I found it during an otome slump and have not stopped playing it. The stories are super cute and flirty, and have me grinning all day. The gameplay might be a bit repetitive, especially if you want to get every single outcome like me, but it’s definitely worth it. My favourite part though, is collecting all of the beautiful character art! ### 5/5 — Not for cop outs *2022-06-16* This game starts off nice and innocent, hits you with freebie items and coins for the first day of playing (if you download this I strongly suggest to abuse this first day to your max) and then sends you off into the rabbit hole of wildly guessing where characters will be in certain locations. And then after your first attempt, you grasp that the difficulty has been amped up right at the beginning. I don’t want to spoil this too much, but to romance one of the four options is hard. Of course, there’s always the sweet pay to win method of success, but there’s also the free way, which, although requires 10x the amount of effort- is doable. I have been sat over the past day or so writing down every occurrence of meet ups in every location since there seems to be no guide anywhere for this game, and I’ll be honest if it hadn’t been for romancing Titus on the 4/5th life and then losing him because I was too weak… I would’ve given up long ago. Tldr: Download if you’re up for a challenge and attractive love interests. The story doesn’t seem particularly unique however this opinion is subject to change once I can actually successfully complete the routes. I’ll update this review once I’ve completed the game. ### 5/5 — Fun but grindy *2022-05-19* Characters are sweet and pretty fleshed out. I do think the dialogue is a bit strange with how they narrate every action they make in certain scenes. There’s a lot of trial and error involved with this game as you learn how to balance meeting characters and increasing stats, so be prepared to restart several times (but that’s also part of the fun haha). I think overall, this is a game with lots of love and effort put into it (and the devs are active on discord!). I downloaded it and very quickly came to love everything about the game- the art style, the concept, and the character’s personalities. The character designs are simply marvelous, and the entire game itself is mesmerizing! So much about this game is incredibly unique from every other otome game I’ve played, and I have to say my mind was blown. The play style is very different from others, and it’s so much fun. What makes it all the better is that the team working on this game is only 3 people! I’m getting tired of static question and answer choice question otome games - especially the pay for the good answers games, ugh. So this was really fun to play as it’s more gamified with building up my MC from deciding where to go and who to meet on a daily basis! Plus the hot steamy scenes are NOT paywalled - thank you devs!!!! Though warning, you do die in the game quite a bit if you’re not managing your gameplay, but the replayability the devs built in with unlocking achievements and how every run through is different makes it entertaining to read. I keep discovering new scenes and new social media messages on my runs which I’ve died laughing at some npc messages 🤣 I’ve played through three of the four love interest routes and not to spoil things, but the meta the devs built in is SO AWESOME. Everything made sense after Aram’s route - which is the hardest and you do have to grind a bit, but it’s so so so worth it. Now I feel like replaying Titus and Soren’s route to see if I notice anything different knowing the truth! While it doesn’t play quite like a typical VN, the interactiveness and control you get are nice tweaks on the genre. There’s so many characters to meet, and it makes the game have great replay ability. I also like that’s it’s fully f2p. Yes, there’s ads, but they aren’t over the top. There are story details to catch in the world around you, and you need to be savvy to pursue the relationships you want (add to that growing your stats) and the game reminds me a bit of FE Three Houses. I also think the LI routes do something similar too, where you find out different details about the larger story depending on whose route you pursue. Def a team I want to continue supporting. I will say a minor critique is that while the personalities differ between the LIs, there’s not a huge amount of variance (e.g. once you build up the relationship they’re all pretty into you from the get go). **Developer response:** Thank you for your review! I really appreciate the different visual novel experience the devs created - a la dark souls style! In both the open world kind of idea and the deaths and replaying. Earning achievements and rewards for bad endings is a nice touch. While it’s a freemium game, it seems like you can free to play quite a bit of content through reruns and collecting all the various achievements. And if it’s not enough, you can ad grind. But I speed run the game by buying the coin bundle and it went a long way! It makes it a lot faster to unlock the achievements for more free items. I had missed out on their kickstarter and want to support Indie devs as much as possible. I noticed that every rerun seems different with more content I’m discovering which makes