## What is SortieTrack?

SortieTrack helps mission aircrews spend less time on paperwork and more time on the mission. Built by aircrew members, it organizes the sortie lifecycle into one guided workflow from Brief and ORM through Mission Flight Plan, Preflight, Flight Log, Postflight, Fuel Receipt, and Debrief.

If you’ve ever re-entered the same sortie details, wrestled with mission narratives, sorted out fuel receipts after a long day, or tried to reconstruct a flight from scattered notes, SortieTrack was built for you.

One Workflow, Less Manual Work
SortieTrack keeps sortie tasks available in one sequential workflow, with clear completion indicators and visual distinction between WMIRS-related steps and app-only tools. 
Mission data, crew roles, aircraft assignments, planning notes, weather details, and mission context stay together in one place.

Real-Time Flight Operations
• Briefing dashboard with live METAR and TAF updates
• One-touch logging for engine start/stop, takeoff/landing, and key mission events
• Continuous GPS track recording with time, position, and altitude
• Custom notes for mission-specific situations
• Optional notifications to designated contacts
• KML export with event placemarks and a continuous flight path  

Track Recording and KML Integration
SortieTrack records a persistent in-flight track between engine start and engine stop, separate from the mission event log. You can also import KML files, including ForeFlight “Send KML to...” share flows, and attach them to an existing sortie.

Crew Sharing
After a flight, crews can share sortie data with other SortieTrack users. Shared sortie packages can be imported as a new sortie or used to update an existing one, helping the whole crew stay in sync.

AI-Assisted Mission Results
Using on-device Apple Intelligence when available, SortieTrack can help generate clearer post-flight text for Summary, Results/Deliverables, and Remarks using sortie details, crew notes, flight log entries, and track data.

WMIRS-Friendly Workflow
SortieTrack helps aircrews prepare structured sortie information including timing, fuel, weather, crew details, mission results, and debrief data for use when completing official mission reports in WMIRS. It also separates WMIRS-connected steps from app-only flight management tasks.

### 1.5.1 — 2026-09-07

SortieTrack 1.5.1 improves inherited briefing defaults on blank briefing pages, strengthens nearby Crew Sync and shared sortie import, improves WMIRS-timezone debrief timing, and cleans up duplicate postflight milestones.

### 1.5 — 2026-08-31

Introducing Crew Sync - connect with other SortieTrack users on the crew and share all sortie information and flight logging in real time with each other.  Stronger PDF/CSV logbook exports, improved postflight checklists and mission results editing, better fuel receipt handling, more reliable WMIRS navigation, and clearer METAR/TAF briefing text.

### 1.4 — 2026-08-11

This update adds a new sortie Logbook export feature with both PDF and CSV options. PDF logbooks now open in-app for review first, with a share button when you’re ready to export.
Weather briefings now include plain-language METAR and TAF translations, making aviation weather easier to review quickly during planning.
WMIRS interaction is also more efficient with direct navigation improvements for sortie actions, including briefing, debriefing, ORM, and related workflow pages. This reduces extra clicks and helps keep the correct mission and sortie context loaded.
