About

Butterfly ID helps you identify Danish butterflies directly on your iPhone. Take a photo, choose an image from your photo library or use live analysis (beta) out in the field. The app analyses the image locally on your phone and shows a suggested identification with the model’s confidence, possible alternatives and an explanation of how location and season affect the assessment. The app is designed for Danish conditions and focuses on butterflies in Denmark. Your municipality and the date can be used automatically as context, helping make the result more relevant to where and when you find the butterfly. Features: - Local image analysis directly on your phone - Works offline after installation - Take a photo or choose one from your photo library - Live analysis (beta) using the camera - Results with visual assessment and context - Explanation of the differences between image, location and season - Alternative species for uncertain identifications - Field guide with photos, identifying features, flight periods, habitats and similar species - Links to Naturbasen for more information and recorded sightings Butterfly ID is designed as a quick field tool for nature enthusiasts, families, photographers and anyone who wants to learn more about Danish butterflies. Identifications are suggestions and should be checked when dealing with rare species, poor photos or uncertain sightings. https://www.sommerfugl-id.dk/vilkaar
