Die Sooner App bietet durchaus eine interessante Film- und Serienauswahl, allerdings verstecken sich die Perlen zwischen viel mittelmäßigem Content, den man getrost überspringen kann. Das Durchforsten nach sehenswerten Titeln kostet Zeit und Geduld.
Besonders ärgerlich ist die automatische Abmeldung: Nutzt du die App ein paar Tage nicht, fliegst du raus und musst dich neu anmelden – völlig unnötig und nutzerunfreundlich.
Das größte Problem war jedoch der komplette Ausfall der Apple TV-Funktionalität, die zuvor einwandfrei lief. Der Support zeigte sich anfangs hilfsbereit und schlug verschiedene Lösungsansätze vor – leider erfolglos. Statt weiter nach einer Lösung zu suchen, stellte das Team die Unterstützung komplett ein. Das bedeutet: Abo zahlen, aber das Produkt nicht nutzen können.
Fazit: Solange alles funktioniert, ist die App okay. Bei technischen Problemen lässt dich der Support jedoch im Stich. Für den Preis gibt es bessere Alternativen mit zuverlässigerem Service.

Ach, wenn die Übertragung auf dem Fernseher via Roku länger als 10 Minuten funktionieren würde, könnte die App Spaß machen. So gibt es immer wieder Abbrüche, was insgesamt ärgerlich ist.

Alle paar Wochen wird man ausgeloggt. Das wäre noch nicht mal so schlimm, wenn man sich nicht nur mithilfe eines anderen Computers neu einloggen könnte. Ich schreibe absichtlich "Computer", denn mit dem iPhone oder iPad geht es nicht. Abo deswegen leider gekündigt.

Diese Bewertung gilt für die Apple TV App (ich weiß nicht, wo anders ich sie bewerten könnte). Außer „500 - An unknown error occurred. Please try again later.” Habe ich mir leider nichts anzeigen lassen können. Unter „Entdecken“ und „Kategorien“ kommt nur die Anzeige „Loading“, und der Film, den ich mir am iPad auf die Watchlist gesetzt habe, lässt sich am Apple TV nicht abspielen. Das ist wirklich sehr schade, denn die Filmauswahl am iPad sieht sehr interessant aus, aber ich werde die Filme ganz sicher nicht auf dem iPhone oder iPad anschauen. Mein Abo muss ich also wieder kündigen. Maybe I’ll try again later…

### 1/5 — Defekte Apple TV App, Kündigung nur via Paypal

Die App auf Apple TV erlaubt keinen Login via Mail. Gebe meine Daten ein, doch die App hängt sich im Lade Loop auf. Es erscheint nur der Satz „Bitte nutze beim Sooner Login immer denselben Account Zugang“, während sich die App einen Wolf lädt. So behalte ich mein Abo sicher nicht. Edit: In den FAQs steht, Sooner hätte keine Apple TV App im AppStore, da sie überarbeitet wird. Trotzdem kann man Stand heute eine App von Sooner auf sein Apple TV Laden, dir also anscheinend nicht funktioniert. Weltklasse. 

 Möchte man sein Abo kündigen, verweist Sooner darauf, bei Paypal die Zahlung zu kündigen. Dass Sooner dort unter „ContentScope“ Auftritt, muss man erst einmal herausfinden. Ich halte es für extrem fragwürdig, dass man sein Abo nicht auf Sooners Website kündigen kann, sondern quasi seine Zahlung einfrieren muss.

Edit, nach dem der Entwickler anscheinend absichtlich mein Problem missverstanden hat:

Sooner bietet (zumindest sofern man mit Paypal zahlt) keinerlei Kündigungsoption auf ihrer Website/App an. Sie verlinken nur den Bereich von Paypal, in dem man geplante Zahlungen verwalten kann. Dort kann man die Zahlungen kündigen, wenn man weiß wie der Firmenname des Brands „Sooner“ lautet. 

Paypal weist dabei selbst absichtlich nochmal darauf hin, dass dies keinerlei Einfluss auf etwaige Verträge mit den Dienstleistern hat - wie auch, Paypal ist ein Zahlungsunternehmen, den Vertrag habe ich mit Sooner.

Sooner sendet keine Kündigungsbestätigung, denn Sie wissen ja nichts von meiner Kündigung. Sie erfahren das erst, sobald kein Geld mehr via Paypal eingezogen wird.

Eine Kündigung mit einem Unternehmen hat auf dessen Plattform zu erfolgen bzw. es hat eine Bestätigung darüber zu erfolgen. 

Ich kündige ja auch nicht mein Mobilfunktarif, indem ich einfach die Zahlungen von meinem Bankkonto einstelle. Da wird der Provider aber schnell anklopfen, und sagen dass wir doch einen Vertrag hatten, und ich meinen Teil des Vertrages nicht erfülle.

**Developer response:** Hallo, es tut uns leid, dass du mit uns keine gute Erfahrung gemacht hast. Wir geben dir Recht, dass es nervt, die nicht funktionierende AppleTV-App nicht de-listen zu können. Wir können das leider nicht ändern, da iOS und TV-App im System gekoppelt sind. Die neue - und schöne iOS App ist ge-published, die neue TV-App kommt im nächsten Monat, die eine publishen, die andere de-listen geht leider nicht. 
Was die Kündigung angeht, kannst du jederzeit via Website oder auch via den Apps kündigen. Wenn du Paypal gewählt hast als Zahlungsmethode, dann via Website. Wir hatten dir dies auch mit kurzer Response-Time im Support mitgeteilt, dass du genau dies bereits gemacht hattest, die Kündigung via Website also problemlos funktioniert hat. Warum du also auf der einen Seite problemlos über die Website gekündigt hast und dann kritisierst, genau dies ginge nicht, erschließt sich uns nicht ganz, aber OK, du hast dich wg. der AppleTV-App wie gesagt zu Recht über uns geärgert und das hat dann wohl noch nachgewirkt. Die ContentScope GmbH ist übrigens die Betreiber-Firma der VoD-Plattform Sooner.de, dass unser Paypal-Account - den du ja nicht zur Kündigung nutzen musstest - unter dem Firmennamen läuft und nicht unter dem Brand Sooner, ist so ungewöhnlich nicht, da die ContentScope neben Sooner eben auch noch andere Sachen macht, aber für alle Aktivitäten einen Paypal-Account nutzt. Was die Filmauswahl betrifft, sind meine Erwartungen übertroffen. Es gibt eine große Auswahl richtig toller Filme, die ich bei keinem anderen Streamer finden kann. Gerade bei den französischen Filmen sehe ich viele großartige Titel, die in Deutschland noch nicht mal im Kino waren. Was die App betrifft hatte ich keine technischen Probleme, also entweder wurden die unten genannten Probleme behoben, oder es waren individuelle Schwierigkeiten. Ich werde auf jeden Fall die unabhängigen und europäischen Filme und Streamingdienste weiter nutzen und unterstützen
