## What is SOMweb?

The data is safe, as it is not saved on external servers, but literally remains at home.
SOMweb device is required in order to control your SOMloq2 capable SOMMER garage door operator.

The SOMweb may only be used on the operator in combination with a photocell.

### 1/5 — No longer connects

After the last update, the app no longer connects to the SomWeb.   Luckily the SomWeb still works and is available through Apple Home.   Also, it has a security problem.  HomeKit can open the garage when it is locked via the wired door button panel (red light on).   I would think that all external access be disabled in this condition.   It bypasses the lock.

App is terrible. Hasn’t progressed in design or functionality in the 5 years that I’ve had one. Now on the second replacement controller because it fails every time you change your router. Customer support is non-existent. It does do what it’s supposed to do, but as soon as there’s an issue, putting it right is a painful, time consuming experience.

Ho dato quattro stelle all’app in quanto mancano due importanti parametri:
 il primo è una chiusura automatica dopo il comando di apertura ( a volte puoi dimenticarti di chiuderlo), 
la seconda riguarda una parziale compatibilità con il sistema Apple dove a volte non funzionano i camandi Home

The app is hit or miss in whether it connects to my doors. Mostly a lot of miss lately. Completely unreliable.

If you’re considering this “solution” for the remote operation of your garage door while you’re away, forget it. Mine regularly freezes, and the only way to get it back is a full power cycle. Not so convenient when I’m away.

As for the GUI - it’s as ugly as the SOMweb device itself. If the thing worked reliably, 24x7, as it should, then I could probably put up with a fully interface, but this is ugly and unreliable.

When my garage door motor is up for replacement, I will get an ABS model - Anything But Sommer - because this thing is a piece of junk.

Funktioniert bei mir bestens.
Allerdings sollte die App logischerweise auch in Carplay eingebunden werden sowie in die Watch, dann wäre es perfekt.

Buon prodotto, ma da quando hanno eliminato il supporto di ifttt  non è più possibile utilizzarlo con Alexa.

Not the most intuitive of software, but once it is set up it does do the job. Links nicely to Apple HomeKit so you can open your garage doors with a voice command on phone or watch. It gives notifications when the doors are opened or closed and can be set to remind you to close them if they have been left open for a while. 
All in all, it’s well worth spending a couple of hours setting it up.

Ich würde meinen Torantrieb gerne smart machen um nicht immer auf die Fernbedienung angewiesen zu sein. Jedoch macht es für mich nur Sinn mit einer Integration in Carplay und optimalerweise auch mit einer Apple Watch Unterstützung. 
Bis dahin bleibe ich leider bei der aktuellen manuellen Lösung
