## What is Solis UV Timer?

Solis UV Timer is an informational sun-exposure timer for iPhone and iPad.

Use current UV, Apple WeatherKit forecasts, skin type, SPF, saved places, and session reminders to estimate sun exposure windows. Solis helps you see when UV data is available, plan sessions, track local session history, and get prompts during a session.

Features include:

• Current UV index where WeatherKit is available
• 24-hour and weekly UV forecasts
• Manual city option when location access is unavailable
• Skin type and SPF-based exposure estimates
• Minimum dose and maximum time timer modes
• Flip reminders and cover-up alerts
• Saved favourite places
• Local session history
• In-app safety disclosure and calculation notes

Solis is designed to avoid guessing when current UV is unavailable. Session timing is disabled until the app has current UV data.

Important safety information:
Solis is an informational app, not a medical device. Exposure estimates can vary with skin, medication, sunscreen use, reflection, altitude, cloud cover, forecast accuracy, and time exposed. Solis must not be used to diagnose, treat, prevent, or provide protection from sunburn, skin damage, heat illness, or skin cancer. Follow local public-health guidance and speak to a qualified clinician if you have questions about UV exposure.

## Version history (last 2 releases)

### 1.1 — 2026-05-24

Solis is clearer, calmer, and easier to use outdoors.

This update improves the Today dashboard, Forecast, onboarding, active session timer, Settings, accessibility contrast, and bottom spacing across the app.

UV risk, recommended actions, timer targets, forecast bands, and calculation assumptions are now easier to understand at a glance. We’ve also improved safety language throughout the app to be clearer and more trustworthy without overstating protection.

### 1.0 — 2026-05-19

No release notes.
