## Newest reviews (14 of 50)

### 4/5 — Need newer widget capability

*2021-02-23, version 3.4*

Works well enough, but I’d much rather see this in the native widgets rather than being stuck on the Today screen.

### 4/5 — Simple to set up and use

*2020-12-06, version 3.4*

Using with a phone and watch on S1 speakers. Works really well for control of playback and volume.

No grouping settings, so maybe not what you need if you swap groupings quite a bit.

Would give it 5 stars but the UI could use some polish:
- No clear indication when playing vs paused on watch.
- Volume control is increment/decrement with no indication of current volume. Would be nice to have a slider.

### 4/5 — Excellent App!

*2019-04-18, version 3.2.2*

I’ve been using it for about 2 weeks now with my Apple Watch 3 and no complaints. It covers all the critical functionality I need, including grouping zones which is key for me. It works reliably if Sonos is already turned on, however, I cannot turn on or “play” Sonos from “off” with my watch. It is shocking Sonos has not created their own watch app, this is a great app!

**Developer response:** Thanks for taking the time to write a review! Not sure I completely understand the issue where you could not turn your system “on” from being “off”. Please send us an email at info@toricbits.com and we can have a look at it.

### 3/5 — Useful for Watch

*2019-03-13, version 3.2.2*

Provides basic controls for Watch os5. It easily found all my Sonos units and allows room switching, but only after learning that a Force Touch (holding down your finger on main screen) switches to a two button menu with “Groups” & “Mute” controls. “Groups” control allows you to switch rooms. All I wanted was mute and volume controls from Watch while system is already on and this app provides that.

**Developer response:** Thanks for the review. Happy to hear you enjoy Sonobit!

### 4/5 — Almost Perfect

*2019-03-06, version 3.2.2*

Nice app. Bought primarily for Apple Watch support, which is my backup when phone is not near. Two items would make perfect. One is instant volume control using the crown to support the frequent use case when you cannot move your attention to the screen. (Think kids:) Second would be adding a small complication that would allow faster launching of the app when you do have access to the watch face. Is either in your future?

**Developer response:** Thanks for the kind review! And thanks for the terrific feedback. We will definitely consider your ideas for a future update.

### 3/5 — Getting better as I use it

*2019-03-03, version 3.2.2*

Widget works fine on iPhone but not as well on Apple Watch. Have to reinstall anytime I control something else from watch and try to go back. No updates in a year? Possibly could be why it doesn’t work properly.

### 3/5 — When it works, pretty good but...

*2019-01-29, version 3.2.2*

Like this app and use it quite a bit although it's quite limited in what it can do. When it works, however, it's a true convenience to have on the watch - very handy. My biggest gripe is that too often it stops working and the only fix I've found is to delete it entirely and then re-install it. Also, I see there's been no update for a year?? Question for developer: Why no update in so long and are you going to be upgrading the app soon w/more features or are you about to do away with it altogether - hence why no updates? Thanks and again, folks on the fence about this app, it's very worth having for the times it works for you in spite of it only offering the most basic of Sonos features. Hope the answer to my developer's question above is that the app will be upgraded soon and that it has a long life ahead! :-))

**Developer response:** Thanks for your review! Sorry to hear that you sometimes have issues with the app. Please send us an email at info@toricbits.com and we can have a look at it. We are still very much engaged in Sonobit. :) And we are looking into developing an updated version.

### 5/5 — thank you for including accessibility!

*2019-01-07, version 3.2.2*

As a totally blind individual, I must say thank you for firstly being aware of people like myself using your apps. Secondly for including all necessary things to make the app VoiceOver friendly. Finally for stating right in the app's description that VoiceOver support is included. I'm super impressed! And to be able to use my watch with this... Are you kidding? Absolutely awesome! 5 stars to you all the way!

**Developer response:** Thank you for the kind review! Really happy to read that you enjoy Sonobit!

### 4/5 — Love the app.

*2019-01-05, version 3.2.2*

Love the app. Simple and easy to ruse, but makes my listening life much easier. The only thing I would change is to add thumbs up & thumbs down button for when listening to streaming services. Once it has that, I give it 10 stars!

### 5/5 — A must-have for Sonos users!!!

*2019-01-03, version 3.2.2*

I just got Sonobit based on all the positive reviews and the need to control my Sonos from my Apple Watch - I couldn’t live without this app and the support team is fantastic - thanks for the great app!!!

