Why carry around huge folders of chord charts, write song ideas on scraps of paper and forget melody ideas because you didn't have a dictaphone with you. Now all you need is Songhub to write, record, and perform songs wherever you are. Songwriting Songhub provides a great way of recording all your melody and lyrical ideas, and keeping them organised and with you all the time. Performing You can now carry every chord chart that you have and keep them automatically synced across all your devices. Create your set-lists and switch between your songs with a quick swipe. You can also transpose your songs to the key you will be performing them in, as well as setting a capo position which will automatically transpose the chords for you. Then simply share the set-list with other singers and musicians. Files Songhub 2 supports Word Documents (.docx and .doc), PDF's and .txt files so you can import all your current sheet music. Musicians As well as adding lyrics and chords with the chord creator, you can create guitar tablature within each song. I’ve tried to do restore purchase on my iPhone, iPad, & the web but it still doesn’t give me access to all my songs. This is the biggest downfall to songwriting apps. They never get long term updates. Use a common note taking app or a word editor that gets constant updates like Google Docs or else you are liable to lose your work. This developer has a long history of making great songwriting apps. He wrote the gold standard which was SongWriter and followed it up with SongHub after SongWriter was bought by another developer. That developer didn't continue to develop the app so it has stagnated. Since songwriting is such a small niche market I am more than happy to pay a subscription if it keeps the app stable & updated in the marketplace. It takes money to develop and continue to update an app. This app does what it needs to do. It's a great place to store lyrics of songs you're writing or the songs of others that you cover. The songs print beautifully if you need copies for a choir or others to follow. So why 4 stars? Having used the previous two this app doesn't feel quite as cohesive as SongWriter which I still consider the gold albeit dated standard. I'm not a fan of the home screen as it takes longer to get into your music. I would like to see a more modern and intuitive UI. I am a fan of the syncing feature that syncs everything between iPhone & iPad. Thank you for your history with SongWriter and Songhub — we'd love for you to give the app another look once we've made things right. ### 4/5 — Didn’t recognize my subscription *2020-05-07* I thought I’d try this for a month, permanently if it works as described. Initially, I was confused as to why the app and online versions don’t recognize my subscription. I contacted the developer via their Facebook page and they responded within a day and fixed the problem. I’ve been a devoted user of the original Songhub app for years, but it’s just become too buggy without support, and a recent iPad crash convinced me to move to another platform that has online sync and backup. I’m not aware of another songwriting app that offers recording, dictionary, set lists, and other features. Songhub 2 seems to do most of it, and if we keep supporting and guiding the developer, it may eventually incorporate all the features of the original, plus the benefits of backup and device sync. **Developer response:** Hi Jdc1524, thank you for sticking with us through the subscription mix-up and for the thoughtful review. However I’ve reached my limit, am trying to subscribe with a functioning credit card and says accepted but then keeps asking me to upgrade so I can add more songs. “Buggy” doesn’t begin to cover the frustration. **Developer response:** Hi Scbla, sorry the subscription screen kept blocking you even with a valid card — that's a bug, not something you did wrong. I’m currently back using Songhub 2, as Songhub started functioning inconsistently.
