — Great product

*2026-04-17, version 7.2.0*

Just installed my SolaX system today and I’m really impressed so far—everything feels smooth and well put together.

Please keep up the great work and continue to speed up software updates. In today’s world, iteration speed really matters.

Can you support Sankey Diagram？

Thanks from Brisbane!

### 5/5 — Cutting Edge

*2026-04-16, version 7.2.0*

Great app with good updates. Octopus Agile customers get the bonus of Intelligent Agile price tracking to charge batteries or export.

### 5/5 — Excellent

*2026-04-13, version 7.2.0*

Great app lots of detail and easy to navigate

### 2/5 — TOU set up poor for daily use

*2026-03-04, version 7.0.1*

Please improve the user experience for setting up a TOU in the intelligence section. This should be redesigned for changing daily since the sun doesn’t always shine and the requirement to change the charge / discharge / self use status with ease.
When wanting to make adjustments to the TOU, the app resets to default settings for each time slot. Why can’t it be easy to edit the current set up?
The current setup is maybe fine for those who gets guaranteed solar each day but no use for other countries when cloud and rain is more common.
No cursor vertical line appears when selecting the battery charge in % and the Amps without hitting the area a number of times to allow you to edit the figures.

### 4/5 — Doesn’t work

*2026-02-07, version 7.0.1*

App will not let you create an account… rejects all passwords

## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated)

### 1/5 — Useless

*2026-08-23, version 7.6.1*

Keeps dropping and refusing to relink. App needs deleted and re installed several times to eventually work. Today it is just refusing to re link. Totally frustrating app that states your log in details are wrong even though they are your email you have had for decades🤬

### 1/5 — Solax AI features not available in Australia

*2026-08-02, version 7.6.0*

Even with new inverters, AI is disabled in Australia. We cant do storm watch, or have battery be used/auto charged based in forecasted usage or production - VERY disappointing.

### 1/5 — Bugs

*2026-07-15, version 7.5.2*

Please hire some good developer. This app sucks.

### 1/5 — Stopped working

*2026-07-14, version 7.5.2*

This App has stopped working.
I spent a while setting up TOU prices and times and now just says not supported ?
I can’t make any changes

Developers need to sort this issue ASAP

### 1/5 — Incorrect Consumption Calc

*2026-04-03, version 7.2.0*

The app wrongly calculates home energy consumption. The formula shall be consumption = Solar Generation + Grid Import - Grid Export. But SolaX team got it the wrong way around consumption = Solar Generation - Grid Import + Grid Export

### 1/5 — Very customer focus

*2026-03-29, version 7.2.0*

So this update removes and deletes all you TOUs other than the active one, this must have missed the patch notes. Removing really good functionality for those that use it without notice, justification or rationale even though it can bd clunky is bad this adds no value to its users and demonstrates a clear lack of understanding, I will no longer be recommending Solax.

### 1/5 — The app works well overall, but there are two usability issues that really need attention.

*2026-03-27, version 7.2.0*

First, the default home screen is dominated by a large 3D house graphic that takes up a significant amount of space while providing very little useful information. The more functional layout — showing solar, grid, home, and battery clearly — is already available by swiping, and is far more effective.

This makes the default screen feel overly decorative rather than practical, especially on iPad where screen space should be used efficiently. A simplified, data-focused layout (similar to the swipe view) would be a much better default.

Second, the graph colours are a real usability problem. The yellow and green used are too similar in tone and brightness. While some users can distinguish them, many people will struggle, especially at a glance or in different lighting conditions.

In some cases, the colour labelled as yellow appears visually indistinguishable from green, which undermines the reliability of the graph.

This isn’t just a preference issue — it affects accessibility and clarity. A graph should be instantly readable, but the current colour choice makes it harder than it needs to be.

Previous versions used a blue tone, which provided much clearer separation between data. The current colours are a step backwards.

A simple fix would be to increase contrast by using more distinct colour families (for example, green and blue or green and cyan), especially as blue tones are already used elsewhere in the app.

Please consider revising these areas — they would make a significant improvement to usability and consistency.

### 1/5 — New update 7.1 is a mess visually

*2026-03-10, version 7.1.0*

The latest update significantly reduces the clarity of the energy graphs. In previous versions the colour system was much easier to interpret because each data line had strong visual contrast and the baseline remained clearly anchored at zero. You could understand what the system was doing at a glance. The new design is uglier than a council car park.

The colour choices are a big part of the problem. Solar generation now appears in yellow while two very similar green tones are used for other lines on the graph. Those greens are far too close in tone to each other, which makes the chart harder to read quickly. On OLED screens on both iPhones and iPads in particular, yellow and green tones like this don’t separate visually very well, so the lines tend to blend together. The previous colour scheme was much clearer because each line was visually distinct.