### 5/5 — SONOS MUST HAVE APP

*2019-01-03, version 3.2.2*

If you have a Sonos system and an iPhone, especially if you have an iwatch, you need this app. For $2.99 your life will be better. Stop reading the reviews...just buy it already.

### 5/5 — Excellent app for controlling Sonos system

*2019-01-02, version 3.2.2*

I bought this app primarily to control my So is system from my Apple Watch and have been very pleased with it. I also had a question for the developer and they were very quick to respond. If you’re looking for a more convenient way to control your sonos speakers this is a much better option than using the Sonos app to do so, especially if you have an Apple Watch.

**Developer response:** Thanks for the nice review! Happy to hear you enjoy Sonobit as much as we do.

### 5/5 — No Apple Watch app

*2018-12-30, version 3.2.2*

Initially, the watch app didn’t appear on my iPhone or Apple Watch. I contacted the developer who responded immediately and told me to reinstall and reboot. I should have known to do this.

Works great! I never used widgets before but this app has shown me how handy they are.

### 4/5 — Works perfectly!

*2018-12-15, version 3.2.2*

I was really disappointed when ZonePlay stoped supporting the Apple Watch. Found your app doing a little research. Downloaded and watched the video it works perfectly! Force touch to see groups. I wish you could edit and change groups on the watch so please consider that in an update.

## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated)

### 1/5 — Breaks Sonos

*2019-09-17, version 3.2.2*

Reply to developer: Yes it did break Sonos in that the Sonos app could no longer connect to the speakers right after I installed this app. The connections would time out. As soon as I deleted this app, Sonos starts working again and could connect to the speakers just like before. So sorry but that is exactly what happened. If you want to deny that, have at it. But I won't reinstall the app and would recommend others do so either.

What a waste of money. This app totally broke Sonos. As soon as I deleted the app, Sonos app started working again. How do I get a refund? Sheesh. Awful product.

**Developer response:** Hi! Sonobit does not in any way break you Sonos system. Please email us at info@toricbits.com and we will gladly have a look at the issues you’re experiencing.

### 1/5 — Doesn’t Work That Great

*2019-04-04, version 3.2.2*

I don’t normally do reviews but thought I should as I’m currently disappointed that I had to pay for this. I bought this for basic control of my Sonos in my gym from my watch. One room, 4 speakers. The app kind of works, but there’s a lengthy delay. All I want is to be able to turn music down quick so I can talk to my class and then crank it back up. So unless I’m doing something wrong or missing something, I’d love a refund.

### 1/5 — Waste of time, money and potential to wreck your settings

*2019-02-23, version 3.2.2*

I thought what a great idea! I have Sonos speakers in three rooms and a Sub so switching between them from my Apple Watch—great! But while I could get it added to the widgets on my iPhone XS, I couldn’t get it to show on my Apple Watch Series 4. I restarted my phone, my watch, no joy. What it seemingly DID DO was suddenly eliminate my ability to control even my iPhone music from my watch. I had to reset both AGAIN to get that functionality back. Don’t waste your time and money!!

### 1/5 — Not good

*2018-12-08, version 3.2.2*

No instructions, sure there is something on my Apple Watch but I can’t even change rooms or music playing, this is a waste of $, and if I CAN change these things, HOW, the “app” piece on my phone just shows how to add it to my main screen. Don’t buy this!

### 1/5 — Doesn’t work - it’s frozen!

*2017-10-10, version 3.1*

I don’t know if this app isn’t compatible with the new Apple update, but I paid good money for it and it’s useless!
It doesn’t work on my watch and even on my iPhone it says to “swipe down and right” but it’s like the screen is frozen. It directs you to settings, which basically offers no help either.
How do I get a refund?

### 1/5 — Watch app doesn't work

*2017-04-08, version 3.1*

The widget for iPhone works as it should. The Watch app doesn't work at all. It has a long -- 30 second plus -- delay when it does work, which is not often. Completely worthless if you want watch controls for your Sonos system.

### 1/5 — Disappointed

*2016-12-30, version 3.1*

I bought this app so I could control my Sonos system with my Apple Watch. It did not WORK!! I deleted the app from my phone. Very disappointed!! Sonos has a free app I use and it works great. Just does not work with my Apple Watch. That is why I purchased this app. Like I said. It does not WORK. Waste of money. They should offer a free app for Apple Watch so people can see how it operates.