it interesting. And if I come across something that’s the same, the skip button is my friend 😂it looks like there may be more content in the future since there’s a locked dlc section. But it’s basically impossible to even get past the first basic stage to reach the actual good content even following dev tips and other user guides. Basically just another heavy micro transaction app. **Developer response:** Hello! We're sorry to hear that. We're actually just a small indie studio that consists of three women. But we wanted the game to be accessible to people so we made two of the routes free-to-play (Valentina & Titus). And the other two routes are intended to be paid routes as we'd like to be able to fully support ourselves one day. However, for those players who don't want to pay or if they do not have the means to, we did make ad watching unlimited to earn coins and also created many in-game achievements for dedicated replays that reward players with free in-game items and free coins, which can be used to unlock content. But we hope that if people enjoy what we've created, they might choose to purchase to unlock Soren or Aram to help us afford the opportunity to keep our doors open and continue to make games. Other than the three coin pack options, there are no other monetary transactions in the app. We priced it so that a single purchase of the medium coin pack at $3.99 can unlock a route, like Soren's. And for those who wish to be a completionist, a single purchase of the $12.99 coin pack can unlock the entirety of the game as we wanted the game to be cheaper than an otome console game from our personal experiences. Either way, we appreciate you checking out the game and following the release of Somnium Eleven back in February 2022 :) ### 1/5 — cant even log in *2022-09-05, version 1.1.10* can’t even get past the login in screen, and the forgot password doesn’t even work. have fun figuring that out 😑 ### 1/5 — money-grabbing waste of time *2022-05-19* i downloaded this app a few days ago. it’s pretty, has an interesting beginning, and has a lot of appealing characters. but, for whatever reason, you hardly ever interact with available love interests. you only come in contact with their friends, and that’s how you build your relationship with them. it’s frustrating to play a game without ever interacting with the person/people you’re playing it for. along with this, it’s got plot holes. so many things don’t make sense and they’re never cleared up. mc randomly appears in this trial for emperor out of nowhere and never questions it. also, the trials are based entirely upon luck. it’s time-consuming and irritating to put effort into building stamina, proficiency, charm, and knowledge, only to lose all progress in a game of chance. overall, i don’t recommend playing. it’s a waste of time. go install mystic messenger or some ikemen game instead. **Developer response:** Hello! Two of the four love interest routes are free-to-play. For those who don't want to / cannot pay, the other two routes can be with dedicated replay to collect achievements. We also made sure to include an unlimited ad watch option for players who’d like to utilize it to earn coins. Have you tried using the "how to connect" or "hints" in the stats section for each of the characters? That section will show which characters you need to meet first and hint where you can find them - and you only have to meet them once! - to be able to meet your desired love interest. This game is meant to be a social simulation where you have to meet with a love interest's friends first in order to meet the love interest (cue Spice Girls' 🎵 "If you wanna be my lover, you gotta get with my friends" 😉) Once you meet the love interest, we recommend spending most of your time with them to build up your relationship. We do NOT recommend spending significant time with their friends as it does not significantly build relationship with the love interest to get onto their route -- wanted to point that out as it is contrary to your assumption. As for the plot holes you mentioned, we hope you are able to stick around to post-Trial 2 as all of your questions are answered in the love interest routes that happen then! To get past the trials, please follow the quest lines in the "Quest" screen. Before each Trial, there is a specific set of quests listed there. If these are followed, you will be able to pass the trials! But I wished they made more datable options. I really like Eiriol and Ravenna but sadly I cant even romance them. Besides that its a good game worth the download! ### 4/5 — Can improve on writing for future products *2023-05-31* Writing needs to be concise. Less is more, conversation drag on for two long. Needs some sort of spark in the conversation, which seems passive also conversations were dull. Also romance exposition was kind of cheesy too many lines that sounded cheesy and presentation of the lines were off. You probably need to study some other romance visual novels to see how they present and what they write. Good first attempt. Also needs a save point before the second trial, too much rng for deaths and then you have to start over. And lose like 2 hours of your progress and all the coins and items you’ve spent during that time. CGI and events were ok. Weird asking for email, will