The video/audio are OK, though not as good on mobile as on a pc. The problem will be: if you have issues with insurance, you’re left with no help from SonderMind. They don’t have a customer service number to assist. You can send an email and they will not respond. My daughter uses them as well and her therapist takes our insurance but can’t accept my daughter; the app and web have us in a loop of we must enter a payment card to move forward, which we have done several times, only for it not to move us forward. I have emailed SM and gotten 0 response as to why, how to solve, what the issue is, and who owns it. ### 3/5 — App needs help *2026-08-04, version 9.4.0* I love several features about SonderMind and my therapist that uses this app for us to connect: ease of scheduling, connection through video or phone, connection with the right therapist despite living remotely, being able to meet and prioritize my mental health when I’m traveling, and the access to the AI chat tool when I’m between appointments. However, despite me checking and double checking my notification settings, I do not get any notifications when she’s replied or changed our scheduled appointments. I also don’t get any emails or messages that we have an upcoming appointment like other apps I’ve used (like BetterHelp). When you are weighed down by life events, having these reminders the day before and the hour before your appointment is so important. I think SonderMind could improve this app so much if they could figure out how to do so. ### 4/5 — Great *2026-07-30, version 9.3.1* This has helped me significantly though I am noticing a bug with the AI feature, sometimes when I open the app or try and scroll up or out of the keyboard entirely the whole app will freeze, I’ll have to restart it 3-4 times just to get it working again and even then I have to be very careful not to leave the keyboard or move the screen too much or it will freeze again and I have to repeat the process. Other than that it’s been pretty useful ### 3/5 — Notifications don’t work *2026-07-23, version 9.3.1* Notifications never work! Very frustrating. ### 1/5 — Huge $$$ Scam *2026-07-11, version 9.3.0* Not a Professional Site! I was under the impression that this app would help serve clients like myself with a Professional therapist & it would be helpful?! Not so! Upon my very first session with mine I was concerned because I wanted to do the video sessions & At first mine only wanted to do the audio sessions. I had no idea who I was talking to or what she looked like & if her profile picture was even real? I contacted SonderMind inquiring about my concern for them to not care at all. Telling me that she had the option to just do whatever basically & I’m telling them that I would feel more comfortable with at least seeing who I was talking to ?! They then advised me that they could “help” me find another “therapist” although I told them that mine was ok for now & that was the only issue at that moment. On her profile it said she did video sessions?! Upon that first brief initial consultation with my “therapist” I clearly asked verbally if she accepted my insurance & told her twice what mine was. She said oh yes they accept it and I said are you sure and she said yes and for me not to worry about anything so then we book my sessions. 3 sessions later SonderMind emails me to tell me that my therapist is out of NETWORK?? I immediately contact my therapist who said that she wasn’t “aware” of that and would contact billing?! Needless to say Billing didn’t help! The SonderMind so call customer service is all about $$$!!! They don’t care about your wellbeing or your mental status!! Such a pathetic way to try to get over on hurting people who obviously needed the services!!!! I am highly disappointed!!!! ### 1/5 — Deleted my account and that didn’t stop the frustration *2026-07-11, version 9.3.0* Beware— providers can make appointments even after you remove them from your care team and explicitly tell them that you are establishing care with somebody else. I deactivated my account as I wanted switched to a place that my insurance covered completely. Lovett Ndubisi was able to schedule an appointment for me that I never knew about nor consented to. She had previously made an appointment for me I could not attend and did not agree to and I wrote to her not to do that again. The NP was able to schedule an appointment after I had removed from my provider care team and notified in writing via the app messenger that I would not be continuing care with her 2 months prior to my no-show appointment. I notified her in may that i was leaving Sondermind, account deactivation applied for immediately and email confirmation of deletion 6/4, and she attempted to bill no-show for appt 7/10. Even after account deactivation and paying all bills in full, your credit card remains on your account. The app was smart enough to reject attempts at a no-show billing on my deactivated account. But I feel uncomfortable my credit card remains billable and the customer service agent doesn’t have authority delete the credit card info on a deactivated Sondermind account. I cannot log into my deleted acccount but still get emails about “check in” questionnaires (which tipped me off about the unethically scheduled appointment). Customer service via is a quick response bot and the customer call line is hard to find on the website for if you have problems. The humans