The problem comes when you watch the ads and still don’t receive the bonuses because of a glitch on their end. I have had several chances at less than 100 coins to retry I level, and as soon as I click retry an advertisement pops up, or a feature overrides my selection, and then I’m stuck spending 1,000 coins to retry the level instead of getting my discount. No strategy involved. You are unlikely to win a round without spending coin and it’s a lot of coins that only increases as you go. I got to level 80 and every game, you have to use up more than you gain. Not worth your time.
