I never finished this version because it was so hard but I keep trying because I love this world. My biggest complaint is the game asking you if you want to watch an ad after every battle. At least it doesn’t force you to but I payed for this app already. ### 4/5 — Nostalgic *2026-06-28, version 2.0.20* Great game from the Armor Games day ### 3/5 — Fine game, disappointing remake *2026-05-10, version 2.0.20* The game itself is fine to new fans. It’s basic, but fun if you ignore the heavy RNG with certain playstyles. But as a remake of a fantastic flash game which by the way still absolutely holds up to this day, the only good thing I have to say about Sonny (2017) is the music. The sprites are nice, but it can’t be ignored that characters dont have a single combat animation and do not change their appearance with equipment, both of which were features in the flash games. FLASH games. This is an outright downgrade, and it frustrates me! Cant see anything u equip, everything is literally a image just moving, its a watch video or lose your fight game. ### 5/5 — Not Quite the Flash Version *2025-03-11, version 2.0.20* The title is a bit misleading as this is still a great game, the flash version was just one of my favorite flash games of all time. Strategy, party, and cooldown management all play a big role. People complain about the need to grind, but I just finished a legend playthrough (no training to grind for levels). It was hard but absolutely doable. Well made and balanced game. My only gripe is the enemies that artificially increase difficulty by just reflecting damage done back at the player. The rest is awesome. ### 5/5 — Classic remastered *2025-03-11* I was always a fan of the Sonny series since Adobe flash days and was delighted to see it available on the App Store. This is a nice remaster with touch controls. No outrageous ads, just freedom to choose when you want to take advantage of them. And no microtransactions shoved down your throat. Love this game so much since playing it in 2012 ## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated) ### 1/5 — Worst Sonny Game to Exist *2026-03-16, version 2.0.20* The title says everything. The skills are boring, you unlock new skill trees but no place to put them, evolve idea is so bad you barely use it, the “train” area where you’re supposed to get gear and exp is sometimes harder than the main event (i assume to make you watch an ad) the shop is ok at best a lot of the skills are the same just different element which makes for a boring experience.. again worst Sonny game to ever do it. Go play Sonny 1 and Sonny 2, either on armor games or steam. ### 1/5 — Great game if you can get past the title menu! *2026-02-07, version 2.0.20* I LOVE this game! I grew up playing the original and Sonny 2 on Armor games. No beef with the game other than ever since iOS 26, I can’t get past the loading menu. It simply freezes and I cannot proceed into the game. I’m hoping the devs will work on an update to make this game playable again! ### 1/5 — A huge insult to the originals. *2025-11-08, version 2.0.20* The dev took away everything that made the originals fun and unique and instead spent all his resources on better looking sprites and special effects. I get it’s not a flash game anymore, but to not have the characters hold or wear any weapons or armor at all, not to mention they don’t move AT ALL. They are literal sprites with no movements. A still image. They just shoot across the battlefield and tap the enemy for an attack. It’s pitiful. A huge insult to the originals. You can tell this was a cash grab at first, then they realized what absolute disgrace this “re imagining” was and offered it for free as this did cost 4.99 at launch. ### 1/5 — Music won’t stay off *2025-01-29, version 2.0.20* Please fix the game and update it so the music stays off when turning it off. Annoying feature! 5 star game! 0 star bug ### 1/5 — Same enemies get harder as your character levels *2024-03-22, version 2.0.20* I had to grind hard to progress through the story on stage 6, but after I hit a wall in story mode, I went to training. There was only one combination of enemies that I could beat IN TRAINING by that point, so I kept refreshing the training fight until I had that same combination of enemies. Eventually I had a winning strategy, so I just grinded that combination of enemies The more I leveled up, I started dying against that same combination of enemies Dev needs to learn how to make games again, because when you level up a character, the particular stages in the game should get EASIER, not HARDER So much potential wasted. Another greedy dev trying to spam ads for zero benefit ### 1/5 — Team Dif *2023-10-06, version 2.0.20* It was fun for a bit, but eventually the game breaking CPU having your teammates use the absolute worst move possible for their turn over and over gets incessantly annoying. So much so that it limits what skills you can bring because Veradux will always open with the only other dispel ability for some reason and the doctor will always weaken the weakest enemy. I lost count how many times the two healers on my team completely ignore me while on critical health to either heal the other teammate or just attack a full health enemy when the enemy carry is at critical health which almost always results in my death. I can’t switch to a healer myself either because the two damage dealers on the team have the same exact problem. There is no way to reliably direct your teammates abilities in any way that matters and some traits have absolutely no way to do this. The game is way too reliant on luck. ### 1/5 — Barely like the original *2023-08-20, version 2.0.20* Please just port over the original two. Everything that made this game cool is missing, it seems overly streamlined. ### 1/5 — Compared to the computer version, Sub-par *2023-03-10, version 2.0.20* The people didn’t try as hard as with the first game, they needed to support this game more, the armor wasn’t worn by the people, very static feel compared to how alive the first sonny felt. No ads, no connection needed (great commute company), fun characters, lots of builds to experiment with, great music… I could go on.