probably put off a lot of people if keep asking for email as log in rather have a guest log in available. ### 4/5 — Fun *2022-05-07* This game is good - I enjoy how it is different from other mobile otome that I’ve played. The CG’s are, first and foremost, stunning. The social media system is admittedly a little stressful, but not quite like the trials. (Which, can be VERY difficult as advertised, but they can be overcome.) I specifically enjoy the interactions with the cast - I find everything a delight. The platonic scenarios. The romance scenarios. How those very scenarios aren’t locked behind some paywall. Let me start by saying as always with Nochi studio, they deliver such a massive amount of quality content with every single one of their games. I’ve paid far more and received far less from every other Otome interactive stories released from other studios. Please do yourself and your wallet a favor and don’t miss these beautiful stories. I loved every single route the offered but for some reason Titus and Aram resonated with me the most. I did play them in order as it made the story progression and knowledge gain overall make sense. In order by LI - Valentina, Titus, Soren, and then Aram. Gameplay and interaction: So the gameplay is interesting, I’ve never seen it worked quite like this for an Interactive Otome game. I recommend going to the Nochi Studio discord to get additional help for encounters and game play advice as you will need it. (They will provide you with the discord info within the game. It is and can be complex but highly rewarding. No spoilers but know that it’s well written and extremely satisfying to complete. So far, I’ve played through Titus, Val and Soren’s story (everything has a time and order, I think I may have done the opposite lol) - I don’t want to give spoilers, so… some different/alternate endings would’ve been great (even though it’d probably be more work for the devs and take up more space on our device, but it’d still worth be it)! EDIT: I’ve now played all stories and WOW! Time and order definitely means everything in this game. The only problem I encountered was trying to return to day 1 (the beginning). At the end when I tried, the app would only return to day 1 after trial 1 and trial 2. But stays loading when trying to return to a new life. The best I could do was: pay to return to day 1 after the first trial and then start a new new life through settings. ### 5/5 — More Hot Characters for Me to Gush Over *2022-07-15* I won’t lie, the art was what initially drew me to the game and I was surprised to discover that a game of this quality was made by an indie studio. Good job creators! (Valentina is so hot she can step on me.) I’m also a big fan of the design of the MC, it’s a lot more detailed than some of the MCs you would find in other otome games (so glad I don’t have to be a bland faceless girl anymore). The in-game social media and DMs feature was also something that I’m a big fan of and was looking for in an otome game. Overall I think that this is a really nice game to try out when you’re out of otome games to play! ### 5/5 — Love it so much!!!!! *2022-07-14* This is one of the most interesting and heart wrenching stories I’ve read in a long time! I followed the recommended route (Val, Titus, Soren and then Aram) and oh my!!! It was so gooooood!! I love how all of the routes stand alone but they weave into this bigger picture of the world and of MC. Everything makes so much sense and I want to replay their routes to catch everything now that I know the truth and the background of every LI. Aram’s route especially hits me hard because I can relate to it so much. And trust me, even though his route is a pod one, it’s so worth it! And it’s actually quite amazing that you can get so much story content for the amount paid (RIP console prices 🤣). The bigger bundle of coins was enough to get me through the routes along with the free energy chew and coins from achievements. Pro tip, buy energy chews when they’re on sale in the store and stock up! These carry in-between runs 👍 also I joined the discord server and the community is so nice in sharing tips so definitely recommend that if you want to unlock everything efficiently. The devs even pinned tips so supposedly they’re verified and blessed by them. So it’s easy to sift through the server to find what you need. The game is definitely worth the playthrough!!! ### 5/5 — Cool otome spin *2022-07-14* This game reminds me a bit of Persona but otome-fied which I personally love because I feel like I have a lot of freedom of choice in choosing how to build up MCs stats and choose where I want to explore and meet. I went after Titus and oh boy the scenes were spicyyyy 😍 And it’s awesome the devs made him a free to play route. You do have to make sure to manage your time carefully so you can meet him at the spicy locations like the spa and such. But this is easily doable with the awesome discord community that the devs linked to in the game. I started playing Soren’s route and the coins purchases are very reasonable and go a long long way! Plus I noticed that as you play more, you get rewarded with freebies from achievements which helps a lot. So it’s possible to play for free it seems, just gotta grind between the temple and achievement freebies.
