I’m not one to review apps and this might actually be a first for me. I’m only doing this because I hope someone is listening that can fix these issues. And if you do, I give you my word that I will update my review if that is allowed. The app FREEZES randomly and crashes. Secondly an undo button would be really great for when it glitches on a freeze and you accidentally delete an entire section. ### 2/5 — No Accessibility Options *2024-05-01* This looks like a useful app. I would love to try it, but there is absolutely no way to make the text larger. There is some implementation of the systemwide text accessibility, but it does not do anything to the actual text for song lyrics. So the app could be great, but if I can’t see it, it is completely useless. It is very sad when developers do not prioritize accessibility from the start. I planned to write the developer directly, but the links in the app to request support or suggest a feature seems to require that I use the built in Apple Mail app. I do not, so I have no way to reach out the to developer. Would be amazing if app worked for Spanish speaking songwriters but currently it does not. ### 5/5 — This is a great app! *2022-06-03* But what’s even better than it being a great app is that, when I had a technical problem, which is expected in any app, they quickly answered my email with organized, clear instructions that quickly and thoroughly corrected my issue. Luckily the support team is amazing and helped me recover all my data efficiently and effectively. Hence the title amazing app and amazing support team! ### 5/5 — Unable to sign in *2022-05-30, version 2.52* Throws up an error message when trying to sign in. Was a good app but at present useless. Had the best response from any app I’ve had a problem with. Developer team responded very quickly and sorted things out straight away. ### 2/5 — Stopped letting me log in *2022-05-25, version 2.52* Unfortunately I did a lot of work on this app and suddenly whenever I try to log in I’m given an error message reading (AWSMobileClientXCF.AWSMobileClientError error 9). It was a good app when it worked for me but I’m quite disappointed now. ### 2/5 — Signed Me Out *2022-05-25, version 2.51* I’ve been using this app to record and write songs since the beginning of 2021. After I started using it I never used any other apps. Today I went in trying to write another song and I was logged out. I couldn’t remember my password so I tried to reset it and although I was using special characters it wouldn’t let me reset. I have 30+ songs written. Some from earlier than 2021. So this feels like a smack in the face. ### 5/5 — MUCH better than using multiple apps.. Voice Memo, Notes/lyrics, Rhyme generator and MORE! Love it! *2022-02-14, version 2.34* I had always used the notes app to quickly write lyrics and ideas, and then i would use the voice memo to record scratch recordings, but this app has that all and MORE! I have never been able to log in. A screen is spinning saying it’s updating and to contact them if it doesn’t update. I don’t know how to contact the developer as the app is unresponsive so I can’t get to an info or help screen. Total waste of money so far. I’m going to up my efforts to get the app running but otherwise will cancel. ### 1/5 — Really Disappointed *2024-07-23* I purchased this app years ago when it was just starting out, when it was originally a paid app and once you paid the less than $5 it was yours to keep. Really disappointed to see that this developer sold out and started a premium subscription, and even more disappointed that they couldn’t grandfather-in those who already purchased the app. Just plain greedy. The “free” version (which actually wasn’t even free for me as I originally paid money to buy the app) is basically unusable. **Developer response:** Thank you for sharing your thoughts. While our old version was a great proof of concept, it had a limited infrastructure that prevented us from introducing the most requested features from our customers. As a result, we built a new foundation with an upgraded writing experience. It features automatic backups, multi-device sync, and advanced writing tools, including improved chord functionality, light multi-tracking, and new rhyme/word tools. These new features, along with more to come, would not have been possible without shifting to a subscription model. We appreciate your feedback and understand the concerns about changes in pricing. Unfortunately, this update has brought about a glitch that has locked me out of my extensive library of lyrics. As a dedicated user, this has been an incredibly frustrating experience. I reached out to the Songwriter Pro team to address the issue and was advised not to delete and reinstall the app for now. However, this problem has persisted for weeks, leaving me unable to access my precious lyrics. The current version of the app has put everything I have written in jeopardy, and I am now locked out. I urge the Songwriter Pro team to prioritize fixing this software issue as soon as possible. In the meantime, I kindly request assistance in recovering my lyrics. It is disheartening to encounter such a roadblock, especially after years of loyal usage. I hope that Songwriter Pro will take swift action to resolve this matter. Thank you for your attention and understanding. ### 1/5 — App lost my songs *2023-12-16* Opened Songwriter Pro today, screen first offered free trial for new subscription service, which I declined, then taken to a the Home Screen which was frozen. Restarted iPhone several times in an email unsuccessful attempt to make it work, then reinstalled app, which didn’t help, then agreed to the 14 day free trial of the subscription. Now none of my many, many songs show up on the Home Screen. Years worth of work has vanished. I sent a message to the app and, if they can retrieve my songs, I will update this review. Just now it’s taking over an hour to update the app. There are massive games with much more IP and advanced programming yet this takes more time to update. Song lyrics have deleted on there own, not once or twice, but on multiple occasions. Decided I cannot continue using. When I brought a new one and logged in again, the app doesn’t have any record of my songs. And support cannot recover it.
