It is simply the worst. Even the managers at my job hate it. I cannot understand why an app designer or company would allow such an abysmal app to be released for use to the public. Go back to the drawing board and try again. A scheduling app should make my work life easier, not harder. ### 1/5 — Worst app ever *2026-01-15* This is the worst work app I’ve ever used. No shift swaps, no requests off in the app, can’t cancel a released shift, can’t see exactly where you’re scheduled & much more. It manages to make even the simplest tasks unnecessarily difficult. You can’t properly view your monthly schedule, weekly hours are unclear, it’s impossible to easily see who’s working, and the interface is confusing and poorly designed. Even tracking your own shifts and hours feels frustrating. Instead of improving the employee experience, this app has made it significantly worse. It’s slower, less intuitive, and missing features that should be basic in any scheduling app. I genuinely don’t understand how this replaced a system that worked so well. While the goal of implementing new scheduling technology is understood, the current functionality of the platform has made scheduling processes significantly more complex and less efficient. Below are several of the primary concerns experienced by team members: Operational Limitations • Shift Swaps: Employees are currently unable to perform shift swaps within the system. • Released Shifts: Once a shift is released, it cannot be canceled or reclaimed by the employee who released it. • Management Approval Requirement: Released shifts must first be approved by management before becoming visible to staff. In many cases, this causes shifts to go unnoticed or unclaimed due to the delay. • EDO/RO Requests: The system does not appear to allow employees to submit EDO or RO requests, which were previously part of the scheduling process. Visibility & Transparency Issues • Employees cannot see where coworkers are scheduled, making coordination and shift coverage more difficult. • The app currently displays all job classifications, which creates confusion when trying to identify shifts relevant to a specific department or position. Technical Performance Issues • The “View Schedule” feature is inconsistent, sometimes showing an employee’s schedule correctly and other times displaying incomplete or incorrect information. • The app has demonstrated frequent glitches and instability during normal use. • The app constantly sends alerts of “open shifts” to which there are actually none User Experience Concerns • The application currently holds a 1-star rating in the App Store with virtually no positive feedback, which reflects the widespread user frustration with its functionality. • Rather than simplifying scheduling, the system has added additional complexity to what was previously a straightforward process. There’s tons of things missing: you can’t set your availability, there’s no tool to request days off, I can’t swap my shifts with other coworkers, there’s no difference between regular shift and on call shifts you gotta check your notes for that, the interface is a mess (I can definitely keep going on this list) besides that, the app has a function that’s totally USELESS: a map to show where you’re working Lol what’s the point? My colleagues find it easy to use and hugely convenient. We don’t have to stumble across 3-4 other apps for work, now everything done in one place. The only thing that would be great to have is the rota in the form of a calendar. It would make it some my easier to see the shifts my scrolling it by months then weeks like it is at the moment. Obviously, not all companies plan rotas month ahead but it still would be easier to see on which day you're meant to work or not. ### 4/5 — Great when it works *2025-08-18* This is a great app for work. I have forgotten to clock in or out on a few occasions. Recently I’ve had to delete and reinstall the app as it’s not been working. It stops the skivers leaving early and still getting paid!! lol… ### 3/5 — Features *2025-08-18* Decent app, my employer uses this for managing staff, but it’s desperately missing some kind of “notifications” tab. If a shift change happens, the lock screen notification just says “your shift on X day has changed”, but if you miss that notification or unlock your phone, Sona has no recollection of that happening in the app itself, so it becomes a mystery you have to somehow decrypt, especially if you rely on Sona for your schedule and don’t have another copy or screenshots, as you’ll have zero reference as to what the shift was originally. Just any kind of “history” page, or even having the push notification mention the start/end time the shift was changed from, and what it is now.
