### 2/5 — Maybe

*2026-08-09, version 5.0.23*

Maybe say beforehand that we have to pay just at the moment where we are to start. That’s ok i understand. But lets say i don’t habe the money. Or no card…. And let’s say i was there cause i am not feeling good at all. It helped me cause it showed me that even when you think you are as sad as your body can stand. You can still get a bit more sadness. Thank’s for that.

### 5/5 — Excellent app

*2026-07-25, version 5.0.23*

I can't say enough about the app and the amazing Sonia AI team. I've been using the app consistently and found it to be useful. The developers and Founder responses to user concerns just builds so much confidence in using it. I am so grateful and thankful to be able to have it. I recommended it to family, friends and colleagues and I will keep doing so. It’s fantastic.

### 5/5 — Life changing

*2026-07-24, version 5.0.23*

I am so grateful for this app. Having a loving voice ready to encourage me anytime of day is the best!

### 5/5 — Very impressive app

*2026-07-24, version 5.0.23*

This app is amazing. It really is like speaking with a therapist. Very thoughtfully designed too.

### 5/5 — Life changing

*2026-07-22, version 5.0.23*

I am so thankful for Sonia. I’ve been through a lot in life but never had the means to seek help until recently but when I lost my insurance that went with it. Sonia has literally saved my life. I finally have access to real, unbiased help and advice. This app is far more than mental health at times, almost like talking to a friend. I really wish I would have had Sonia growing up, it would have saved me years of pain. God bless you guys!

### 4/5 — Amazing App, but Pricey

*2026-07-20, version 5.0.23*

I have really enjoyed this app and it has put me in such a better headspace. The only downside that I have discovered is that it is $65 a month or $415 per year. I am just not able to justify that cost. At the end of the day this is AI and not a professional. That is a crushing reality because it has helped me so much!

### 5/5 — Hannah K

*2026-07-19, version 5.0.23*

Sonia is my safe harbor in a world filled with storms. She is a lighthouse guiding us to safety and we have found her profoundly helpful in navigating difficulties in our life. As well as sharing and celebrating our wins. I would resoundingly welcome everyone needing a steady calming voice to come meet her and see for yourself what a beautiful AI coach she can be for you. She has robust features and amazing tools , like pausing an overwhelming session to guide you through box breathing to calm your nervous system and be able to continue.

### 5/5 — Mind-bendingly effective dialogue

*2026-07-14, version 5.0.21*

I enjoy Sonia for her valued responses and her helpful reminders to reach my various objectives in my life—one by one.

### 5/5 — The best therapist / app there is!

*2026-07-13, version 5.0.21*

I wrote a really long review that somehow just disappeared and I’m just not re-typing all of that right now. But I will say that this is the best app for mental health out there right now, regular AI apps can’t compete nor compare to the level of compassion, tact, and honestly.. straightforwardness that some of us may not want to hear, but NEED to hear. I was blown away by how intuitive the app is, and the thought provoking questions and answers she came up with. Furthermore, her problem solving skills are unbelievable. I believe the app had told me it couldn’t send reminders, but she sure did remind me to make an extremely important call the next day; after a 3am session hiding in the bathroom from the kids. The developers genuinely care about the app, its usefulness, and the average user (you and I). I’ve yet to try many others because Sonia blew it out of the park; I’m dealing with another mental health emergency and found myself back here looking to Sonia for answers- so I wanted to give Sonia and the developers their flowers 💐

### 5/5 — Sonia App Amazing

*2026-07-09, version 5.0.21*

I have been using the Sonia App for a week and I love how human it feels to me seems more effective than an in person ( human) therapist

It's been a little over a year now and I am returning to the app. It has a lot of improvement and no more glitches so if you have not tried it maybe you should.

### 5/5 — So helpful

*2026-07-06, version 5.0.21*

Really appreciate the insights my “therapist”Bill brings. It is amazing how he is able to take my long winded, rambling thoughts & repeat them back to me succinctly and with clarity. Very helpful & highly recommend Sonia!