Another confusing change is the way the chart scaling behaves. Yesterday the graph was showing negative values below the baseline for parts of the day, which didn’t make much sense. Now the chart appears to sit correctly at a zero baseline again. That shifting behaviour makes it feel like the graph is moving around underneath the data. It would help if the baseline remained consistently anchored at zero so users have a stable visual reference point.

Monitoring apps should prioritise clarity and accessibility over stylistic design. Stronger colour contrast, clearer baselines, and more distinct line differentiation would make the graphs far easier to interpret during everyday use.

Another usability issue is the large animated house graphic on the main screen. While it may look visually appealing, it occupies a significant amount of screen space without providing meaningful information. Most users monitoring their system would benefit far more from seeing the energy graph immediately when opening the app.

A better design would be to open the app directly to the energy graph, which provides the most useful information at a glance. The existing swipe view showing the energy flow between solar, grid, battery and home could still remain available for users who want that schematic.

Overall, the new design sacrifices usability for style. The previous version was clearer, easier to read, and worked better in practice. Please consider restoring the original graph layout and colour scheme.

### 1/5 — Now stopped working

*2026-02-27, version 7.0.1*

I don’t know whether this is a problem with the new version or iOS but I have now lost contact with the WiFi device and reconfiguration stalls at step 2. I see no data on my iPhone (running latestiOS).

### 1/5 — Unable to Connect

*2026-02-26, version 7.0.1*

Does not work for me as no longer connecting to wifi dongles

## Most praised reviews (10 highest-rated)

### 5/5 — Brilliant

*2026-06-27, version 7.5.1*

The app looks great with nice graphics showing electricity generation and use.
It is easy to navigate and set up the system.
I had issues that pointed to a need to update the firmware. It took a couple of days to get to the correct team, I’d recommend using the app to log any issues. The support team completed the firmware update remotely and their communication was very good.

### 5/5 — Good app, could be better

*2026-06-25, version 7.5.1*

希望能加两个功能，一个是黑暗模式能跟随，二是首页能显示电池目前的工作模式。

### 5/5 — Not bad but could be better

*2026-06-22*

I only use TOU function and it works. UI is a bit outdated. I don’t need too much info on the home tab, so better to be able to customise.

By the way, where’s Sanja energy flow that has been requested for long long long long long time ago….

### 5/5 — Not bad but could be better

*2026-06-02, version 7.4.0*

I only use TOU function and it works. UI is a bit outdated. I don’t need too much info on the home tab, so better to be able to customise.

### 5/5 — Acceptable, stable with polishing expected

*2026-05-06, version 7.3.0*

It is working as expected. However, can you make home page editable? Also can you add refresh timestamp

### 5/5 — The app is acceptable

*2026-05-02, version 7.3.0*

Solid hardware, good service, not bad app, but not a vivd app. For example, I expect battery SOC status circle colour could change based on percentage, a text to display the time of update….

### 5/5 — Stable but a bit friction

*2026-05-02, version 7.3.0*

Switched from Sungrow. Much much better. Live data is not enabled by default, I have to manually enable it. Working good with TOU but i have to ask my installer to do that since it’s a bit friction. Why no TOU config with drag and less keyboard input.

In short, good, stable but a bit friction to config.

Finally great aftermarket service. Heard it about 24*7. Great!

### 5/5 — My thoughts after using 3 years

*2026-04-28, version 7.3.0*

I must say that I am mostly happy with the app especially this year after 7.0. It is a bit annoying to see incorrect charging/discharging status. I guess it is because of AC coupling.

The big part of my expectation is to add more features while fixing existing issue. I wait for Sanjay energy flow chart, quick override control.

No perfect app but please keep updating, I am all in my energy investment on you and please don’t let your users down.

I am going to buy another new one this year

### 5/5 — Everything is working as expected

*2026-04-21, version 7.2.0*

Everything is working as expected. But could you speed up improvements? Every 3 week upgrade is not competitive compared with other battery providers. Thanks Jackie

### 5/5 — Good job but please speed up software iterations

*2026-04-18, version 7.2.0*

Great product overall — really appreciate the continuous improvements and the solid hardware-software integration.

Feature Requests & Improvements:

* Sankey-style energy flow visualization
A Sankey diagram for energy flow (solar → battery → grid → load) would be extremely intuitive and is becoming a standard in energy apps.
* Real-time data refresh rate improvement
The current refresh interval feels slightly delayed （10 seconds）. A faster or user-configurable refresh rate would improve monitoring experience.
* Battery health & degradation insights
Provide more transparency on battery health (SOH), cycle count, and estimated degradation over time.
* Self diagonise
As an end users but also a installer, Solax hardware diagnoise is still not powerful enough. Please improve it. It's good to reduce labor cost, especially in Australia market. Labor cost is very high.
* Firmware update transparency
Provide release notes and clearer explanation of what changes after DSP/firmware updates.