### 2/5 — Underwhelming

*2017-07-21, version 3.1*

Yes, the iWatch app can play/pause, control volume BUT it can't turn on music/radio station and it can't do the limited controlling of speakers if your iphone sonos app is not in control of the speakers. Meaning, if your kid puts on a playlist too loud, you can't turn down the volume. I bought the app to control my speakers from my watch when my phone was in another room -- alas, it doesn't work that way. What a shame. I'd love to turn on my music without having to dig out my phone.

**Developer response:** The Apple Watch app can control the volume. Please send us an email and we will help you out.

### 3/5 — Was a good app but I can’t get it to work again.

*2020-11-13, version 3.4*

Ever since the updates to the watch the watch app appears to be broken for me. It will find my system and will sometimes play and pause but it will absolutely not control the volume. The iPhone app appears to be doing its job though it constantly has to refine my system seconds after I just used it. The watch app has been removed and reinstalled repeatedly for me with no luck controlling the system consistently.

**Developer response:** Sorry to hear that you have issues with Sonobit on your Apple Watch. Please reach out to us at info@toricbits.com and we will gladly help you out!

### 3/5 — Works well ish

*2020-06-08, version 3.3.1*

Controls volume and skips songs. Couldn’t get grouping to work via the 3D plus but think that is more of the watch issue.

Now the question is when will the update hit to work with the S2 app.

## Most praised reviews (10 highest-rated)

### 5/5 — A good app that needs nextgen updating

*2022-12-21, version 3.4*

This app has treated me well for some time now. But with the new generation of widgets out there, it’s time for an update. This is still the old style of widget that exists to the left of the homepage. But again, it has served me well.

### 5/5 — Handy!

*2022-02-01, version 3.4*

Handy app for something Sonos should support, but doesn’t.

After I got a new phone I had to find the “customize” link on the Home Screen.. not the plus to add a widget.

Support replied in literally 2 minutes with the answer to my question.. amazing! Now I can see and control Sonia from the Lock Screen again. Yay.

### 5/5 — Great Sonos App

*2020-11-04, version 3.4*

Really needed this! Works on Apple Watch as well, which is a dream come true. Great online support as well, responded almost immediately and resolved user error. Thanks!

### 5/5 — Watch App stopped working??

*2020-10-04, version 3.4*

Deleted app and reinstalled several times. Watch app recognizes Sonia system and different rooms but will not actually control speakers.

Phone and iPad widgets work fine, it’s just the watch app having issues. Help Please!

This app is insanely handy when it works.

### 5/5 — Works Great - Including with New S2 Operating System

*2020-06-20, version 3.3.1*

Recently built a new pool and wanted a quick and easy solution to have control over my patio speakers from my Apple Watch while in the pool.

Never understood why Sonos would not provide a watch app. This does the trick very seamlessly, including controlling speakers running on the new S2 platform.

Basic controls (play, pause, volume, skip forward and back, etc. and ability to choose what zone you want).

Can’t choose new content (as it only controls what is already playing or already in the queue) but was never advertised to do so and that is likely a feature that only Sonos could implement.

Highly recommended for the features mentioned above if you want to skip songs and change volume from the pool or spa without needing your phone.

**Developer response:** Thank you very much for leaving a review! Happy to read that you enjoy Sonobit for the exact reasons we built it. Enjoy the summer (and your Sonos system) from your pool! :)

### 5/5 — Try it

*2020-01-03, version 3.3.1*

Wasn’t sure given the reviews but this app is fantastic. Does exactly what it claims and no issues so far. So useful and reliable I’ve installed it on every iOS device in the house.

### 5/5 — Nice update

*2019-10-10, version 3.3*

It now connects immediately - I had connection problems before. Super UI/UX design. Thanks! Now useful on Apple Watch. Will use it everyday.

### 5/5 — Outstanding

*2019-06-14, version 3.2.2*

It took a while to understand how to set it up. Once it’s up and running....bliss!! Good job. Highly recommended!

### 5/5 — Sonos - Apple Watch Connection

*2019-01-30, version 3.2.2*

I am a Sonos lover and have been highly disappointed that Sonos did not offer Apple Watch support. This app does EXACTLY what it says it does. Quick download. Automatically connected to my Sonos. I can control the music and different groups on my Apple Watch. Thank you. Crown dial control of volume would be nice but still a great app for anyone with Sonos and an Apple Watch!!!!

**Developer response:** Thanks for the nice review! We’re happy that you enjoy Sonobit! :)

### 5/5 — Excellent App

*2019-01-23, version 3.2.2*

Just downloaded it and love it! One of my favorite apps! It works exactly as advertised.. great job developer!