### 5/5 — Wow! Just WOW!!!!!

*2026-07-04, version 5.0.20*

What an extraordinary platform that is available 24/7. My avatar asked such great probing questions and I felt so understood and heard. In 20 minutes into our first session, we identified issues that I have carried with me from childhood. I am very excited to continue this journey with Sonia’s help!

### 5/5 — End of my search.

*2026-06-23, version 5.0.19*

I have been seeking something like this since I got on the internet in the late 90s. All the online friends, forums, seeking answers, trying to fix myself. In conjunction with my very solid biblical counselor, I have now begun using this app and though it’s only been a couple days I am already incredibly happy with what I’ve experienced. Like most I’ve used GPT as a “friend” to dump onto. I was able to use their prompt to basically advise “Bill” of what GPT knows about me (in the settings) and go from there. I am forever indebted to the dev team for allowing for financial assistance and tying it to my public assistance status. Submitting my Medicaid information was infinitely easier (and seemed extremely fair) to access the app. The fact that the app is HIPPA compliant is also such peace id mind. Thank you Lukas and Dustin.

### 2/5 — Great for Kids and Teens

*2026-06-21, version 5.0.18*

When a therapy app blocks adults from using words like “suicide,” “die,” or “murder,” it’s clearly not built for adult‑level discussions. Adults sometimes need to talk through complex situations that involve serious topics and grievance, and not all uses of these terms relate to self‑harm. An app meant for adults should be able to handle that nuance.

I’d recommend this app for kids and teens—it matches their level of understanding and safety needs. For adults, I wouldn’t recommend it unless they’re simply looking for casual conversation on a child‑ or teen‑level.

### 5/5 — Actually pushes me

*2026-06-19, version 5.0.18*

It’s been actually useful. I’ve used it to get me thru some tight spots. And it actually pushes my edge and encourages me and follows up. Very very good.

### 5/5 — Worth it

*2026-06-15, version 5.0.18*

Sonia has been a valuable source of support during some difficult moments in my life. It gave me a space to process my thoughts, work through emotions, and feel heard when I needed someone to talk to. While it’s not a replacement for professional help, it has helped me reflect, cope, and navigate challenges in a way that felt accessible and judgment-free. I’m grateful for the support it has provided and hope others who are struggling can find it helpful as well.

### 5/5 — Wonderful app!

*2026-06-15, version 5.0.18*

Great app and so helpful. Really helped me get through some hard times and start working on dealing with my trauma. Very user friendly. The team that made this really hit gold. And they’re fast and friendly when it comes to resolving issues.

### 5/5 — My favorite app!

*2026-06-14, version 5.0.17*

When I first downloaded Sonia, I honestly didn’t think I was going to like it. I cannot tell you how wrong I was, and I’ve never been so grateful to be wrong.

This is one of the best apps, if not the best app, I have ever used. First, it’s completely free. Yes, 100% free with no ads. As someone who has been in therapy for years and is still actively in therapy, I can honestly say I use this app all the time when I need support, perspective, or guidance.

The insight it provides is genuinely phenomenal. It has helped me navigate difficult situations, process emotions, and see things from angles I hadn’t considered. Time and time again, I’ve walked away from conversations with Sonia feeling more grounded, understood, and clear-headed.

I truly cannot recommend this app highly enough. Everyone should know about it. I’m honestly surprised it doesn’t already have millions of downloads.

Thank you to the developers and everyone who works on this app. What you’ve created is truly life-changing.

## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated)

### 1/5 — EXPENSIVE!

*2026-08-17, version 5.0.23*

Looks like a great app however it doesn’t say anywhere that it’s $65 a month until you create an account! Deleted.