in customer service are kind. Romona was amazing and knowledgeable when handling my billing concerns. ### 1/5 — Scammy *2026-07-10, version 9.3.0* They aren’t transparent with the charges. $433 billed for a one hour appointment is disgusting and predatory. Taking advantage of vulnerable people is really messed up. ### 4/5 — Poor UI *2026-07-10, version 9.3.0* The app is almost unnavigable. I have 1 great psychiatrist I see regularly but it’s impossible to schedule a meeting with her thru the app as she’s apparently not on my Care Team. I can schedule appts with 50 other psychs and therapists though. It’s the worst. Their non-mobile website is the only helpful way to interact ### 4/5 — Sound *2026-07-03, version 9.2.2* The sound was terrible ### 1/5 — Therapy for 10 year old *2026-06-30, version 9.2.2* I have messaged the provider three times with no response. 2 appointments went fine then no links for our weekly appointments. Takes forever off they make an error to get through to a person. Referral issues, billing issues, locking accounts, not processing paperwork, assigning providers that don’t take your insurance and then an hour later being on hold with messages and getting harassing emails from their system. Use a better service and app. ### 2/5 — Initial scheduling does not communicate failure well *2026-06-17, version 9.2.1* When initially using the app, the scheduling is a “request” not actual schedule for a session. Because me payment was wrong the first session I “thought” I had didn’t go through. My scheduling request now that payment is fixed do nothing. This app need more clear communication in this regard. ### 1/5 — Complete scam - read the other 1-2 star reviews too. They’re all true! *2026-06-16, version 9.2.1* They mischarged me twice even though I talked to their agent who reassured me that my payment is adjusted to charge my insurance. After I was mischarged, I try to call their customer support line at least twice a day for 2 weeks straight and nobody answers. I also emailed them and nobody ever responded. There’s no customer support info on their app. You have to Google it. The only support on the app is the AI agent which doesn’t do anything except giving you mental health recommendations, which is useless when you need help with billing. Avoid this app if you wanna avoid the headache! ### 2/5 — The App isn’t that great *2026-06-16, version 9.2.1* Freezes, spins, etc I can book more then on session anymore. Sometimes it doesn’t even load/ gets perpetually stuck on loading screen. Nowhere to report application bugs ### 1/5 — TLDR: BUYER BEWARE *2026-08-29, version 9.4.1* I was paired to and set up an appointment with DID NOT show up to the agreed appointment time. THEN, she charged me $127.00 for HER NOT SHOWING UP. I reached out to this therapist regarding the matter and was given excuse after excuse. The app on the patient side does not show time stamps of the therapist responses; however when the therapist does reply you get an email. My appt was at 2pm and the therapist did not show, didn’t even respond to my chat at 215 until later that evening at 6:31…four and a half hours AFTER the agreed time! I used the contact information on the app (an email) and nothing was accomplished. Then I tracked down a phone number and spoke to a member who filed my complaint/report and said it would take seven days for a resolution. Also that I would be informed of the outcome. That seven day mark was four days ago. These tactics are extremely shady and pose immediate cause for concern. NO ONE has reached out and this is supposed to be an app to help people. Instead it looks to be another scam job where the company looks at you as a cash cow and does not actually care about your well being ### 1/5 — FRAUD! Beware. *2026-08-28, version 9.4.1* I had an appointment with a provider via this service that was cancelled. The platform still charged me for my copay, twice, and the provider still filed a claim against my insurance. This happened back in April 2026 and as of 8/28/26 I am still battling with SonderMind. They have zero customer service and the “cases” I submitted went months without a response. The provider went so far as to produce false documentation that a visit happened outside of the platform, once I filed a fraudulent claim with my insurance (which is also when SonderMind finally decided to answer my case). Fortunately I have the chat transcript from within their own platform to prove the visit didn’t happen. Avoid this service at all costs! Fraud fraud fraud!! ### 1/5 — Not IPad friendly *2026-08-12, version 9.4.0* Why can’t I use the this app on my iPad? It really helped me in my time of crisis - until I started getting billed unexpectedly, even though I have insurance. When signing up, they ask you for your insurance provider and immediately approve you for therapy sessions, only to find out that 7 months later, my insurance denied their coverage and now I’m paying thousands out of pocket. And don’t even get me started on trying to understand their billing system - it’s all over the place and makes no sense. My advise is: only start with SonderMind if you’re willing to pay out of pocket for every session. Don’t expect your insurance to cover it. About 95% of the time, the app doesn’t even load and if it does, it functions like a website from the 90s because it has NO purpose to help anyone - especially if they were traumatized by tech.
