## What is Solvalam?

Solvalam is a beautiful suite of Tamil word games designed for the 80 million Tamil speakers worldwide. Whether you grew up speaking Tamil at home, learned it in school, or want to reconnect with the language, Solvalam makes playing with Tamil words a joy.

Start with Word Search — find hidden Tamil words in a grid by swiping across letters. Each puzzle contains 8 words of varying difficulty, drawn from a curated list of over 21,000 Tamil words scored by real-world usage frequency. Common everyday words come first; literary and classical words appear as you progress.

After solving each puzzle, explore the meaning of every word you found, powered by the 63,896-entry Madras Tamil Lexicon — one of the most comprehensive Tamil dictionaries ever compiled.

A generous coin economy keeps the game rewarding without paywalls. Earn coins by completing puzzles, achieving perfect games, maintaining your daily streak, and watching optional ads. Spend coins on a 4-tier hint system that guides rather than solves: area highlight, first letter reveal, direction arrow, or full word reveal. Build your VIP tier (Bronze, Silver, Gold) for free hints and fewer ads.

One small bug is that once we use a hint on one row in the word jumble game, I can’t find a way to use hints on the later rows because it only applies hints to that one row.