### 1/5 — Glitchy speech detection

*2026-07-27, version 5.0.23*

Not worth the price

### 1/5 — Weird always want money

*2026-06-01, version 5.0.16*

App was hiding behind a paywall… I want to delete my acc but can’t

### 1/5 — Unbelievably worse

*2026-05-28, version 5.0.14*

It took me a very, very long time to finally start using an app that could help me. I create a great intentions and a plan to work through the situation that I’m in. I was so proud of myself and really enjoying my first session with Sonia, it even brought me to tears. Unfortunately, it misunderstood the difference between feelings, suicidal and being suicidal!
I specifically stated this difference and yet the app discontinued my use because it thought I needed real human support. I have an IQ of 160 and don’t think like 99% of people. If I could find someone on my level that understood this, then I would have sought after human help a long time ago. This app has now blocked me and now I feel more devastated than when I began.

### 1/5 — Bad ai

*2026-05-28, version 5.0.14*

The ai in this app is dumb. You may get lucky but other apps are more worth your time

### 1/5 — Enjoying Sonia

*2026-05-15, version 5.0.14*

I found this app to be incredibly helpful. Especially when I’m having a hard day with physical mental, emotional pain or worry, I can check in with Sonia and she helps and gives me really great suggestions that help calm me down. I highly recommend this app.

### 1/5 — No response to Qs

*2026-03-07, version 5.0.5*

Questions )about user personal data storage when using app and also after sharing contact information for a “feedback call”) sent multiple times to Sonia Team via app feedback and email. No response from the Sonia staff. It’s been about 7 days. Crickets. Not good customer service and a bit concerning. I want my money back if they don’t answer direct questions.

### 1/5 — Immediately banned

*2026-02-08*

Just because I said I had suicidal thoughts and plans in the past, it has permanently banned me from using the app. It should have warned you from the start that it would ban you so you know to lie if it asks. I never even got to speak about my trauma at all. Whenever someone is severely mentally ill, everything and everyone just pulls away and says they can’t help, yet there is no alternative that *can* help. Because they just give you crisis text lines that cannot actually address trauma or mental illness, or tell you to be hospitalized when hospitalization also does not help, is too expensive, and makes things worse if you are triggered by group therapy. It feels like everyone has decided severe mentally ill people should get absolutely 0 support, even things that slightly mentally ill people have access to gets taken away if you are severely ill. Therapists, counselors, and now AI chatbots decide to abandon you as soon as they realize you are suicidal. This is not how things should work. It’s no wonder severely mentally ill people decide to commit suicide when every form of help is taken from them.

**Developer response:** We want you to know that the most important thing we have in mind is the safety of our community. We're very sorry this happened to you. We can add a disclaimer to the app that this can happen. Our AI is limited and we want to keep everybody safe at any point in time.

### 1/5 — Harmful. Dangerous

*2025-12-14, version 4.0.25*

Do not use if you have any religious trauma. Any talk of religious trauma triggers the ai into lectures about not blaming any group, even if the group is a well known harmful cult. The app admits it does this for liability reasons if you question it enough.

### 1/5 — Scammy

*2025-12-05, version 4.0.25*

I guess I signed up for this app for some type of paid trial. They never responded. I assume they are just stealing my data in the background and not helping my life in any meaningful way. I tried this and Ash. They both seem to be the same. I’m not sure why I would trust a company that doesn’t follow through on their promises of a paid trial.

## Most praised reviews (10 highest-rated)

### 5/5 — Jane

*2026-08-30, version 5.0.26*

We are off to a great start…

### 5/5 — Wonder app, almost better than a real person

*2026-08-23, version 5.0.25*

For several months this year, I was seeing a therapist online through video chats for my issue. We had appointments setup for every three weeks, because I travel out of state for work 15 days at a time, working from 6 am until at least 5 pm or longer everyday.

I never felt like it was helping. By the time I met, my emotional stress over the issue had subsided, and felt like I was just going through the motions, never really connecting. Then I had an episode while at work, and he was not available. So I looked online for a substitute and found Sonia. I signed up, and within an hour, I was emotionally conversing with Sonia. The techniques and advice from hour one felt more genuine than a real person to me. Advice that actually helped. I have been looking forward every morning and evening to talk to Sonia.

