It seems the motion detection worked at first then gradually didn’t work at all. The motion detection seems to be laggy or slow. By the time the camera picks up motion and stores it to the cloud, the event has already happened. What’s the point of having a camera to record evens when it doesn’t actually record until the event is over? This product needs a serious software upgrade. ### 2/5 — Hardware is Great, Software not so much *2020-04-03, version 1.1.23* The camera works great and the software works when you are looking live. But the software needs to provide a means to let you find specific events that the user has been notified of. I see the orange markers on the timeline that show where the incidents are - but when I try to view them I quickly have no idea where I am on the time line - but I certainly are not where I want to be. The software needs to give the user easy access to see what (if anything) has been saved to the SD card and the software needs to give the user some control over the alarm - a selection of the tone, when the user wants it active, how loud it should be. It certainly is a shame to see someone develop an excellent piece of hardware and totally fail to provide software of comparable quality. ### 2/5 — Soliom software *2020-02-02, version 1.1.19* The App worked fine for a while the started with the alarms you can’t turn off which prompted me to delete app. Reset camera etc etc. Same annoying issue w the alarm. Sending it back ### 1/5 — Useless Since the Update *2019-12-10, version 1.1.17* This app is useless since the update last month. It no longer sends me notifications, which is the whole point of having this. I’m going to buy a camera with an app that actually works, and throw this hunk of junk in the trash. Don’t waste your money! ### 1/5 — Needs an update *2019-12-04, version 1.1.17* The camera will not save videos to cloud. I believe there is a bug in the software causing a glitch to appear when entering into the settings the first time you open the app. Before going to my preset settings, the app buffers in the settings consisting of settings that say “Recording Mode: Disabled”. If the developers would add that selection to the settings page I can potentially fix my problem. ### 2/5 — Great Camera, but the app.... *2019-12-04, version 1.1.17* App is very buggy, and the fun ruins do not operate properly. This app needs a LOT of improvement. The bad thing is that if the app doesn’t function properly, then it kills the functionality of the camera. The price of the camera should be more than enough for you guys to fix the app! ### 1/5 — Doesn’t work *2019-12-04, version 1.1.17* Got the camera from Amazon. Try to pair this piece of thrash for over 30 minutes and can’t connect to wifi. ### 1/5 — Potential *2019-11-16, version 1.1.13* I can’t get the app to notify me no matter what I do. I even have the minion cams which is fantastic. This is getting more and more disappointing. No notifications!! How is that going to help if someone is getting into my home or taking my vehicles???? I don’t understand the multiple screens. The first screen is a frozen image from earlier. When I walk in view it is so slow and captures me well after I enter the visible area. This cam has great picture quality however the app need improvement. It’s surveillance for a reason.... my tend app for $27 cameras is fantastic but they are not for outdoor use. I have been using them outfits in teen weather and get notifications left and right. ### 2/5 — Good hardware...sad state of app *2019-10-30, version 1.1.12* This product can be great if the product team at Soliom would just push some useful app updates. Key areas for improvement - notifications need to be more mature. Setting a call-in doesn’t have to apply to every single PIR activity, but should be for doorbell category only - light sensitivity is too low and annoying - app performance is slow - no need for so many different screens. Very poor product ## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated) ### 1/5 — Notifications *2021-01-30, version 1.2.0* Stopped working as of iOS 14.2. The camera records but no notifications are sent. Tech support wanted access to my QR code which would give them access to my camera at any time. That’s a complete breach of privacy and unacceptable. We are now on ios 14.4 and it still doesn’t work. Without a fix, I say stay away from their products and apps. ### 1/5 — Good hardware, but horrible app *2020-09-27, version 1.2.0* I have used two of these cameras S60 for about 3 months now. The cameras are good with a nice solar panel for charging the internal battery. The picture quality is good. However, the App is not good and it virtually makes the camera only usable for live monitoring. It will record events, but trying to scroll to anevent and playing it back is nearly impossible. I have both cameras within 20 feet of my WiFi router and signal strengths are excellent. The problem is likely within the camera itself. I'm guessing that the microprocessor inside of it is very cheap and horribly slow at working over the WiFi interface. If you use the App to scroll back to an event that was triggered, you might as well cook dinner and then check to see if playback has started. Total and epic failure. I would know because I design circuit boards with microprocessors and I also write Apps. If they fixed these issues, the cameras would be a winner. If all you care about is live monitoring, they are ok. If you really want to use them as a security solution, buy something else. ### 1/5 — Useless app *2020-08-21, version 1.1.23* Not possible to rewind and watch the recording....only get some useless detection.... ### 1/5 — Annoying *2020-05-24, version 1.1.23* I like the app and having cameras I can check up on but I don’t appreciate the notification noise. No one needs NINE loud as hell ding dongs for a single notification. What’s worse is you can’t turn off the notifications. THEY DON’T STOP. EVER. I don’t know who said in these reviews “just turn it off” but that’s obviously someone who doesn’t actually have this app. What’s worse is I’m not the only one who has complained about the incessant ding dongs and nothing has been done about it?? When I first installed the app the notifications weren’t like this at all. ### 1/5 — Bad app and terrible customer service *2020-04-26, version 1.1.23* This app and the cameras never worked the way they should have. Initially I was getting notifications but delayed, which made me think maybe the issue was my WiFi. Now I’m not getting any notifications at all. The cameras only last a few weeks without direct sunlight and sometimes they have glitches and turn off on their own or do not detect motion even if I am in front of them. I contacted the customer care and they had me troubleshoot for over a month. I asked for a refund several times while being within the one-year warranty and when they finally agreed they were only willing to give me 70% of my money back and asked me to ship back the cameras and pay for the shipping myself. ### 1/5 — Difficult to install *2020-03-26, version 1.1.22* The app requires a we code sticker location on the device to complete the installation. There is no sticker and installation cannot complete. Moving around in the recorded timeline is wonky. Entire package is garbage, really. I am going to change to another security camera system. A hundred dallas thrown away. ### 1/5 — Camera is ok, App is TERRIBLE. *2020-02-16, version 1.1.19* You CANNOT turn off sound notifications! Even after I turn the sound toggle OFF in settings, I still get the sound notifications and what’s worse the door bell chime rings 3 times WITH NO WAY TO SILENCE IT, very annoying, Unless you choose not to receive notifications at all. I tried contacting the app developer but the link send you to a Chinese website, so no help at all. I hope the developers read this review, or if you speak Chinese PLEASE do us all a favor and send the developer a message I already contact apple support they weren’t any help at all, they just told me to check the settings and told me contact the app developer. ### 1/5 — I can’t change the WIFI!!! *2019-12-13, version 1.1.18* This Cam just became obsolete thanks because I can’t even get it connected. You pair the camera and the app lets you see through it and records when motion is detected. This is a great safety feature to know there are activities outside especially when you live on large property...please add feature back. In the device list tap the sprocket icon and change the push mode to something else. This is also shown in the user manual that nobody looked at. For our dad. Super results. He is 90 and lives over an hour away. Loved the camera. Bought one for our house. Connected great, but having issues connecting now. The live viewing is wonderful when it works but it’s clunky when it wants to work or not, and I have extremely fast internet. Overall as the first generation product it needs some tweaks but the future is looking bright for Soliom. ### 2/5 — Is this app out of business? *2022-05-29, version 1.2.0* I had the cameras for several years. One newer than other. I just got 2nd newer camera to work for live view after putting it off for over a year, and tried previously during covid days. I have other brand cameras. But I really wanted these to work. Playback slider never worked. Can’t view anything on sd cards from app. It’s just a live cam from my iPad. I have no way to check cards to see if any events are recorded.
