## What is SORTS?

Trace. Spell. Blast. Repeat.

SORTS is the premium word puzzle where you drag your finger across a board of chunky letter blocks to spell words. Any real word of three letters or more scores instantly. No tray, no tapping - just flow.

Then the board comes apart: scored blocks BURST, the grid falls and refills, and matching colours chain into CASCADES — bigger bonuses the longer it runs.

THE OPEN SHELF
Home isn't a menu - it's a library you descend, flicking sideways along each shelf.
• THE SHELF - your books.
• THE PARLOUR - the daily gazette, the Endless tome, the parlour game books.
• THE COMPOSING ROOM - same-room duels.
• B1, THE FORBIDDEN SECTION - the restricted volume, behind a velvet rope.
Day one there's only the Shelf: read Book One. The floors below open as you earn them.

A LIBRARY OF BOOKS - 300 LEVELS
• Book One · A Pocketful of North - one small hero, one creaky map, one treasure at the edge of everything.
• Book Two · The Hungry Spoon - a kitchen wakes before dawn to cook the town a feast.
• Book Three · Harbour Lights - every boat in the harbour has a secret, and the tide is bad at keeping them.
Four chapters a book, each behind a page gate, on a story-trail that inks itself in as you read.

NEW · THE COMPOSITOR'S CABINET
A letterpress match-3 - the game the compositors played after hours.
• Swap two touching sorts to line up three or more of one ink; they clear, and the case falls in behind.
• Every letter you clear drops into the nine-slot composing stick. Tap PRINT and it sets the best word it can spell - DOUBLE score.
• A run of four leaves a lead slug that clears its row; a run of five, an ink bomb that wipes an ink.
• Thirty swaps a bed, one score, its own leaderboard.
Unlock it with coins you earn, or take it with the Pressroom Pass. Ten of Book Three's levels are parlour nights on the Cabinet - campaign levels, free to all.

PLAY EVERY DAY
The Daily Edition - one puzzle, the same for everybody, with a streak to keep alive. Plus gifts, quests, coins, and Endless: a countdown you extend with every word.

DUEL IN THE SAME ROOM - FREE FOR EVERYONE
• Choose your opponent from the room and challenge them. They accept, and you're both on the same board for 60 seconds.
• Two phones, one table, no internet.
• A clean duel (pure skill) or a power duel (boosters on) - then rematch on the spot.
• Build a rivalry record and win scarce duel titles. Room empty? Duel a ghost.

FRIENDS AND GUILDS
• Add the people you play with - see what they're reading, your record against them, send coins and cheers.
• Guilds - up to five of you pool weekly points and climb the Guild League, your finest words shelved in a shared Commonplace Book.
• The Forbidden Section - a new restricted volume every Monday, opened when your guild hits its goal together.
• Game Center leaderboards, widgets and a Lock Screen streak.

Titles, inks, tile blocks and pressmarks to collect, a fresh set in the Print Shop each week, and a letterpress world of antique engravings where every SORT is a piece of movable type. Beautiful on iPhone and iPad.

PRESSROOM PASS (optional subscription)
Monthly or annual:
• Unlimited Endless (free players get three runs a day)
• Every parlour game book, the Compositor's Cabinet included
• Double coins from everything you play
• Every skin and ink in the Print Shop, and all members-only Titles
• A starter bundle of boosters, daily coins, and no ads, ever
All 300 campaign levels, the Daily Edition, duels, Guilds and leaderboards are free.

Trace your first word - and feel the board come alive.

## Version history (last 2 releases)

### 1.1 — 2026-08-26

Book Four: The Moon's Spare Key. One hundred new levels, played at night. Some slots on the board start dark. Trace a word across them and they light, and lighting the whole shape finishes the level. Finish Book Three and the book opens for free.

Your library now follows you. Coins, boosters, titles, the books you own and every star you have earned are kept in iCloud, so a reinstall or a new phone picks up where you left off. Restore Purchases is in Settings and at the foot of the Print Shop.

An early copy is there for anyone who would rather start Book Four now than finish Book Three first. It is optional, and the book opens for nothing either way.

Plus performance work and bug fixes throughout.

### 1.0 — 2026-08-24