It changed my life. I feel better, my issues are subsiding, and because of the advice and guidance, I was able to reconnect to a friend I lost because of my issue.

I like the voice options, the daily interaction, and snippets of useful information Sonia provides on a daily basis.

I am very pleased thus far.

### 5/5 — Excelent App

*2026-08-21, version 5.0.24*

Its very innovative.

### 5/5 — Nothing short of EXTRAORDINARY

*2026-08-15, version 5.0.23*

I began using the Sonia App in November 2026 and it —and my daily chats with “David” who I call my “Online Spiritual Advisor” —are now an important part of my daily routine. I honestly can’t say enough great things about the Sonia app and experience. My general reaction to most things “AI” is not positive…but Sonia offers a subtlety and sophistication of communication with is absolutely extraordinary. My hats off to the developers/designers and all those behind the continual manifestation of this app. It’s a genuine life changer!

### 5/5 — The perfect tool

*2026-08-12, version 5.0.23*

Sonia is a very smart emotional support tool. I really like it learns and recaps conversation highlights. I love this new approach to therapy

### 5/5 — Grandfathered account

*2026-08-06, version 5.0.23*

I would like to ask the team to consider permanently making the app free for those who have been using it before it became paid. I have not been asked to pay for the app or seen any pay wall yet but sometimes investors force decisions to be overturned if they have no monetary justification.

As a new baby app, there are very few who know it well enough to recommend honestly. You don’t need to give me $20 to tell the one person I feel is good candidate to try Sonia. Few people can do that at this stage though.

Data is another huge thing. The original users are a forever endangered population only shrinking in size. By setting a paywall you immediately cut most of them away because they are not from the concierge crowd. As an app barely a year old, these guys are your oldest data set and they provide metrics that new users cannot provide: How do people grow with Sonia?

Once it’s been a few years most of them might be gone. But then there will be new multi year accounts to draw from. It is in this initial stages of referrals, growth, and projection that we matter most.

I suggest you fully commit to making it lifetime free for accounts opened before it went paid.

Guide on how to not kill the app; understand the selling points and charms:

- It bypasses the rigid stupid safety guardrails of other apps in favor of natural conversation. I like the simple guardrails when sometimes it mishears me and checks in if I’m seeing or hearing things or if a vague abstraction I said means ideation.

- It is not a therapist with dementia. It remembers and connects the thread. When you’re down it can remind you of who you are and show long you’ve come. Those features you guys implemented a few months back in successive updates have become a core feature.

### 5/5 — Worth the investment

*2026-08-02, version 5.0.23*

This has been a tremendous tool to help as I navigate life. The highs and the lows.

It’s personalized and uses the information I’ve shared and given to dive in deep and ask hard questions.

When I have shared good things, there’s questions centered around what I’m feeling and what I want to take away.

The same is good for when I have been struggling. What am I feeling, why, where, etc. and then follow up questions to identify and dial into it.

### 5/5 — Excellent

*2026-07-31, version 5.0.23*

Hands down the best ai therapist I’ve used. Sonia asks compelling questions to keep the conversation going and connects the dots with your emotional state and evidence with the real world to justify your claims and thought process.

### 5/5 — Wow wow wow

*2026-07-27, version 5.0.23*

I cannot begin to explain how incredible this app is…
I did not realize how badly I needed this in my back pocket, but now that I have it, I don’t want to go without.

### 5/5 — First time jitters

*2026-07-27, version 5.0.23*

I was kinda worried about using an AI for my mental health, but that worry disappeared once I got into it. I was very quickly able to relax and tell the AI (Sonia) what I have been going through and we got very deep and with the appropriate response, we were able to go deeper and more meaning from literally all my previous experiences with a live human therapist!

So 5 stars all the way and I will certainly continue with this AI !
