Luckily the SomWeb still works and is available through Apple Home. Also, it has a security problem. HomeKit can open the garage when it is locked via the wired door button panel (red light on). I would think that all external access be disabled in this condition. It bypasses the lock. ### 1/5 — Awful *2025-05-22, version 2.3* App is terrible. Hasn’t progressed in design or functionality in the 5 years that I’ve had one. Now on the second replacement controller because it fails every time you change your router. Customer support is non-existent. It does do what it’s supposed to do, but as soon as there’s an issue, putting it right is a painful, time consuming experience. ### 1/5 — Rarely Connects *2024-11-08* The app is hit or miss in whether it connects to my doors. Don’t buy this - a waste of your money. ### 1/5 — Nach Werksreset funktioniert die Homekit Integration nicht mehr *2020-11-22, version 2.0* Sehr enttäuschend. Immer wieder gab es mal Verbindungsprobleme, daher hab ich zunächst mit verschiedenen WLAN Einstellungen experimentiert. Anschluss via USB/Ethernet Adapter brachte letztendlich Besserung. Leider hab ich das Gerät auf Werkseinstellungen resettet und aus Homekit entfernt. Mit der aktuellen iOS Version lässt es sich nun nicht mehr integrieren. 😩 für die Videofunktion (ein dreizeiler in der Entwicklung) soll nochmal tief in die Tasche gegriffen werden. Ganz schön erbärmlich für ein Gerät dass ein 200€ Gateway plus zusätzliches Equipment am Garagentor erfordert, um eine Funktion zu integrieren, die ein anderer Hersteller fertigt. Das is Schach @Sommer!!! ### 2/5 — Carplay & Apple Watch Integration fehlen *2023-03-17, version 2.2* Ich würde meinen Torantrieb gerne smart machen um nicht immer auf die Fernbedienung angewiesen zu sein. Jedoch macht es für mich nur Sinn mit einer Integration in Carplay und optimalerweise auch mit einer Apple Watch Unterstützung. Bis dahin bleibe ich leider bei der aktuellen manuellen Lösung ### 3/5 — Pathetically unreliable *2024-10-21, version 2.3* If you’re considering this “solution” for the remote operation of your garage door while you’re away, forget it. Mine regularly freezes, and the only way to get it back is a full power cycle. Not so convenient when I’m away. As for the GUI - it’s as ugly as the SOMweb device itself. If the thing worked reliably, 24x7, as it should, then I could probably put up with a fully interface, but this is ugly and unreliable. When my garage door motor is up for replacement, I will get an ABS model - Anything But Sommer - because this thing is a piece of junk. ### 3/5 — Alexa *2024-04-11, version 2.3* Buon prodotto, ma da quando hanno eliminato il supporto di ifttt non è più possibile utilizzarlo con Alexa. Ich wünsche mir nur die naheliegende Integration in Apple CarPlay um aus dem Auto eine Bedienung zu haben. In die Apple Watch wäre es auch mega. ### 4/5 — Ottima app *2025-02-13, version 2.3* Ho dato quattro stelle all’app in quanto mancano due importanti parametri: il primo è una chiusura automatica dopo il comando di apertura ( a volte puoi dimenticarti di chiuderlo), la seconda riguarda una parziale compatibilità con il sistema Apple dove a volte non funzionano i camandi Home ## Most praised reviews (6 highest-rated) ### 5/5 — Got there in the end.. *2023-11-25, version 2.3* Not the most intuitive of software, but once it is set up it does do the job. Links nicely to Apple HomeKit so you can open your garage doors with a voice command on phone or watch. It gives notifications when the doors are opened or closed and can be set to remind you to close them if they have been left open for a while. All in all, it’s well worth spending a couple of hours setting it up. ### 5/5 — Good app *2022-03-21* Set up isn’t too hard. No problems. ### 5/5 — funktioniert super, auch aus dem Ausland! *2019-05-15, version 1.24* Ich habe mir letzten Monat ein SOMweb für meinen SOMMER Garagentoröffner gekauft um auch unterwegs kontrollieren zu können ob ich mein Tor geschlossen habe. Auf dem iPhone funktioniert das bislang wunderbar. Mittlerweile nutze ich es sogar für Paketzustellungen.. DHL stellt das Paket in die Garage und nach Erhalt mach ich das Tor einfach wieder zu.
