## What is Songkrate?

Songkrate is safe music streaming for kids, because you choose every song.

Each of your kids gets their own player holding only the music you approved, picked from the full Apple Music catalog. No autoplay into the unknown, no algorithm, no search bar into 100 million songs. Real freedom inside the boundary you set.

HOW IT WORKS

1. Connect Apple Music — sign in with the subscription you already pay for. No new music service.
2. Curate the library — browse the full Apple Music catalog and add exactly what's allowed. Albums, artists, individual songs — your call.
3. Hand it over — give each kid a profile and let them play. They get a gorgeous music app. You get peace of mind.

A PROFILE FOR EACH CHILD

Every child gets their own curated library, playlists, and favorites. Switch profiles with a tap, or lock the iPad to one. Parent mode is protected by a PIN, so kids stay in their lane.

ONLY WHAT YOU ALLOWED

If you didn't add it, it's not there. Kids browse and play freely inside a library you built — no surprises, no exploring the wider catalog, no explicit tracks sneaking in.

REAL APPLE MUSIC PLAYBACK

Native, lossless audio through your existing Apple Music subscription. Plays everywhere Apple Music plays — HomePod, AirPlay, CarPlay, Bluetooth.

MADE FOR THE WAY FAMILIES LISTEN

- The shared iPad: one device, several kids, different tastes — each with their own profile.
- The road trip: let the kids DJ from the back seat without playing anything you'd regret.
- Dinnertime: curate a profile for shared moments and let everyone queue something they love.

MANAGE FROM YOUR PHONE

Add a song to your kid's library while they're listening. Invite another parent or guardian to help curate. Everything updates everywhere, instantly.

WORKS WITH SCREEN TIME

Songkrate is designed to sit comfortably alongside Screen Time. A short setup keeps Apple Music available to Songkrate while everything else on your kid's device stays locked down.

Parents hold the account. Kids never sign in, never enter personal information, and never leave the library you built for them.

Start with a free trial. Subscribe only when you're ready.

## Version history (last 5 releases)

### 1.4.2 — 2026-09-05

Fixes a bug where songs from albums you added out of your own Apple Music library did not show up in your kid's listening history. Everything played fine; the history just missed it. Requires Apple Music, sold separately.

### 1.4.1 — 2026-09-02

Songkrate is safe music streaming for kids: their player holds only the songs you approve. This update sharpens that promise with a refreshed welcome screen. Requires Apple Music, sold separately.

### 1.4 — 2026-09-01

You can now talk to us right from the app. Open Settings and tap “Talk to us” to report a problem, share an idea, or just say hello — we read every note and reply by email.

Also in this release: reliability improvements and small fixes.

### 1.3 — 2026-08-18

You can now sign in on an iPad or Apple TV by holding it up to a phone that is already signed in. The device shows a QR code, you scan it with the Camera app, and you approve it on the phone. No typing a password with a remote.

Settings has been reorganised so things are where you would expect to find them, and you can rename a signed-in device by tapping its name.

If your session ends, because you removed the device or signed out elsewhere, the app now returns you to the sign-in screen wherever you happen to be, and stops the music, instead of sitting there failing.

### 1.2.2 — 2026-08-07

You can now let kids leave their profile without the parent PIN on Apple TV, from Settings. It applies to the TV only, where there is nothing else for them to reach.

The subscribe screen is clearer about what you are paying for, and if you cancel, the app now tells you the date your subscription runs until.
